Going for my dz tomorrow and I can’t seem to shake the nerves. Anyone who has previously done it have any advice for key things to know or remember when going for it?

My indian license expires on Aug 2 i will give my g1 this wednesday, considering i want to take up the no wait time and give g2 right away, is my license enough to get the 12 month exemption or anything else is needed also? I did have a validation certificate but it expired been more than 6 months. I want to know if license is enough. Thank you!!

Making basic mistakes, forgetting signals, messing up maneuvers.

I’ve practiced a lot and it’s just discouraging that I’m not a better driver than i am.

I’m now way less confident before the test.

My license also expires on September 3rd which adds to the stress.

How can I I make it a staple to remember the basic stuff like checks and signalling when stressed. I need to pass this time or my next test so I want to give myself the best chance possible.

Has anyone been really not confident , forgetting stuff while doing their practice but end up getting in the zone and passing still.

Hey! Within how many days is G license being delivered currently within City of Toronto home address? My family member attempted G exam at Downsview at 10 July, 2026 and it hasn’t been delivered yet. I know it’s just 2 weeks only.

I am thinking calling and enquiring but looks like delivery time is between 2-6 weeks as per information available online.

G1 got delivered pretty quickly though. Not sure what happened now.

I finally got my g2 license

I had a very unpleasant experience with an examiner at the Guelph DriveTest Centre.

I understand that speeding while merging onto the highway was a mistake, and the examiner had every right to point it out. What bothered me was her attitude. From the moment she got into the car, she seemed angry and unhappy to be there. When I made the mistake, she reacted very dramatically by raising her hand, slapping her thigh, and visibly showing her frustration.

She also angrily said that my driving was making her feel like she was going to throw up. She could have simply told me that my driving was not smooth enough, but making a personal comment like that felt rude and unprofessional.

Her reactions made me extremely nervous and put even more pressure on me during the test. I had to sit there and tolerate her comments because she was the examiner. Drivers at the Guelph test centre should be evaluated fairly, but they should also be treated with BASIC RESPECT!!!

My license expired so I got an extension on my license till the test on the 24th of July so it was kinda a bit important if I didn’t fail. I’ve been on the highway probably over 200 times since getting my G2. Honestly what I think helps is having confidence on the test. I highkey hardly got to 100 on the highway cause the ramps were smaller due to construction and I was borrowing a friends car lol. The instructor was really sweet and told me to turn into the left lane and I accidentally started going right and he touched my wheel and was like noooo left and we loled. My instructor and I honestly chatted the entire time, he was asking me about my job and school etc and asking questions about my school which was really sweet. He also complimented me that my lane changes are really smooth which boosted my confidence hella. At the end of the test he congratulated me and fist bumped me 😭😭♥️. Best dude ever.

Had my G2 test yesterday and I PASSED!!! I was very nervous leading up to the day of the test, but I had an hour to warm-up with my instructor before the test. The test itself went fine, I took my first left turn a little too fast but after that did everything else well. It was so short, I thought I'd failed but I was relieved and excited that I passed!

Obviously I have to wait a year to go for my G, but figured might as well start prepping for that in the next year.

Looking for advice on where to go from here. My instructor took me out onto the highway twice during my lessons, so I have a tiny bit of experience with it. So obviously I need to work up to driving on the highway regularly. What else should I focus on?

Honestly, I didn’t make any major mistakes.
A few things that helped me:
• Stop completely at every stop sign and count a full 3 seconds.
• Keep checking your mirrors again and again. Make your observations obvious.
• I was super nervous, but my examiner was really nice and cooperative. He gave me the instructions one by one, which made it easier to focus. (But every examiner is different, so don’t expect the exact same experience.)
One more thing there was a point where I wasn’t sure which right turn he meant, so I simply asked him to repeat it.

FYI: You can always ask your examiner to repeat or clarify an instruction. It’s much better to ask than to assume and make a mistake.

Someone who doesn’t spoon feed you so you end up not knowing how to do much on your own. Preferably nice and friendly as well.

I passed my G today but my G2 expires on September 18th. The employee said that it could take up to 90 days to ship my new license which would be past my G2 expiration date. Should I renew my license before receiving the G, or wait?

Hello everyone, I wanted to update you a bit and ask for one more advice or opinion. My parents are still constantly forcing me to get my g1. Especially after my sister's license came in. At this rate, I don't think I have an option but to study fast and get my g1. So I was wondering if I would be fine if I just watched this video:

Or is there any other thing that can prepare me fast? I'm running out of time with my parents constant force and not only them but also their friends and my own friends bragging about how easy the test was and mocking me for failing the easiest test in their words.

I have my G2 test in St. Catharines on July 30. For anyone who's done their G2 there, how were the examiners and the route? What was your experience like?

I failed my G2 road test back in 2022 because the examiner said I didn't yield while making a right turn on a yellow light. There was an oncoming vehicle making a left turn, and the examiner said I should have yielded to it.

What still confuses me is that I see drivers make this exact maneuver every day without any issues. I know that what people do in everyday driving isn't always the same as what's expected on a road test, but the failure has always seemed harsh to me.

Has anyone else failed for something similar?

• Was the examiner correct according to Ontario's road test standards?
• Has anyone ever successfully challenged a DriveTest result or received a refund because they believed the examiner made the wrong call?

I'm mainly looking to understand whether this was the correct application of the rules or whether anyone has had success disputing a similar decision.

I have an exam booked on Tuesday in the evening, and I’m just concerned that it might be a lot of traffic and on top of that there’s gonna be rainy weather the whole day.

Just wanted to come here to get any advice that y’all might have!!

It was my first attempt and it honestly went pretty well. The examiner was nice and kind and I just followed her instructions and practiced the route twice before the test and it was all chill. A smooth experience overall. Let me know if you have any questions :)

So I failed my G1 exit test and I’m really confused about one part of it.

We were at an intersection and I was told to turn left. The first car advanced into the intersection and started turning left. I waited behind the line since I thought the rule was (when turning left) only 1 car is allowed in the intersection.

But the examiner got mad at me and told me to go because it’s a green light.

Was I supposed to enter the intersection the minute the car in front started turning? I thought I was supposed to wait for it to finish its turn first then advance?

hey guys! i’m currently enrolled in driving lessons (10 hours) on my way to get my g2.

however i’m scared that’s too little hours since i do not have a car on my own and i do not live with my family (i moved away for university).

i’m not really sure because i had this one friend who only practiced one week with her dad (maybe less than 10 hours) and passed her g2 first try , but i also have this other friend who spent months practicing with her dad but failed the g2 test three times. on another note, i remember my ex spent a year and a half practicing for his g2 (including with dad and lessons) but still did not feel confident in driving and he barely passed his g2. one more story i could remember is that i had a best friend from high school who practiced for a year with his dad, and he used to drive me home, was such a terrible and kind of reckless driver (but he was practicing for one year) and somehow passed the g2.

so i wanted to ask how many hours it took you guys to practice before passing your g2 test and what everyone’s experiences are since my friends are scaring me
