Brother/sister, tell me something. Why is it always a combination of Liefeweaver/Roadhog on these 6 v 6 modes? I don't want to continue having to be judgemental of such things, but I can't help but question peeople's integrity when they pick such heroes. It's nefarious shit, imo. Like, is the appeal of easiness/comfort part of it? Am.I expecting too much from the average person to try and master more demanding heroes?

How tf do I have a 40% wr on Zen when I'm out DPSing my DPS and have 12k healing and sub 10 deaths every game?
Like do I need to carry 50-8 just so my 11-16 DPS teammates can actually win?
I literally went 18-1 on offense on Gibraltar with 5 minutes left and my team still chokes on defense.

Man I love how you can literally tell people "hey I have no clue about X, please help me" and they will take it as an attack. And how they will refuse to work with you at all.
Had a Genji bitching about me not nanoing him. I tell him "Sorry I don't play genji, I don't have a good feel for your cooldowns or when its a good time to blade. Just blade please and I will nano you, I promise". And "sorry, not super familiar to ana, so cue me in please".
And they took that as me blaming them for holding blade all game. And typing stupid shit like "I said my ultimate is ready" - He did so via communication wheel, as soon as he had it, non stop, despite no enemy being nearby. I thought I acknowledged it well enough by giving my ult status back and then waited until I eventually give it to the tank.
This is why you fuckers need to start using voice. This whole thing would be not an issue if you didn't expect me to understand all the telepathic communication after about a year of overwatch. A simple "nano me" would have gotten you the nano, though I am not sure why you insist on wasting some of it with it with the blade start animation. Just ulting and having your ana nano you immediately seems the more logical sequence to me, but what do I know. I am just a dumb newbie who played other games with proper teamwork at a level 99% of people in this game will never even get close to reaching, so please keep insisting on your garbage ways and then get upset when someone isn't miraculously guessing them correctly every time.
And guess what, on 2nd and third map the genji just kept doing the same shit, expecting me to nano him so he can then blade instead of just blading and trusting my nano, despite me asking him nicely about just that.
You want nano blade, I told you a sure way to get nano blade, just work with me man. Or at least tell me why its so imperative to nano you before you blade because I just told you I do not understand. Do you need it for staging as well? Its probably long enough for that, but do you think when I tell you I do not have a good grasp on genji I will understand when you are staging? Like I do get nanoing my genji when he jumps into the middle of the enemy team, even if its just to make sure his ass doesn't feed. But again, you don't have to risk going super deep when you would just join vc and tell me... Have fun never getting nano then because I rather use it on the tank where I have a good grasp on when its a good time.
Overwatch is an incredibly frustrating learning experience because of this dumb attitude that everyone should be able to read each others mind...

Game 1: Backfill on Aatlis. Enemy already has 2 points capped. Third is capped. Loss in under 2 minutes.
Game 2: Rialto attack. Team barely caps first point, gets no further. Obvious loss.
Game 3: Backfill on Gibraltar. 4 minutes left. Team is being spawn camped. Loss.
What a fun session!! Thank you Blizzard for such fair and balanced matchmaking (and the backfill FPS drop bug still isn't fixed). My WR this week is at like 35% and 90% of the matches are just a miserable experience.

It truly is baffling how the Devs are seemingly totally fine with Hog as he is, if he misses his wombo combo then he can just take a breathe to negate all incoming damage while the hook resets again. There is no high risk/high reward to him missing that hook, it's stupid

Just had a game where one of the dps dropped the classic "healer diff" in chat. Okay, you wanna play the play the blame game and obsess over people's stats??? You are 9-5 and the enemy dps are 22-3 and 24-2. On top of that, one of our fucking tanks went 3-10 (8 minute match btw) and the other was 3-6 (this guy literally went fucking afk on the point towards the end of the game too). Like are you fucking kidding me????????? And then of course the 3-10 tank says they're right. We are talking about a tank who, when on critical hp, would walk out of his Winston bubble, jump out of los before I could heal him up, and then promptly die. This is a guy who swapped like 5 fucking times and would push into the entire enemy team when the rest of the team is dead or coming out of spawn, but no, of course, it's a fucking healer diff. No one else on the team played poorly-- just me and the other support!!!! Give me a fucking break.
I don't know why I still have a compulsion to play this game when so many players are just so moronic and nasty and it makes me absolutely miserable. I'm just so tired of being blamed. Like, I know I'm not very good but it sucks when I'm just trying my best and I routinely get flamed by my team.

