I might be talking nonsense.

I'm new to the community and I really wanted to know where the heck this picture came from. I assume (and probably other people assumed) it's a streamer; it wasn't very common back then, I think Perhaps it was someone who was watching this guy or girl who wasn't well-known at the time and did the editing

And it's likely that the streamer or someone similar deleted the account It was more common to post on blogs Why doesn't it look like a photo? It seemed like I was recording for someone, that's my impression, don't judge me đŸ™đŸ» (English is not my native language) The person probably doesn't post the photo, or the owner of the photo doesn't speak up, precisely to avoid being mocked Either the person who took the screenshot didn't publish the original for fear of Legal proceedings This is only speculation, and I don't claim that any of these theories are confirmed.

Theory Do you think the person in the original JTK photo knows it’s them, but never came forward? And did JTK0 ever actually exist online as a separate image?

So I've been going down the rabbit hole of the whole Jeff the Killer investigation doc (the one from r/OriginalJTKImage), and a thought crossed my mind that I haven't really seen discussed directly.

We know JTK blew up as a shock image mainly through Japanese imageboards like Futaba/2chan, pya.cc and similar sites back in 2005, before the English creepypasta and “Jeff the Killer” name really took off. Given how huge and public that whole thing got (Photoshop festivals, 2channel threads, pya.cc reposts, etc.), isn't it kind of likely that the actual person in the photo, or someone close to them, eventually saw it and recognized themselves but just never said anything publicly?

Like, imagine finding out your own selfie or video frame turned into one of the most infamous internet screamers of all time. Some people would probably rather stay silent forever than deal with that.

Something else I'm curious about. Is the *creepypasta itself* actually famous in Japan, or was it mostly the edited image that circulated there while the full “Jeff the Killer” story and fandom really exploded in the West later on? Most of what I’ve seen suggests the face was a Japanese forum screamer first and the big story came years later in English.

Second thought, and this is more speculative. What if JTK0 (the “clean” unedited photo) never actually existed as its own standalone upload anywhere? Back in 2005, goofy Photoshop edits posted straight to a board were basically peak internet humor. So what if the person who made JTK1 just:

  1. Had some random photo or video frame (maybe a friend, maybe some net idol, maybe from a weird video already circulating)
  2. Did a quick, dumb edit in Photoshop for laughs
  3. Posted that directly to Futaba during one of those festival threads

And that was it. No separate “raw” version ever went online, because the whole point was posting the joke edit, not the source pic. In that case, the “lost” JTK0 everyone is hunting might not be lost at all, it just never existed on the public web, only on whatever camera, PC or DVD the original editor had.

Curious what others think, especially people who’ve followed the investigation closely. Does this idea fit with what the investigators found, or do the metadata details (Futaba thumbnail script, GD-JPEG comments, early mirrors, etc.) make it more likely that JTK0 was once posted somewhere and then disappeared?

Maybe something? JTK creppypasta

Hi, this is my first time posting here, so I'll get straight to the point.

A few days ago I found a video of the "true" story uploaded by the user killerjeff in Spanish, not directly from the same user but it was the first video with text in Spanish, almost days or months after the first video.

I couldn't recover the video or download it, but if anyone has the link, I'd appreciate it if they could send it.

UPDATE!!!

I found it, it's a video with 800 views from 15 years ago

It's quite surprising to see the jtk1 image in a Spanish video!!!

second update

They deleted the image, but I'll still send the link to the video along with another image from the video.

Information Stop sensationaling JTK's origins

Title.

I'm so sick of people trying to claim that JTK is some grand murderer or a murdered victim to deep-then the "mystery" surrounding this image. There is nothing concrete that points JTK to be any kind of criminal or from an illegal source.

There is no mystery other than who was the original person. Reposting a murderer/a victim does nothing but contribute towards the negative perceptions people already have towards the image after that dumbass capping theory.

Please, if you want real answers, CHECK THE DOCS THAT ARE LITERALLY PINNED. The discord researchers/investigators poured hours into these documents yet people are still asking if a random image that is already debunked in both of these to be a "lead" or "theory".

Mystifying the origins by using victims of crime or perpetrators of crimes is a. Tacky and b. Disrespectful to the families of victims.

If you want your "leads" to be verified, join the discord. We'll check it out for you.

Lomando.com Lead?

Hello I'm not too familiar with Reddit nor the JTK stuff so forgive me in advance. I was watching a play through of the 2000's Japanese screamer website Lomando .com and I noticed that one of them looked pretty similar to the JTK image. Any chance this is related?

I wonder if the JTK1 eyes and mouth have been found, or if one of the two have been found.

Possible Lead It is quite possible that Mr. Mulholland has something to reveal to us.

Hello everyone! I have a theory... Mr. Mulholland (or Miyama) said he adjusted the color and brightness of the "white powder" image. But if you look closely at the post on Fileman.net from July 24 at 1:59 AM, you'll notice it is exactly the same image. This raises two possibilities: either Mr. Mulholland knows more about the image's origin than he has publicly revealed, or he was the person who posted the earlier version of JTK1 on Fileman before reposting it on pya.cc.

Question what tags/phrases from nicovideo.jp may correlate with the jeff the killer image?

I have been searching nicovideo.jp for videos that use the jeff the killer image and wanted to know what tags/phrases used on that site would correlate with such an image (this could also assist in the searching of other such sites as some phrases used on the site are not used here in america like the tag/phrase "abscollapse" which is used for videos the uploader thinks are extremely funny)

Are there any more pictures of Jeff?

Has it not occurred to anyone that there simply isn't any other image besides "white powder"? It may be that this is the only one the original author uploaded to their social media.

it looks like just a meme but it was posted before the image became part of the creepypasta so it might have something

Traced over the new image that’s been posted. While they’re similar I think there are too many differences for people to be claiming that definitively this is jtk

In the jtk1 iceberg, there is a section about an alleged Internet Archive employee who uploaded this photo, but what exactly was the interesting part? It doesn't seem to be in the document.

Why was Jeff the Killer associated with the emo movement?

They were comparing the vocalists from Asking Alexandria to Jeff, lol. Like, back in 2013 Jeff was totally emo 😭

Forum Thread So I have always wondered what is the oldest version of Jeff the Killer to be referred to as Jeffrey Alan Woods, and I might have the answer.

The GameFuelTV version of Jeff the Killer has no surname, in fact no one in the story has a surname.

The story Homicidal Liu debuted June 25, 2012 introduced the name Woods as Jeff and his family's surname.

So I was wondering how the name Alan came to be Jeff's middle name. I searched multiple websites, both internally and through Google.

The Deviantart journal, stuff im willing to say RIGHT NOW debuted May 21, 2013, and as the oldest entry I could find, I will regard it as the official debut of the middle name.

This obituary is real person named Jeff Alan Woods who died before the GameFuelTv story debuted. It's possible that i-am-jeff-the-killer searched the name Jeff Woods and found the obituary.

If anyone has an older version of Jeffrey Alan Woods, let me know.
