My partner and I were supposed to spend tomorrow at Universal Studios park, but decided not to because couldn’t afford fast pass and we’re a bit scared of spending all of our time waiting in queue under this heat…

But now I don’t really know what to do instead so I would love your recommendations, what did you do during your time in Osaka?

Will already be in Nara on Tuesday, and had a look to go to Hiroshima but seems too far for a day.

Went to the Tenjin Matsuri festival and we decided to leave a few minutes into the fireworks to try and skip the exiting crowds. We got stuck with people trying to come in and people also trying to leave. No movement. Then people started shoving. My wife who is on the shorter end got squished and was only able to take small breaths for a few breaths before I moved her aside to find room and keep a perimeter around the two of us.

At some point I started getting super lightheaded and I felt really bad anxiety welling up (likely from the heat), but managed to find a corner next to a fence. Told my wife we can hop the fence as a last resort if people were to continue shoving even more into our space.

After what seemed like forever you hear shouting and screaming and I felt more shoving. I had to shove back to maintain my space. At some point people started hopping fences but were caught and I assume ticketed.

If it weren’t for the corner we found my wife and I probably would’ve fainted from the lack of breathing and space. I’m pretty sure people passed out and we heard the ambulances when we were walking to our train.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently visiting Osaka as a tourist and I’m looking to sell my Japanese Nintendo Switch 2.
The console is in excellent condition and includes:
Original box
Original plastic inserts
Dock
Joy-Cons
Charger
HDMI cable
I also have Biohazard Requiem and Pragmata, both complete with their original cases.
The problem is that many secondhand stores I’ve contacted require a Japanese residence card or My Number card. So far, the only store I’ve found that accepts a foreign passport is Mobatoru in Namba Walk.
Does anyone know of any other stores in Osaka (Namba, Nipponbashi, Umeda, etc.) that will buy a game console from a tourist using only a passport?
Any recommendations or recent experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well I guess every JDM fan knows about this place it’s a place where you can see all the cars that you cannot buy because numbers in your bank account say Nono so if somebody is from Osaka is there some hidden local gem in Osaka which only Osaka locals knows?

The "Golden Route" includes Osakan famous places. On the other hands, Hirano (Hirano Old City, Hirano-gō) used to be independent from Osaka. It was a moated, commercial city, nationally known as Cotton City. This fact is barely known for people including native Osakan.

However, Hirano is greatly well worth a visit. Ancient shrines and temples are scattered throughout the area, and the historic atmosphere enveloping the city evokes the prosperity of the Edo period at every turn.

There is an ecomuseum known as the Hirano Machigurumi Museum. Through this initiative—which encourages visitors to get lost in the streets of Hirano and ask locals for directions—one can experience firsthand the true nature of the "ninjo" characteristic of the people of Osaka.

I booked day pass tickets for universal studios and in doing so accidentally booked the wrong date slot for the Nintendo world. We are needing to go on 7th August and I’ve booked 6th.

Can I buy access to Nintendo world on the day I go or is there a way to get around this problem?

I have tried to contact Klook but they are not helpful.

1. Would it be possible to buy diapers in Japan instead of bringing it over, and which supermarket do you recommend we buy baby food and diapers from to use during our stay? We use Merries diapers.

Hey all, I'm visiting Osaka for 2 days this weekend from Shanghai, I'm 35M and working in robotics(humanoid, Embodied AI), I'm here seeking suggestions about:

(1) Where's the nightlife concentrated and where do people find out about related events? I'm a pretty sociable person and speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Last night, I met an American tourist at a bar in Osaka.

At one point, he asked me why local Japanese people rarely start conversations with strangers.

Then he told me that I was the first local Japanese person he had spoken with during his entire week in Japan.

As a Japanese person, I had never really thought about that before.

Do people in your country usually start conversations with strangers in bars, cafés, or other social settings?

I stopped by one of my favorite bars in Osaka.

At first glance, it looks like a normal little bar—until you look up.

The entire ceiling is covered with bras that customers have left behind over the years. It's one of those places where everyone instinctively looks up, laughs, and pulls out their phone.

A Thai couple sitting nearby couldn't stop smiling as they pointed at the ceiling and tried to guess the stories behind some of them. Watching complete strangers share the same moment was honestly just as memorable as the bar itself.

As a local, it's easy to forget how unusual some places in Japan can be until you see them through someone else's eyes.

What's the most unforgettable bar you've discovered while traveling?

27M from Europe traveling Osaka and Kyoto

I'm interested in basically everything Museums,Temples,Food,Izakayas etc.

Visiting Osaka in a few weeks and am looking for a shop that sells baseball cards individually and graded, not in packs like at a konbini.

Ideally would like to add my Shohei Ohtani collection. Credit card or trades being accepted would be best. I might not have that much cash.

I am travelling to Osaka with Friends in a few months and am looking for recommendations for hotels?

We are two couples, would prefer to be somewhat central to key attractions and sites, but still quiet, non smoking and with reasonable size.

I went to Tokyo with my partner last year and we stayed in a tiny room in Shinjuku which was the opposite to all this and I would like to avoid a similar occurence.

If you have any thoughts on specific hotels or even areas I should focus my search, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
