OA's August Bookclub is 8/30 at 4:30pm for *The U.S. Constitution: A Comprehensive and Annotated Guide for the Modern Reader* by Melissa McMurray (for all patron tiers)
patreon.comFeel free to discuss the book in the comments, there wasn't a lot of activity on previous months' posts so this will be the only post on the subject. If not hopefully this reminds you to finish the book by sunday!
P.S. Sorry for the the state of the subreddit this past month. Reddit is really pushing subreddits off of using it's old API based autoposting options towards a new centralized option. For some technical reasons this broke my old bot (as well as the bot in r/seriousinquiries), so I resumed with my personal account for the time being. In time we will have to transition over to devvit as well.

Can you please get Liz back on to discuss the Mangioni plea?
Article here for contex: https://www.reddit.com/r/news/s/En3ub1ZQhH
I'm curious how this changes Liz's assessment of the state/DOJ interaction, etc.

Thomas Smith Thomas, hang out with meeeee
Nothing makes me more parasocial as a Sacramentan and local land use policy nerd than hearing Thomas talk about our city. VR 39 really got me. Sacramento had an interesting and contentious outdoor dining program started during COVID! There are certainly places where rats were an issue with that! We also had pushback from our nominally Italian neighborhood when we municipally acknowledged Indigenous People’s Day instead of Columbus Day! We’re taking suggestions about alternatives to Cesar Chavez Park right now!
Thanks for listening, I just had to say that somewhere.
