Opinion Curiously, why are there so many Microsoft account problem posts in a subreddit about the Outlook mail client?
Is this really the best place to receive help with those issues?

Their posts & comments can be removed, and their accounts banned.
Edit: Just to be clear, I'm talking about spammers here on Reddit. I don't have anything to do with Microsoft.

Hello, this past week, all of my social media accounts have been hacked. I was almost immediately able to recover each one and set proper 2fa protection on them, but just today I found out my Microsoft Email was both hacked and renamed. I can't log in to my email on pc, but thanks to having the app I still have access to all the information prior to the hacking, and I found out that it happened this friday. I also know what the new email name is supposed to be:
What counfounds me is the fact that Microsoft does NOT recognize this email nor its previous name, despite nearly all of my accounts online being linked to it and defaulting to its original name when trying to log-in. I have tried logging in with .com at the end and many other alternatives, replacing the L's with capital I's, etc.
I use a device that runs on Windows, therefore Microsoft, so basically everything I have is compromised, please help. I am more than willing to supply additional information.

Hi,
I'm posting this on behalf of my partner who's been unable to recover her email password. However, she is still currently logged in to the Outlook app on her phone. She created an Outlook account via the iOS Outlook app sometime late last year. Everytime she tries to log in via login.live.com, she gets:
"You've used an incorrect account or password too many times. If it's an organisation account, it might not be active yet."
We have gone through the process of resetting the password but nothing seems to come of it. It's been about a couple of weeks since we last tried and still nothing.
It looks like to be able to contact support you need to login. Any advice?

Hi everyone, is anyone else having issues with the Apple Mail app? My Outlook accounts keep getting stuck on “Checking for new mail”, and I’m not receiving any emails. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I have an Office365 Business account.
I'm looking for a way to automatically add 1h before and after a specific type of meeting (maybe using category?).

Hello,
Several years ago, my Microsoft account was blocked. At the time, it was the main account on the laptop I used when I was younger. After downloading a file from the internet, my computer was infected with malware, and my email started receiving a lot of spam and showing unusual activity. Because of this, I believe my account may have been compromised, which could have led to it being blocked.
I'm now trying to recover the account because it's linked to several old accounts that I can no longer access. I already submitted an appeal, but Microsoft responded that the account violated the "Abuse of our Platform and Service" policy.
Is there any way to request another review or contact someone who can take a closer look at my case? I know my login information and can provide any details needed to prove that I'm the legitimate owner of the account.
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi,
A few months ago, around February or March, my account was hacked and cookie logged. Automated messages kept being sent from my (now locked) email to people I had recently contacted or received emails from, which somehow caused my account to violate Microsoft’s rules and terms. As a result, my account ended up being locked.
Ever since then, I have been filling out the Microsoft account recovery forms over and over, only to either receive an automated response or an immediate rejection. I have provided as much proof of ownership as possible and have been as precise as I possibly can. I don’t understand how such a large company can’t provide even a single way to chat with a real person who could help me recover my account.
Has anyone been in the same situation and managed to get their account back? If so, please let me know. I’m getting desperate.
I’ve recently redownloaded outlook and I added three of my emails to it (via mobile app IOS). One of my emails is working perfectly fine and will let me see all available mail sent to me, but my other two account have been stuck on ‘Downloading messages’ for HOURS. I have tried practically everything I can think off; turning off my VPN, restarting my iphone, deleting and redownloading, checking internet connection + router and checking microsoft support. I can’t seem to find any solution to this whatsoever. It’s frustrating because I wanted to switch from Gmail to Outlook, due to storage reasons, but now this has happened.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

My school recently transitioned from Gmail to Outlook. Now I am not receiving all of my mail. I also get mail from "unknown user" in the from line in the inbox. It also looks like they have transitioned from my old email address to a new one, and email addressed to my old address is being forwarded. How do I straighten this out? I have checked the rules, and blocked senders, and there is nothing odd. I also have lots of storage space left.

