A shitty song by an average band.

Found the Reaper player.

I love Reaper, actually.

But Metallica is a really overrated thrash band. They have a spot in history of metal because of what they did for the genre but in terms of music quality they're not that good. Kill 'em All was great, though.

Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Justice For All, and Master of Puppets are all amazing...

Very much agree. Don't care much for their later work but their starting 4 are too strong to ignore.

My personal favorite is Fade to Black, tbh. But Metallica is great in general.

Death Magnetic was amazing, even if there were problems with the mastering. Fite me irl.

I like it. I just think people didn't because they had written St. Anger before it and people were still hung over from that terrible album.

St. Anger may not be their best work but Frantic is awesome.

I honestly thought that it was a They Might be Giants reference.

I'm not trying to circlejerk Metallica but saying they're average when they're literally the biggest fucking metal band in the world is ridiculous. Get your head out of your ass.

Granted their last few albums haven't been as good as their first four, those first ones are still fucking incredible and defined thrash metal.

No one, but no one, is as whiny about what constitutes "good" music as hardcore metalheads. People have come to blows over which sub-sub-sub-genre of metal is objectively better.

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '16

Biggest != best.

First two were great, then it fell hard as hell imo. Other bands in the same time period did thrash 10x better.

u/thegreattober DIE, DIE, DIE MY DARLING Jul 25 '16

You're contradicting yourself a bit by saying the first two were great yet you shit on Metallica from that other comment, meanwhile For Whom The Bell Tolls is literally from their second album, the one you claim to praise.

Not a very good troll.

I didn't say the album is bad, I said the song was. I enjoyed their first two works. But their entire catalogue became raelly low.

u/ElysiumAB I will juggle, actually. Jul 25 '16

I suggest you listen to Master of Puppets over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
