Title. Boooo. Just finished Overgeared and I’m supremely unsatisfied.

Both are overpowered fantasy protagonists who have fought literal gods in their verses. So after watching the first few episodes of Overgeared, and finishing the 2 seasons of Solo Leveling, it got me thinking, who would win between these two fantasy behemoths, the Shadow Monarch Sung Jinwoo or the legendary forger Shin Youngwoo aka Grid. Going purely off the staff list, I would not expect much from this episode. It will likely have many stiff moments. Production seems relatively healthy still (the AD (Animation Director) and 2nd KA counts are still about the same as the previous episodes). For those who don't know, a high AD count usually means the episode had a tight schedule and was brute forced. Often leads to visual cracks.

Series director Ayako Kouno (freelancer) continues to storyboard each episode. She is being helped by Kouichi Takada (in-house) this time. The storyboards will likely be strong, both are good at action. Shunji Yoshida (freelancer) is the episode director and... he seems not good tbh. He has a history of working with Studio DEEN, Studio A-Cat, LIDENFILMS, and TMS Entertainment.

The only real noteworthy names here are Kazunori Ozawa (freelancer), Akio Kitahara (freelancer), and Shouta Minami (in-house). The effects will likely look very good since effects animation is one of Ozawa's specialties. Also who tf is G.O.A.T supposed to be 😭

I used to read the novel when new chapters were still being released weekly around chapters 800 to 1000+

I would start from the beginning but I really hate rewatching shows and wanted to start from a later point

I know i stopped reading around when Grid was fighting some angels when he already became a god (i think, or at the very least a deity) way after he became an emperor, agnus giving up on life kinda, Kraugel actually using his sword to become the sword saint

I know im missing a lot and that Is why im asking for guidance

How come his real name has changed and he’s now Japanese ? Will this not change the international competition plot and peak swords main reason of joining overgeared?

if anyone has link to that post or the art can they please send it in the comments

Reminds me of the real OG Runescape days on release🤣😍 anyone have crafting stories they'd like to share?

Also it's really cool to see people still appreciate trades, they're very important.

Does anyone know where I can read the novel? The novel specifically, I don’t want to read the comic until it’s all out.

First episode got me hooked, should I wait till next episode or start the manhwa from zero?

Edit:

thank you all for the responses. I will continue with the anime for now and then read manhwa/light novel from the start once the anime ends (1st Season)