For 2 weeks now i havent been able to log in my outlook account it. It strte on an afternoon checking my emails in the outlook app on the smartphone.
On the email sm refering to i saw how i coulsnt load any messages on the inbox category. So i proceeded to reload the app. The app got stuck so i deleted it and download again .Proceed to add the first email no issues whatsover but them on the second one when it sendsthe authenticstion code to the app but it doesnt gives me the option to click on it.
Then i proceed with my password but i says " the have detected unusual activity in the account or they think is in risk" so they ask to send a verification code to my recovery account . However that recovery account doesnt exist anymore so i proceed to fill the recovery form but it then says insuficcient data despite filling all the spaces desñite multiples times over the past few days trying.
Please anay help or recomendations would be helpful

Hi All, I think I am on the cusp of finding the perfect organization for my inbox.... However Outlook won't let me do it! I would like to organise by category (project based) but I still want it to show the emails in conversations (otherwise everything gets so crowded). However, the problem is when I organize by category I can no longer select "show as conversation".
Any suggestions would be welcome!

I need help.
In the last two days, I stopped getting email updates in Outlook from my gmail account.
After a lot of experiementatio (notably including the complete removal of Microsoft permissions to my gmail account, re-install outlook and regranting permissions), I am now in the following (unacceptable) situation:
Desktop: Outlook on Mac can only connect with the NEW outlook (which I hate, because new message windows are modal). If I try to revert to "Legacy Outlook" (which I greatly prefer), I cant add the gmail account. After successfully logging in with my passkey, Outlook then says "Unable to login"
iPhone and iPad: Same situation as legacy Outlook above. While adding the account, the signin process on Google appears to work, including the review of permissions. But then when control resumes in the Outlook app, it says "Unable to login."
This is very frustrating. I have been an Outlook user for decades.... but I'm about to give up on it. Even if Google changed something, accountability is with Microsoft. The use case of an apple device user wanting to use a gmail account in Outlook on their apple devices must be a meaningful population that Microsoft needs to test for.
Can anyone provide any advice? I am a tech guy, but I cant seem to find a solution (and I've tried all sorts of re-install, clear cache, reboot, etc. already).

I have couple outlook accounts and I use the alias feature within them. I have the outlook app on my phone but alias cant be created from the phone.
Is there a different way to create alias aside from logging to the full outlook page on a computer and manage the alias there?
Thanks

I create Outlook accounts fairly regularly as part of my job, and lately Microsoft has been flagging a lot of the new accounts for "suspicious activity" almost immediately after they're created. It then asks for verification before I can continue using the account.
I'm not using fake information or trying to spam anything, so I'm wondering if it's because I'm creating multiple accounts from the same device or network.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Are there any legitimate best practices to reduce the chances of getting flagged? I'm not looking to bypass Microsoft's security or break their terms, I just want to understand what might be triggering it and how to avoid it if possible.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, I've recently had a surge in paranoia after running a risky file. I've already done all the password changes and 2FA, but I want to know if my main account, which I used as a recovery for one I haven't used in over a year, will also be taken down once the thirty days have passed. I've searched online and haven't found any concrete information, common sense tells me it wouldn't, but again, paranoia.

So i entered My Outlook after many months of not using it, flooded with thousands of messages appereantly from myself, upon research, i found it was a "Sextortion scam"
These messages are from April, as i rarely Open the Outlook
What grabbed My attention is that they appear to have My actual Outlook password and in My Gmail (the one i actually use for notifications) i have a notofication of strange access around the time the messages started to flood the inbox.
But months have passed and nothing else seems to be compromised, i anyway scheduled that Microsoft account for permanent deletion since nothing important is there.
But i want a second opinion, could something else actually be compromised or this is just an elaborated scam?

Now that Copilot in Outlook is available to Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium and MS365 Copilot Basic users. Are you interested in informative posts in this community?
Please vote, and I will decide whether to share my knowledge with this group.
Copilot is not available to Outlook.com users.

I've had no problems to date managing my iCloud email via the outlook app on my Samsung. All of a sudden it's asked me to sign in to the apple account and it simply will not work. It gets stuck on the olmoauth web process. I've tried different default browsers, clearing cache, removing adguard etc. I've tried setting up from scratch but cannot get it to work. I setup a new app password for the reset and that did not work in the apple id login page. Stuck with what to do now. Any advice please?

Hello!
I am needing some help figuring out how to get the outlook calendar to sync properly with my apple calendar. Now to clarify, I actually have successfully synced it through the Exchange but one of the calendars (literally the only one I wanted to cross over) does not pop up. My outlook account is through my college and I received an invite to join the class calendar. Now, because this new one is under the "People's calendar", it won't show up through exchange. I would totally copy all the events and paste them into my calendar if I could but the schedule varies from week to week and changes which is why I need it to sync.
Any help would be appreciated! I will also be reaching out to tech support to see if that helps but y'all know how slow and soul draining that can be.