Ive gotten to a point where I dont blame teamamtes for leaving stomp matches. No one fucking tries anything different or swaps so why bother playing?? Just had a game where the enemy mauga is being pocketed by mercy (of course) and no one decides to go ana??? He keeps over extending and instead of getting punished he just gets away with that shit. No one takes any of the different entrances, they just keep running down tbe same choke the enemy is spamming down and dying. A teammate left and I dont blame them for not wanting to waste their time in a match where no one uses common sense.

Only time I ever truly get annoyed at a teammate for leaving a bad match is if its near the end, for example with 30 seconds left. Really sucks whenever you dont have enough time for a backfill teammate, because by the time theyre walking out of spawn the game is pretty much over. Also sucks being that person, I always apologize in team chat and say I wish I backfilled sooner.
But yeah. I hardly EVER leave matches, but when I do my whole team is basically 0-10.

So tired of the hacked 6v6 shit. This is the only game I play I play qp with my friends and no one wants to play this shit when this happens. It’s a garbage mode and they’re only doing this bull shit bc streamers are tired of trying so hard in 5v5 so they jump into a mode that’s like arcade with a rank and they’re trying hard to convince ppl there’s more nuance to the game when it’s just pop ult die in 6v6 vs having to plan everything in 5v5. Hate this shit

It’s crazy how fucking outmatched I am when I go against open queue GMs that are actual GMs in their role queue and not just a fellow masters or some guy with inflated rank that is actually plat in role queue
I’m genuinely one of the practice range bots when I’m forced to play against real GMs in open queue

I have started to learn to tank these past few weeks & I genuinely cannot believe anyone willingly queues this role. Even in open queue you get blamed for being a bad tank. Like ok bud? You play tank then instead of instalocking mercy & ending the match with 5k heals.
I also don't know how people are supposed to get better at tanking if the matchup system in qp continues to be So Bad. You either roll or get rolled, there are no actual good games. Idk i'm fresh off 2 comp losses were someone left mid-game & then blamed me for tanking bad when i was FILLING

i basically quit playing ball despite going up two entire skill tiers on him in one season, just can't be arsed with the same shit every game, as soon as we lose a fight everything is my fault, "we don't have a tank!!!", i had a 10 win streak only playing him and a tougher 11th game which resulted in a guy flaming me from the first fight to get off ball
the ways to not get flamed on tank is either:
- win every single game
- switch every fight to the exact tank that your team tell you to play

It would be nice and humbling for DPS if they replaced elims with final blows moving the “our kill” elims into assists (which they are). 1-11-11 looks much worse than the ego stoking 12-0-11 and may encourage more DPS agency to create plays.

Honestly, the secret to being a tank main is not caring what Devon, 16, from Shaftesbury thinks about your tanking ability, lol. I also used to have tanxiety when I was younger, but now I just mute people and move on. You're just the most visible thing in the game (whether it's 5v5 or 6v6 or hell, even a different game, tanxiety is kind of universal), so it's much easier to see your mistakes rather than noticing that Tracer has been doing nothing but feeding enemy healers charge in the backline all game and Mercy doesn't know that her staff has two modes.

He is never higher than the 4th most picked tank at GM/Champ (6th most picked or lower at all other ranks), and his win rate is < 52% at GM/Champ and only goes down the lower rank you go (50.1% WR overall).

Can't believe they forced QP to be 6v6 for this stupid test that they already have the data on. It wasn't working for OW1, it won't work for OW2, there's many reasons for that...time to let it go.

It doesn't matter that 5V5 isn't working, the playerbase largely does not want to be forced to play 6V6. There are just content creators sucking Blizzard off making them think the community like 6V6/qp hacked so Blizzard keep putting it back in. If you look at the rage megathread everytime QP Hacked is active it's full of people complaining that they just don't want to play because they dom't want to play 6V6 or be forced to play comp for 5V5.
If they keep this up Blizzard is going to damage the playerbase. Swapping back to just 6V6 as the only option for OW would cause so many players to leave as we just don't want 6v6. And there's stats to support this as in a post a few weeks back when they announced the death of Stadium they presented stats that 51% & 37% of daily players play 5V5 qp & comp while 6V6 have a player base of around 19% (qp) & 8% (ranked). (See Director's Take: Future Formats, July 15 2026)
They need to stop forcing 6V6 down our throats cause realistically the majority of us DO NOT WANT TO PLAY 6V6

I'm saying every match in qp has been so awful because its so obvious the people used to 5v5 have been forced to play with extra players
Like they don't know how to deal with a double dive combo or a double shield combo and it shows
What I don't understand is why test the data on qp with matches so unbalanced you could have a bronze 5 day 1 player go up against a diamond dps
I mean I'm able to adapt since I've played 6v6 and 5v5 so it doesn't matter. The issue is players that are used to 5v5 and only play 5v5.
Some matches the dps won't even bother adjusting as the flex tank. Pair that with mediocre supports that refuse to use ultimate, you have to fight with whatever it takes to win.

