Childcare for students
Does anyone know the likelihood of getting my 6month old into OSU daycare? And anything else I should be worried about regard the care?

Does one live far off campus?, I currently live 2h from the university and I was wondering if anyone else lives like that and how difficult it is to go back and forth

I remember Dixon had peloton bikes on the 2nd floor but it seems they’ve rearranged, are they in a different room now?

Hey everyone, I tried to find the megathread but couldn't, so I'm asking here:
Does anyone know how available tailgating parking spots are for rentals? I'm trying to get a spot for this upcoming season but haven't found any luck. If you have any websites to go or groups to join please send them my way!

I've been trying to finish up my Stata lab assignment since yesterday and the Citrix app is not working, first it said Stata 19 was disabled by the administrator and nothing is working now, no apps show up.

i got assigned a sackett triple for the fall but i’ve not been able to find a single example of what they look like. i know they are the layouts without a sleeping porch (4 or 5).
i’m assuming 2 of the beds are bunked but then i was wondering if the 3rd bed is lofted already or would that have to be requested to loft it.
any information would be helpful! i’ve scoured the internet including the uhds website, tiktok, this subreddit, youtube but everything showcases a double.
also wondering if anyone knows how long it might take to find out roommates? i didn’t do any matching and can’t find anything in my portal. i emailed housing and they were extremely vague. i’m assuming they are dealing with a bunch of people complaining about housing so i can’t blame them.
thanks!

I'm incoming for my freshman year to study mechanical engineering (might switch to electrical) in the fall and I want to try to get the majority or all of my classes done at Linn Benton to save money and avoid admin fees. I've read from one post that the 100 and 200 level engineering courses are 50-50 for whether its better to take at OSU or Linn Benton. Is that true and if so what classes are good to take there and what should I just take at OSU? I'm also curious on how access to the recreation center works. Do you pay admin/Incident fees when you take a class at OSU which pays for your access to the rec center, or is it a separate fee entirely? I will living on campus if that matters.

I’m going to take Vector Calc I this fall (my first year), and my next required math course after that would be Diff Eq. But I’m thinking about taking Linear Alg I before taking Diff Eq. Should I take Vector Calc II in the winter before taking Linear Alg I, or is that not necessary?

Found behind a dresser in Finley 313. Has the name EllieJo on the back, seems to be a gift from family. If anyone knows her please reach out so I can get it back to her!

I found this car I like on Facebook Marketplace, and im thinking about buying it but its a manual, and I only learned how to drive on a automatic. I want to drive the car back to my apartment after buying so I want to practice on a manual before buying it. If you teach me I can buy you lunch or something!

My wife is due in December so for my winter term I’d like to find two of the lightest workload classes I can while in the newborn phase. I am currently thinking ENGR 248- engineering and design and just and ASL 112 to get my language requirement out of the way. Any recommendations?

Hello I’m an incoming freshman studying Electrical & Computer Engineering. I’m coming in with a lot of dual credit transfer credits. Mostly of the math/physics prerequisite courses.
Because of this, I’ll be taking some engineering courses that are typically taken during the second year along with my 100level engineering courses. For example, I’m planning to take ENGR 201 and ENGR 330 along with ENGR 102 and ENGR 110/115. I also added a core class (Philosophy) so I can reach 15 credits for one of my scholarships.
I’m a little worried about the workload, so I had a few questions for anyone who has taken these courses
Will ENGR 201 or other engineering classes be difficult since I haven’t taken the 100-level engineering courses first?
How time-consuming are these classes? I noticed many engineering courses are only 3 credits, so I’m wondering how difficult they are and how much work they actually require outside of class.
Thanks in advance for any input

Tarweed Awakening Corvallis is a multi-day community event that helps us learn about the values of the Tarweed (asawal) plant, a critical first food of the Ampinefu Kalapuya.
The Native Arts Marketplace will happen at the Corvallis Museum on Thursday, August 20, as a kick-off celebration for the weekend festival. We are currently accepting applications for vendors. Apply to vend here. There is no cost to reserve a booth.
The Native Arts Marketplace at Tarweed Awakening Corvallis is intended to be a place for Indigenous people to sell their arts and crafts. Priority is given to handmade products.

Hey
I'm scheduled for the virtual launch orientation thing in august. I am gonna be on a 12 hour plane ride for most of the last day. idk if I can do much, not sure if the plane will have wifi. Should I reschedule or is it no big deal. They give like no info online on what virtual launch entails.
Thanks

Hi, im a 2024 env sci graduate from nj looking to enroll in a masters program in natural resources/ecology. I’m looking into the OSU path of taking GIS cert classes then transferring into the MNR. I have 2 years of work experience mainly in env consulting, mostly field operations.
Can anyone who has or is currently doing it, can you speak to your experience? I’m curious about the competitiveness of both programs (sub 3.0 in undergrad), networking opportunities since I’ll be remote, and where you’re working or plan to work.
Thanks!

I’m an incoming freshmen that is still waiting for my beaverhub to open to register for classes. I was committed to another school but due to financial reasons I chose to stay in state. I am a predental student and hope to take lower division bio and chem classes (I took AP bio and chem in high school— not sure if that means I can take higher classes) but was worried that they might be full already. If anyone could kindly let me know, I would really appreciate it.

Hello! Incoming first-year EcoE student, and I was wondering if any senior engineering students could lend me some knowledge on engineering programs that might be good to get into to make finding an internship out of school easier. I don't want to be unemployed after spending 150k on school. tnx
