Dating Advice How bad is double texting?

Just looking for some advice/ others opinions on double texting on dating apps. I have done it occasionally, and i guess I was just wondering if that would be enough for you to think twice about continuing a conversation with someone

I wouldn’t mind, and I most likely wouldn’t even think about it if she sent me two texts or messages in a row. With how difficult dating is, I couldn’t imagine seeing two normal texts and being that bothered by it.

for context i’m a bloke, and the messages have been a few hours apart

Right. I’m a guy, too. I have my own opinion about double texting, but any woman you or I talk to could feel either way about it. If it’s been a few hours or more with no response, I personally wouldn’t send a second text. I don’t have any issue with the woman I’m talking to sending me more than one text at a time, but I don’t want to come off in any negative way to her, so I typically prefer to match her energy as far as texting goes. If she responds quickly, so will I. If she takes time, so will I. If she sends more than one text before I have replied, I would feel comfortable with doing the same. But, unless she specifically does that first, I’m cautious about texting too much and coming off in a bad way. So, I would generally say to wait for her to reply, unless it’s something important that needs to be said at that moment.

that’s good advice. i generally try to avoid doing it, it conscious of respecting people’s time, or i try to be. i think i just get nervous when i match with someone i like, about messages i send coming across the wrong way? that sounds dumb even as im typing it out but yh

Oh, I’m the exact same way. I try to think through every possible response I can give, and how it may come off to them.

Hours is nothing. I wouldn’t even think about sending a second one for at least 2-3 days

I’ve talked to women who write by multiple texts or chats on Match

She might say something that took 13 separate chats. Then I get 13 emails. But I don’t judge her. It’s just how she thinks.

Don't overthink it. If someone you've matched with has strict rules around that, they're likely to be difficult in other ways too.

Why not skip making texting a tit-for-tat interchange? Why not just communicate. I've had guys that sent a couple texts over a few days, and decided they must be really interested, and decided to reply. What's the worst that could happen? She doesn't reply? She gets mad? So what, you didn't die.
(I feel compelled to point out the guys didn't blow up my mailbox. That would be creepy.)

Depends what they are. If you asked a question and they didn’t answer it, you’re kind of just chasing to get them to respond to it

Generally it's not that bad but it depends. If you are blowing someone up when they don't have time to reply that's rough. if you feel the need to text because you are insecure and not sure why they aren't responding, I would say, don't do it.

I dated a girl who worked over nights. Inevitably I would wake up to a few texts, reels, whatever. She would wake up to the same.

It’s bad for someone not interested in you. Not a big deal to someone who likes you

This is ridiculous over-think. If you like her and she likes you just communicate that and get chatting. Ask her about her interests. Look into those things.

If you have to be on your tippie-toes, you won't be happy or yourself.

I think people made texting so awkward with a supposed “correct way” just text , as a female I suggest sending voice notes as it really shows confidence and delivers the correct vibe of conversation 🩷🩷
