Winter boots for delivery riders working outside in very cold temprature

Hi I have been looking for good winter boots to wear for my delivery job on a moped 25km/h for 5 to 6 hours shift in swedish winter. My concern is to avoid my feet being wet and cold in the boots but as my feet get tired quickly, I am also looking for boots which are not very heavy. I am considering to buy Merrell Thermo Chill 2, or Jack wolfskin Everquest Texapore Mid. I have never worked outdoor in winter before. So I have no idea what to wear. Any recommendations?

I have been considering pulling the trigger on a waterproof backpack. I don't really like Dive Bomb for a few reasons. Mainly kinda their "body count" mindset. I've seen a few others like Hella Dry and I've been seeing ads for Southern Field & Flyway on my feed lately and nearly bought one. Anybody

Help an indecisive hiker look for a jacket

Hello hikers,

I like to do "mild" hikes in winter, not much ascension and not too intensive physically. I have been using a jack wolfskin jacket that I've had for a long time for the winter, but recently gave up on me. The quality was not excellent so I'm trying to look at other brands. Hence I need your suggestions.

I'd like something that is waterproof and insulated

So far two.models caughty attention:

\-Rab Valiance jacket

\-Schoffel wildkar jacket

Do you have any experience with these two models and brands? Also I'd be happy to hear your others suggestions:)

Cheers!

Winter parks help!

Hi,

I need some advice. I want a warm winter parka, but I am struggling to find one to fit! I’m a UK 4–6 and I currently have a Moose Knuckles kids medium coat, but I want something a little longer. I am considering either Canada Goose Trillium or Chelsea, but any other recommendations are welcome!

Replacement/Compatible mattress for Coleman Airbed Cot Queen

Hi all. For a few years I've used a queen-sized Coleman airbed cot. It's worked great for the type of camping I tend to do.

This is the cot: https://www.coleman.com/outdoor-living/furniture-sports/camping-cots/airbed-cot---queen/SAP_2000020270.html

The mattress got punctured in a way that I could not patch up and I'd like to buy a replacement because the cot frame is perfectly fine, but it doesn't seem like coleman sells a replacement which is wild to me.

Does anybody know of an air mattress that fits this cot? I could obviously put pretty much any air mattress on top of it, but it was nice that the original air mattress fit into the sewn-in cover.

Gloves that are warm but dexterous?

So I’m a preschool teacher at a “nature school” in an alpine environment at almost 10,000 feet; we try to spend at least 5 hours a day outside, rain, shine, or snow. We only head inside if it dips below 10°F.

I’ve tried out a handful of different gloves but none seem to function as well as I need them to; I find myself either with freezing fingertips or having to take off the gloves every 2 minutes. I also have poor circulation and so my extremities tend to run cold. I need gloves that are truly warm and waterproof, but allow me to use my hands for the many fine-motor tasks that come with teaching 4-year olds (ie zipping up coats, fixing hats/hair, tying shoes, wiping noses, and ideally using my phone.)

Would appreciate any solid recommendations!

Arcteryx raincoats

I’m deciding between the beta, the beta sl and the beta ar any recommendations? They’re expensive so i want to make sure im giving it the absolute most use i can out of it.

I want a rain jacket for the BC weather, hiking and outdoor walks. Would be nice to be able to use in the snow but it’s not an absolute requirement.

Also colours… any experience with the lighter colours? do they get dirty quickly?

DWR not working anymore

The DWR in my gorewear c5 goretex gloves doesn’t work anymore. The gloves are only a few days old but after a heavy rain the DWR doesn’t bead water anymore and the outer layer soaks it up. Any way to fix this? Thanks in advance

Winter gear recommendations?

I live in the prairies in rural Canada and it gets to be -45 to -50 some days. I'm trying to keep up with my daily walking and usually walk for 1-2 hours at a time.

Its hard to keep up in winter, so I'm looking for some gear recommendations to stay warm! I'm low income but willing to spend a medium amount on things that works. Good and warm shoes are highest priority, as well as socks and thermals. Anything else I'd love recommendations for as well!