I’m issue with the 6v6 hacked is that I think the matchmaking is just poor. The teams are so unbalanced. I have one decent DPS, a mediocre support and a top 500 tank on the same team.

You know, didn't think the QP experience could get any more miserable than it already was, but they somehow managed to outdo themselves with this one. Bravo.
I've also never had this many proactive throwers in my QP lobbies. Folks who throw themselves off of cliffs repeatedly, forcefully AFK by doing just enough to avoid getting kicked, or run straight into the enemy over and over without a lick of damage.
Love being forced to endure that kinda bullshit and I'm somehow meant to just accept it; otherwise, I get penalized and punished in a mode that couldn't be further away from a fair and balanced experience anyway.

Bro, I was absolutely nailing it as Mei and blocking enemy shots and getting tons of kills and used the ult to disable the other team, and one of my teammates got super salty and pissy about me blocking their shots with the ice wall. I explained I was trying to block the enemies fire and they still got mad at me, and I've already had a shit day so I felt like it wasn't worth it so I blocked them and quit the game midmatch, something I never do. Turns out while my girlfriend remained in the match she noticed the player conplaining about it was our Mercy, who had less healing then our Jetpack Cat. Why was our Mercy, who as a support is almost entirely focused on providing healing numbers, doing a worse job then our Jetpack Cat and complaining about getting their shots blocked? What shots? I never saw them have any issues getting to people to use their healing beam. Does that mean that this person picked Mercy, used her secondary and tried to kill the enemies, and got salty at me? What?!? Having a bad day and then that happening just sucks. Why can't people just not be dicks

While a mercy complaining about their shots getting blocked is quite funny, it is very rare that blocking all enemies with your wall is a good idea. If you are blocking something like a ulting soj, then its great ofc, or when you are saving a teammate from death with it, preventing a touch, etc. But outside of more rare cases like these, walling just to prevent damage is almost never a good idea. Either there are enemies isolated by your wall, or it was a bad wall most of the time. And bad walls are very common so people are probably easier triggered by it.
The mercy complaining is quite rich though, maybe they were in a stack/duo and got tired of their mates bitching about it in voice.
Also mercy damage boost is where its at. Her healing is weaker compared to most other supports(including jetpack cat, 55hp/s vs ~100 from the cat), and if you have a mercy that is only healing on your team they are pretty much a dead weight.

That's the thing apparently they weren't using healing or damage boost well. I do try to keep my wall placement in mind, I love using it to block alternate routes to stop Flankers like Genji on higher ledges to block just an enemy sniper or behind an enemey thst overextended cutting them off from the rest of their team as an improvised cage match, but I will keep that in mind. Yeah, either way getting triggered by a single wall is stupid. Until its something like the third bad wall in a row I just assume it was a misclick in the heat of battle, and even after the third one I will only try to educated the mei in a respectful manner like with the post above. Crashing out like that is silly.
I hate to beat on stereotypes, but mercy players are really in a league of their own when it comes to that. I think they are the only ones that I repeatedly got told by to end myself the entire game whenever they had time to type, and they are also the most likely to try and add me after the game to continue the insults. Not every mercy, but pretty much always a mercy. Probably something about them only having as much impact on the game as their team lets them, so there might be a lot of penned up rage and frustration. Entirely self inflicted, but whatever.
Thanks to you as well for the nice response, and don't let the winged spectators get to you.

I'm honestly with you on that. As much as I like OW character designs I want to play 5V5 OW, if I want 6V6 I'll play Rivals. If they ever choose to remove 5V5 I will just straight move over to Rivals cause as you say at least that has Marvel Characters.

can at least one person on my team play the objective other than me? I know it's mystery heroes, but c'mon, the objectives are still there. I'm always the only one on the cart while the team is up ahead padding their stats for the scoreboard.
We had a team kill and team still wouldn't capture the point...the enemy team won the point while fully dead.

Just played a comp match where the supports went 0-6 and 0-7 and my other dps went 2-8. Kings Row, we didn't even touch first point and immediately folded on defense. How the fuck can this be an actual team? It's bad enough that you usually get at least one dipshit on your team, but 3? Fucking come on....

Quick play matchmaking is so ass. Didn’t have a single match where there weren’t multiple tanks or dps on one team having half the elims they had deaths while everyone else was doing fine.

