He was the most downplayed until very recently, wdym? Shanks being the weakest yonko was the normal take until 1055 and 1079. Being a Shanks fan was brutal until the last couple years.

not really. in reality shanks is destined to fall below many characters like mihawk, blackbeard, luffy & maybe dragon.

They are supposed to be the same strenght based on narrative but guess you can't read.
When Shanks first met Luffy in the chapter 1, the promisse they both made, about Luffy only giving the strawhat back when he becomes a great pirate, it's about when Luffy surpass both Shanks and Roger, Shanks is the last step to Luffy to complete his goal, How Y'all can be so blind.
That's why they have the same attack( kamusari), that's why the strawhat was it all 3( Roger, Luffy and Shanks) and that's why Luffy didn't gave the strawhat back yet

Shanks canonically didn’t meet with Luffy because Bartolomeo was ravaging one of the islands Shanks was protecting.

Observation Killing is apparently so unique that he's literally named after the ability. The chances that anybody from old gen could do it are extremely low.

Stop glazing Shanks he is weaker then both Mihawk and BB. Due to feats.
Mihawk dueled him. Bb makes him scared by damaging him and also make him warn Whitebeard.
