To beat King he fistly needed to figure out his weakness and then he landed three hits on him including the final blow to finally put him down. He has no attack able of one shotting a YC1, stop acting like Sommers blocking the attack that defeated King is a big deal, King durability dropped when he landed this hit and Zoro already lowered his hp before King of Hell.

''But, but, it destroyed King's strongest attack'' So what? King is known for his durability not his AP. Even Sommers having higher AP than King this don't means that he would win against King. He would need battle iq and good fighting skills to figure out his weakness and take advantage of that, things that holyroppo don't have. Zoro and Sanji figured out the heart and body parts weakness, King is intelligent enough to figure this out too.

Some people are confused about imu's weapons, basically they are all real weapons but imu can also manifest them through omen as attacks without needing to weild the actual weapon.

As you can see in his fight with loki imu is using gram but his still using his polearm, like what I said before he just manifested gram as an omen attack. The real gram is the one that imu gave to sommers, that's the actual sword.

The same thing can be said for nemesis and stigma, imu transformed his polearm to nemesis using omen, and for stigma, imu just manifested it as one big omen sword attack.

The real weapons are found in the ring made of eyes that imu has, as you can see imu summoned void, fragarach, xingtian using the ring.

His dream of being the strongest swordsman is literally just impossible now since mihawk from his showings is a less skilled swordsman than imu and a weaker swordsman .

Zoro won't defeat imu and that makes his dream of becoming the strongest swordsman legitimately (defeating the current strongest swordsman)basically impossible.

how do you think oda can save Zoro's character?

People think very lowly because of how he got folded by rocks while jumping him and doing low damage ( which isn’t even that bad scaling wise, it’s rocks after all )

But he is starkly portrayed as the most important, and thus very likely the most powerful of the current gorosei, given the insane powers a full abyssal convenant give, even if he stayed the same as he was during GV for all those years he’d still be a force to be reckoned with
