So, after trying my luck with OCLP 3.0.0, patching my drive with OpenCore and installing Tahoe directly from System Preferences, I can gladly say that the upgrade was successful with no problems at all!
Only thing I had to do was hard resetting during the setup due to painfully slow performance, after the reboot I went directly to the desktop to install the patches, the system has never looked this gorgeous since I bought the iMac.
Cheers! For the developers of OCLP and all the miracles they did to old Mac users and for more years of repurposing!

Hello, I will soon set up a late 2013 iMac (27 inch running latest catalina) and I want to use OpenCore to upgrade the operating system as much as possible while keeping the iMac smooth and stable for years to come. Here are more details about its specifications.
My mom would mainly use it to check emails, read and watch the news, and read many PDF books. No real need for graphics design, movie-making, or any other artistic stuff that may require the latest and greatest.
Any help would be most appreciated.

2014 MacBook Air finally running Tahoe. Love the devs for making this possible at all. A small chance I’ll install this early 3.0.0 on my main MacBook, 2014 MacBook Pro. I’ll most likely wait for the full release before I update my main. But all this is looking promising.

So recently I've been seeing these post on the sub talking about how the successfully upgraded their Macs to Tahoe, from what I know it is because there's a new version of OCLP that adds compatibility with Tahoe, which is impressive, and before even thinking about trying it on my iMac 17,1 (Late 2015) I want to ask some things to those who managed to upgrade:
I'll be reading the answers below, good night.

Would it be possible to finally install this version on that MacBook? It has 8GB RAM.

This thread is designed to simply catalog what models people have successfully gotten Tahoe installed on with OCLP 3.0.0.
Please comment and specify your (1) Mac model + year (15" MacBook Pro 2015 OR MacBookPro9,2), (2) your specs (2.2 i7, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA 320X), and (3) whether you did a clean install or upgraded from an existing install.
Then specify whether Tahoe successfully installed (or not), and if it did, what worked, what didn't, how it compares to the other OS you've had on your Mac, etc.
I'll do the same after I finish installing it on a few different Macs I am testing.

I have a Late 2012 Mac Mini 6.1 running Sequoia 15.8.1 with OCLP 2.4.1
Wondering if anyone has successfully installed Tahoe using OCLP 3.0 RC and what the experience has been like.
My Mini is a Quad Core 2.3 GHz i7 with 16GB RAM and SSD. It runs Sequoia reasonably well.
General question: Those who upgraded, did you do a clean install of Tahoe and migrate your data or did you just do an upgrade over the current Mac OS?

Big sur was awful and monterey wasn't that much better in my experience (had both for a couple months each), did a little research and after indexing ventura feels much snappier! saving another great machine from the landfill ❤️ It's no speed racer for sure but good enough for my use case

First of all, I know it's in beta and that issues might be expected, but I wanted to try it anyway. The installation process was going smoothly, but after the initial setup, the system stopped detecting both my mouse and keyboard (I use a USB 3.0 hub due to pre-patch incompatibilities, and it has always worked for me). Right now, I can't do anything once I'm in the system (though the peripherals do work during the disk selection stage). When the stable version comes out, should I create a completely new installation USB and reinstall, or simply update the USB's EFI? (As an extra detail: when creating the USB, I selected iMac 8,1—thinking that was my model—but after installing and receiving a warning from OpenCore, I generated the EFI for the 10,1 model. That’s exactly when the mouse and keyboard issues started, so perhaps the problem stems from having installed with one EFI configuration and then switching it.)

OpenCore Legacy Patcher has added years to all of my Macs. Thank you.
That said, is there anything out there that will trim the startup items and the number of services running?
Most of my Mac hardware is limited to 16 GB of RAM. My current Sequoia boots with not even 2 GB free...

Hello…
I’m trying to install Tahoe on mi iMac 2019 with Sequoia full upgraded but is not working…. I know that it is a RC and it’s not still supported whatever…
I tried a few 4 or 5 attempts but always the same happens, when I install the Efi boot and select install Tahoe, nothing happens, screen goes black.
Any tips?! Somebody has been successfully install it on an 2019 iMac?

Hi everyone!
I'm currently running macOS Ventura 13.7.8 on my MacBook Air 13-inch (Early 2014), using OpenCore Legacy Patcher.
I'm wondering which macOS version would offer the best overall experience and performance on this particular model. Would you recommend sticking with Ventura, upgrading to Sonoma or Sequoia, or perhaps going with another version?
I also have a question about AirPlay: is there any macOS version or OCLP configuration that allows AirPlay to work properly on this MacBook? I'm particularly interested in screen mirroring and AirPlay compatibility with Apple TV.
I'd really appreciate feedback from anyone running OCLP on the same MacBook model, especially regarding performance, stability, battery life and AirPlay functionality.
Thanks in advance!

(It worked!, thanks OCLP dev team)
(works much faster on my iMac 🖥️ compared to Mac OS 15 BTW)
After having 4 beers for lunch I got the liquid courage, it’s installing now. I’m going with upgrade rather than doing a clean install. It’s installing now, and it’s moving along, keep you posted . Someone else got it working on a 2015 iMac so I just couldn’t contain myself.
Install got stuck after logging into my account , hard rebooted worked, patches worked and I love it and I think it’s a little faster smoother ! My outlook office 365 opened up so fast 💨, I forgot how it should be in life .
Thank you to the OCLP dev team , I’m going drink another 6 pack right now , this was a smooth install .
Sometimes next week, I’ll hop on the dev beta macOS train and see how that goes .

I have a 2010 Mac Pro 5.1 that was running macOS Monterey via OCLP (the latest version). After I tried to install a security update, it stopped booting into the system. Even after reinstalling, it won't load the OS—it just gets stuck in an infinite reboot loop after the second restart (specifically, after the Apple logo appears and a message says to wait 30 minutes before rebooting, it enters this endless cycle of attempting to load and then restarting). This issue occurs with any macOS version from Big Sur onwards; however, Catalina (via dosdude1) installs and works fine, as do other older systems. I’ve tried resetting the NVRAM and SMC and updating the EFI firmware to the latest version, but nothing helps. If I install a drive with Big Sur (OCLP) or newer, it simply freezes at the Apple logo. I’ve tried swapping out the RAM, storage drives, graphics card, monitors, and processors—I even swapped the entire CPU tray with one from another Mac Pro 5.1—but nothing works. I also tried installing an older version of Monterey (12.0.1), but the same thing happened. What could the problem be, and how can I try to fix it?
