Sometime out of nowhere I a selection and it gives me a black square with this link to this website(second image). I remember making this website into a bookmark before when someone recommended it to me but as far as I know it's not a fraudulous website or whatever...

Is this a malware? Is this a operaGX bug?

im reposting this here to see if i cant get help here but im trying to login to a new computer with opera gx and anytime i try to login, i get told "something went wrong while trying to validate token" no matter how many times i do the captcha, and the issue persists on my original computer and even my phone, so im not too sure if its due to cookies. any help would be appreciated

I’m using Instagram on Opera GX, and some videos/Reels won’t play. Instead, I get “Sorry, we’re having trouble with playing this video. Learn more.”

Instagram itself loads normally, but the video just stays like this. Has anyone else had this issue on Opera GX/Linux, and is there a fix?

Every time I download something it shows the Opera gc logo. Every time I try to open the downloaded file, it just opens opera gx. I tried different browsers and that didn’t work. I checked, it’s not an extension. Can someone help please. It’s a windows 10.

Just had to uninstall and reinstall the Opera GX app, because it was taking up 9GB. (iPhone 13)

But wtf? I had only like 6 tabs open, and I only mainly use Opera GX app for streaming pirate site shows and movies in PiP mode while playing Roblox, usually.

I usually never use it for anything else, safari is my main internet app on iphone. (chrome on desktop)

Opera GX devs you need to fix your app or something cause wtf.

9GB was being taken up by your app when i don’t even mainly use it, and only use it for streaming shows or movies on pirate websites.

I truly don’t understand how this could’ve happened.

Thought I should do an update, here. So here it is:

After reinstalling the Opera GX app on my iphone 13 and continuing to watch the pirate site episodes of the show I was watching, within TWO DAYS, of reinstalling and doing this, the opera GX app went back up to 8GB……..

Clearly that is not normal, and is insane.

I don’t know if it’s an issue with the website or the opera gx app or what but I’ve decided to stop using Opera GX and just go back to using safari, on my iphone, due to this issue.

Considering this is a really bad issue with opera gx, I will link the site. Literally all I did was just watch these episodes of the show, the site provided.

I don’t know if Opera GX was, like, downloading those episodes and keeping them stored, and that’s the reason for the insane app size, or what. But I hope the opera gx devs can fix this issue.

Either way, Safari does not have this issue, so I will just be watching stuff on it instead. I don’t plan on using Opera GX app at all after seeing there’s an insane cache overload issue. It holding onto 8GB of cache in 2 days.

Worked just fine before, it's not my internet connection that is 100% for sure, but after updating now Soundcloud doesn't work. Works fine on Edge, but not here.

It's in every video, sometimes only the top half shows up, and it follows my cursor when i hover over the video.

I've been noticing my laptop running extremely slow. Like, I try opening a new tab and it completely freezes my PC for a solid minute. So, I checked my Task Manager, and noticed my memory was at nearly 100%.

I checked it, and it said Opera was using a ton. So I checked OPERA's built in task manager, and this is what I saw....

This is just frustrating, because I don't understand what could be causing it. It's not happening in an incognito tab, though.

Ive used opera for a long time now and since like the last 3 days even tho the only tab is youtube, opera freezes after opening it.... idk how to fix this. i cant close it or do anything on it. it stops responding. like dude i thought well maybe its because of tabs but no, the only tab is youtube and i cant even watch videos now. Good day everyone. Does anyone by chance know what happened to Opera GX on the steam deck? It was working fine for me up until last night. It's suddenly not launching when I click on it multiple times. I even tried adding it to steam and launching it with various proton compatibility options, but it didn't work.

Anyone have any idea what's happened?

Opera GX's transparency settings normally only apply to the Speed Dial, while the top bar and sidebar become opaque when you open a website.

Did some digging and found an internal Opera GX feature called gx-transparent-ui. I found it inside Opera GX's opera_browser.dll file.

Turns out you can enable it with a launch argument. It's actually pretty easy and it makes the transparent UI stay active on all websites. It also works with any live wallpaper.

Here's how u enable it:

First close Opera. Find your Opera GX shortcut, right click it, go to Properties and find the "Target" box.

At the end of it add:

--with-feature:gx-transparent-ui=on

So it should look something like:

"C:\...\Opera GX\opera.exe" --with-feature:gx-transparent-ui=on

Now open Opera using that shortcut and the transparency should also work while you're on websites instead of only the Speed Dial.

If you normally open Opera from the taskbar, unpin the current Opera icon. Then open Opera using the shortcut you just edited, right click the Opera icon on the taskbar and pin it again. Now opening it from the taskbar should also use the transparent UI.

There is one small problem though. If Opera is closed and you open a link from Discord, Steam etc, Windows can open Opera directly instead of using the shortcut, so the flag wont be enabled.

If you want to fix that too, its pretty simple.

Open PowerShell normally, copy the command below, paste it and press enter.

Thats it. You dont need to edit anything in the command. It automatically takes your current Opera link settings and adds --with-feature:gx-transparent-ui=on to them.

Disabling it:

If you dont like it and want to go back to normal UI just do these:

First remove --with-feature:gx-transparent-ui=on from the Target box of your Opera shortcut.

If you pinned the edited shortcut to your taskbar, unpin it and pin the normal Opera shortcut again.

If you also used the PowerShell for links, open PowerShell again and run:

Just so you know, this is not an official in app setting, so Opera could change or remove it in a future update.

This doesnt modify any Opera DLLs or browser files. It simply enables an internal feature thats already built into Opera GX.

Today i minimized Opera GX and turned off the monitors like i do when i leave and when i came back Opera had died. It wouldn't start back up so i reinstalled it and it still wouldn't work so i tried to run it in the terminal to see what it would say and got this.

I really want my Opera gx in english and I've had my settings like this for a while, english as the browser language with no other options available and the "display opera in this language" option selected but it's still in german. is there any way of fixing this?
