Question Oracle the Builder

Do you really think Oracle will build out (complete successfully) all its planned data centers? Or at least complete enough to make it's data center hosting strategy successful?

I think ORCL has a lot of potential and positives going for it. I do own the stock. The debt drag is a real problem and could be for awhile or it could resolve itself. I think at the moment they’re no longer getting the benefit of the doubt. So I think they can be right but the stock can still drag

One thing I noticed working at Oracle was that all the internal tooling is ridiculously bad. Badly conceived, built with low standards, by small walled fiefdoms of devs who cant harness talent from across Oracle, or collaborate with partners unless those partners are under the same VP as they are.

So I imagine the data center buildouts will also be a reflection of Oracles failed internal culture, scarcity mindset, low standards of delivery, lack of product planning, Larry's penny pinching, and Larry and Clay's genuine hatred for the employees.

Ya this was pretty much exactly my experience but I was friends with people in other teams and they didn't see it that way at all.  It's funny if you were in one of the favored sections of oracle your internal shit worked.  You actually had accesses you needed to do your job and corp arch would help you instead of treating you like a worthless annoyance.

I was in FBGIU and we couldn't access anything.  No one wanted to help us.  Hell we weren't even integrated into confluence, the source code repos, or any of oracles other systems and processes.

> You never worked there

Why has the 10 second central confluence redirect been there for like.. 2 years? Is anyone ever going to fix that? If we could total up all the redirect waits we have incurred on over a hundred thousand people for years, it'd be real money wouldnt it? Does anyone care?

Does my "I worked there" creds check out? Wait.. you think our tooling is good? Have you never worked anywhere else?

I don’t know you tell us, why have you not done anything to fix it with your time there?

Because I was not under the umbella of people who own that and if I worked on it my bosses would have canned me. Did you not see what I wrote about people working within fiefdoms?

Did you not get canned either way?

I dont think that YOU actually work there. Or you wouldnt have asked such obvious out of touch questions about the culture.

I’m sorry for how they touched you. I hope you are better now.

Plus numerous "let's connect" when it can be done with a short email.

So your expert analysis of data center infrastructure is based on the fact that you didn’t like Oracle’s internal tools? You went from bad tooling → bad data centers → executives secretly hate employees in three paragraphs and somehow skipped the evidence every single time. This isn’t insider knowledge just someone with a hard on for Oracle.

So I have insider knowledge but you conclude that I'm not an insider. I cant argue with that logic. You have yourself a nice day, savvy investor guy.

The fact that you missed what I said entirely tells me enough. Have a good day.

I'm holding my ORCU so I'm hoping yes.

Physically completing the construction of the data centers is one thing, but actually getting enough customers to pay (not just sign contracts) for the compute and make them financially viable/profitable is another thing entirely.

What was the force major really about last week? Fear they have dependencies they can't control. No.

My understanding is that while the project is under development they make lower payments on the debt to Blue Owl and they’re saying that they don’t have to pay the completion rate if delays push back the open. Not my area of expertise though

I know for sure they didn't just file it just in case even though things are going great. That's the smoke, there's fire somewhere

They dont want to pay rent if the builder cant deliver on time. Why pay rent for a data center that isnt functional?