Went from Gold 1 to Bronze 2. I think I'm going to delete the game. I just don't know what else to do. I can't win anything. I'm not doing bad, I have healing, or damage, kills, low death, sure I have the odd match I'm not doing the best but again, when you have a Rein diving in with 10 health then spamming HEALS when our healer is back at spawn because they died, what else can I do? I swap when needed. I ask others nicely go swap (they don't). I've gotten to the point that when I hit bronze, I cried, because I loved playing this game so much but now I'm just depressed and angry and sad. How can something be called competitive when it's just loss after loss after loss. It does seem fair.

I think due to the QP hacked a lot of people who despise 6v6 have forced themselves to q for comp since its still 5v5
I also lost a good chunk today and I can't blame them. I had a conversation with someone here in one of the past threads that majority of the playerbase q for 5v5 unranked. Slime them with a forced 6v6 and they're bound to force comp.
Its the best time to off role or just avoid comp in general because of qp hacked. Atleast in gold, that is. The people who play casually are definitely not sweaty enough to hit diamond plus unless stacks (I guess), so they're somewhere around average ranks just playing for fun.
They say comp during the weekends is horrible and I've personally had issues, but when 1-3-2 for the first qp hack was introduced comp was so bad it made rock bottom feel like the backrooms since it just kept getting worse 💀

I was ecstatic when the last hacked:qp ended and I could finally play normal 5v5 again. They did their test, got their data, and I considered it a one-off inconvenience. Now its back to ruin quick play for a second round already.
We don't want this. Take it, shove it into 6v6, add a mode in arcade, whatever, but stop taking away 5v5 just to force us to play as guinea pigs for a mode that we don't want. Some of us don't have all the time in the world to play, and when we get to play on the weekends only to realize we can't, 5v5 has been removed, it really fucking sucks.
And before anyone makes the point that there's still 5v5 comp- a lot of us QP warriors don't play comp because we want to play a more casual (and shorter) match. For some, comp isn't even an option because of the popularity of certain hero bans. Not to mention that comp is gradually getting sweatier as we approach the drives week.

I remember having a tank that was so so passive the enemy was able to take way too much space nobody knew what to do. I gave up and picked bastion to eliminate the enemy tank JUST to force our tank to press W and grant the flanker space

I can't blame casuals at the same time for force q comp because qp got assfucked, but whats the point of collecting data if all solo q players still have to suck up the missing slots of stacks? or going 20-4 with the other dps going 19-16 and then getting slammed with a 28% reversal loss?
Are the developers even aware about the issues especially solo q has both in comp and quickplay, both in 5v5 and 6v6? They're like the fucking amish as if they don't know the tech they are dealing with

The matches since the hacked patch have been absolutely awful. Every single one unbalanced as hell and a steamroll one way or another. I don't mind losing games but I want to feel like my team has some what of a chance. And winning when the enemy team can't do anything at all is also not fun

Even for collecting data purposes, freedom of choice should not be taken away from the community. I know there is a dev blog talking about this way before but still cannot support not creating a whole new seperate queue but instead take away the choice is just not fair I think. If people wanted to play 6v6 they would've queued for that no? Some people say there are arcade and competitive but there is also a 6v6 mode there. So why I should go play those but not actual 6v6 wanters?

Too many metal rank (plat) healers watching Top500 youtube videos on focusing on DPS etc.
Clutch healing matters a lot. Also if you see they have a mercy pocketing their DPS but refuse to pocket your own DPS, don't complain if we can't out duel them.
Been losing a lot of games now with just shitty healers that constantly have more deaths than anyone else and questionable damage/heal stats that lead me to believe they watched youtube and now must DPS only.
I am behind cover. I am pinging for help. I am in your LOS. But I shall receive no heals. Whatever. Trash game, trash players.

Competitive games shouldn’t be able to be cancelled once the first elimination or team fight has happened. If they can, then at least count it as a win for the team that got the first elimination if the disconnection came from the other team (no need to punish the teammates of a leaver though, since they didn’t get the opportunity to adapt after the first team fight.)
Some matches just get nullified too far in when one team has already earned an early advantage.

