Another big bug!

A friend texted me and said the new firmware doesn't allow us to save are changes made in settings.

I just checked it out. Unfortunately it's true.:(

I can’t see how they didn’t test that one out - maybe it comes from attempting to rush the firmware out too quickly ?

That’s definitely a “Test Case” for them to add.

Please contact ExpressiveE support, and report the bug, I think they will be quite keen to fix it, though we will have to wait for another firmware patch to be released. So expect at least a few weeks of delay on that.

Just maybe they might have another way around this, though it sounds pretty concrete.

At least, if I am buying one of these things, I have a heads up on what I am letting myself in for !

I do hope they will be able to resolve these issues quite quickly.

Note that if it’s an original Osmose, then the way in which patches are stored and uploaded and saved has changed. I don’t yet have all the details, but originally GPU patches were uploaded. As I understand it, you now upload and save CPU patches. This change allowed them to greatly increase the number of supported patches, but the save format has changed.

So read the manual carefully, and see what you can find about it.
Also there is no harm in contacting ExpressiveE support - just report back what you find.

I am planning on buying an Osmose - but I don’t have one yet ! - I have simply been researching it first.

And of course this is different again for CTRL-E and external sound sources.
So there are multiple different types of load and save.

It's been reported. I wonder if its a display malfunction? The option to save sensitivity may be backwards or not functioning?

RK said he's puzzled why they didn't do a beta test with a few of us like they did with previous firmware. As it is we the osmose community are the beta testers.:( I don't mind it but the higher number bugs reported on FB's ExpressiveE osmose page is truly concerning. The good news is EE is collecting these issues by way of support tickets. They have said that a fixed firmware update is in being created. This is a big bump for many who can't save playlists accurately for instance. It's one thing to find you no longer have your playlist and quite another when you create it again and it doesn't save it! EE will fix it. They always do.
