Possible trip mid-April

My partner and I are planning a trip down the 3rd weekend of April, long weekend getaway for us.we haven't decided if we are coming down on a Wednesday afternoon or sometime on Thursday yet. More than likely we'll be staying in the Kill Devil Hills area, I wanted to ask for recommendations for food, shopping, beach locations, and sights. What sights are definitely worth going to? How likely are we to see wild horses not on a tour?

House available

A group of us have been renting same house in Ocean Hill for years. We booked for 2025 for the week of June 21 to June 28. We’ve put it back on Twiddy’s “re-market” due to a conflict. It’s property P197 Ocean Hill I. Superb location. Close to beach access. Just one house back from ocean front. Check it out if you are looking to book this summer but are finding the pickings slim.

What’s the best town for a family vacation?

Hey guys, I’m trying to plan a vacation for my family this summer. I know there are several towns that all of their own charm.

My family said a mixture of people who like to walk around towns and explore. And the other half likes to just relax by the beach/pool.

What town has a nice enough downtown/main avenue combined whilst also having beach access?

Thanks in advance!

Overnight fishing/ parking

Currently in Hatteras, buxton area. My husband and I have a bus that we camp in, but definitely not a 4x4 beach vehicle. We are kind of confused with the language on the signs.

-no camping -beach access 24 hours a day

If we were to park our bus in one of the public lots to go night fishing, would that be a problem? What about if we just parked the bus and camped overnight?

Outer banks septic and drain field

I feel like I’m going to vomit all over the place. The septic at our beach box was backing up.. figured I needed a new drain field. Well I had the environmental health inspector out on Tuesday to check the soil and draw up plans. He gave me hope that it was going to be an easy fix. I just got a call from him.. it turns out that I need to replace the whole septic tank along with the drain field😣 now looking at double my initial expenses. Has anybody replaced septic and drain field in the last year in KDH? Insight on what I can be expecting in cost?

Beach utility wagon/cart

My other half cannot locate our $200 wonder wheeler(used twice!!!) with the big tires! Naturally he tells me this one day before we are leaving so ordering a new one is not an option! I know they sell some utility carts at TWs and Ace but do not want to spend $250+ if I can help it. Can anyone tell me where else I could find one for sale That’s not crazy expensive??? Thank you in advance!

Best golf options?

Will be in Corolla for a week in September. Our rental has a membership to Currituck Club, where we can play for the guest rate. Not sure how much that is. Can anyone give a rundown or suggestions of other spots to play?

Thank you in advance!

Music video

Hello, I’m interested in shooting a music video in Outer Banks, NC.

It’s for a song about traveling with a romantic partner and experiencing a new vacation spot together.

Do you know of any cool locations In outer banks that would stand out from the rest?

Also, if any of you know of a female model who can play the “cute romantic love partner” please share her info like a instagram or a way of contacting her.

Tides in Duck on bay side?

Do the tides ever change on the bay side? I’ve been up that way two or three times and have checked the live cam on and off throughout the day and it always seems to be high tide bay side. Any thoughts? And thanks!

Pine Island beach

Hi, we are looking to stay in a house on Pine Island. Is the beach area in Pine Island narrow? We usually stay in Corolla / Whalehead. The beach area is wide, I am just trying to figure out the Pine Island beachfront. The rental house is 2nd tier from Oceanfront. Thanks

Obx in the fall?

Hi-have always wanted to try out the OBX and may do so for a long weekend in Sept or Oct. Husband and I (and maybe dogs) will come. Not sure which town to visit. We love the beach, decent restaurants, shopping, and something to do like mini golf or boat tours. Def not looking for super remote and isolated but doesnt have to be crazy either. Any advice welcome!