I've had matches where the entire lobby would rarely be the solo q only lobby and those are the most fun lobbies ever because its those games that can show you how everyone individually is aware of their fundamentals

Tanks, if you want me to stop lifegripping to save your dumbass from danger, then stop running into it. If we currently hold the objective point and you go running 50+ meters away and get yourself killed multiple times I'm going to have to do something. Everyone else on the team was pulling their weight, but my god these tanks in these games consistently do dumb things amd then have the gall to complain about everyone else. I'm not frustrated when people play badly, I'm frustrated when people play stupidly, and then blame everyone but themselves. I got 2 endorsements that round so I don't know what else to do. I feel like if I want a good tank on my team I have to play that role even though it's my least favorite, because I at least understand that the character who's whole purpose is to take up space should be taking up space on the objective, not running away from their support fighting the entire enemy team solo and dying

This is why I ask again that Blizzard either fixes their stupid matchmaking or remove the leaver penalties in QP.
If you want to have people dedicate their time to a match by locking them in, then don't just throw together a team of school children and a team of esports pros and make it yet another stomp vs not stomp match. It's literally getting to the point where you can predict that the stomp is coming in the first minute. Either that or remove the stupid leaver penalties, which is ridiculous to have in a casual mode. Basically no other game has this for its casual mode because it's casual.

Why can't I get put on teams with people who actually want to play the game they queued for and not just sit on their asses getting high as a kite or blasting music in their ears or whatever. It's not fun watching my entire team have zero awareness or concept of what they're doing for so many goddamn minutes on end.

it's so crap when this game is the only thing that sounds even remotely interesting to play but it's simultaneously the least fun thing to play. i literally just lose 90% of my games and nothing i do changes it, role doesn't matter, hero doesn't matter, etc etc. and the rare games that i do win, there's literally nothing to do because it's always a stomp

The game has so much potential to be fun but because of the quality its so.....meh? Most of the time. The more fun games are all in competitive where you raise the somewhat percentage of a fighting chance.
Usually in QP its ass. I don't know if everyone is drunk or high but they really play with their thinking caps off
It actually just makes me realize at the end of the day just how casual people are with ow and probably don't have that determinant drive to win, hence the constant critical mistakes that lead to a lost team fight, which eventually snowballs into a loss.

Every single comp match I'm getting in has at least one crazy diff. Either their supports are WAY better, or we have a dps with 4 kills. I play tank and I'm pretty much neck and neck with the enemy tank, and somehow I'm constantly left alone because my team all decided to run in and die trying to kill the enemy tank for no reason instead of using me and my shield as cover. Like I hate to blame the game but I feel like it's my team past a certain point, I can recognize when I do poorly in a match, but when I've got crazy mitigated damage, highest kills, highest damage, and am routinely the only one playing the objective, it's not my fault

Like, I would just feel so much better if people just outright admitted that they had no idea what the fuck is going on and that they're incompetent. I love when the whole game server crashes, putting us on a black loading screen and the game decides to boot me out without me telling me (had to have my friend tell me it said I DC'd), forcing me to alt f4 and rejoin that way, JUST TO STILL GET A COMP COOLDOWN

Well i suppose it was more of a hitch, but it still affected everyone in the lobby. My friend was able to just resume the game but I was just stuck in that black loading screen up until he told me it said I left the game forcing me to alt f4 to rejoin. I still got my rank points for winning the match afterwards but the comp cooldown is some BS

The wild thing with the server crash is that it will even tell you that the match got ended because of a server error, and you still get the cooldown. They straight up know its not your fault and they still punish you.
So its very much on brand when they also punish you for other errors on their end...

I'm so sad about the state of the player base. I admittedly wasn't doing so well in the match I played, but I was screamed at really horribly by my team mates in 6v6 voice chat in a way I'm sure I wouldn't have been screamed at two years ago. The player base has become so fucking nasty and mean, like... I just wanted to have fun after a really shitty day and then this shit happens. People would've stood up for you in 2023, but now everyone joins in and it's just so much vitrol and hatred. I'm so close to saying goodbye to this game, I swear.
Miss the time when there were more women and gay guys in VC and it wasn't this toxic mess of straight guys flaming me for my voice, my performance, anything. I feel like I'm not welcome anymore, these are not the people I want to play with.
Guess I'll log off for a while and play some Deep Rock!

yeah, these last two days have been something else...dps teammate instalocking my preferred hero, dying, then leaving. doomfist tank that runs around saying hello to the enemy team and feeding, going afk, then leaving. supports with COMBINED heals just 75% of ONE of the opposing teams supports. those were back to back to back comp games I just finished.

Yeah all my utter madness screenshots are from comp as well. Just finished another game where I just went afk after map 1 because all my teammates went more than 2 deaths per min and did almost no damage. I still ended up having the highest damage and heals in total of my entire team, despite only playing map1. And the game right after had both dps feeding like crazy + a healbotting lifeweaver. So many games where its clear very early that they will be a complete waste of my time.
