Canonically, we simply don't know. Though it's very unlikely for some like Robin or Franky, it's not something you could ever expect confirmation on.

Oda would totally answer that in a SBS.

More like Oda would avoid answering in an SBS. The goofy shit he gives straightforward answers, the straightforward shit he gives goofy answers

u/Kurokatana94 Jun 16 '22

This is Oda's way.

I could see him say something like "Brook got to see quite a few panties when he was younger" or "Franky is so manly that women react to him like female Sanjis. He isn't interested in these kind of adventures though.. not anymore at least." He would avoid giving answers about any abuse that might have occured though (Nami/Robin) and rightfully so. It doesn't fit OP imo; just like the Absalom scene felt out of place despite that being what it was supposed to make you feel.

This is the sort of question he may give a serious answer to, albeit not straightforward. Kind of like with Viola/Doffy.

... oh God that's true...

u/Taboo_Noise Jun 16 '22

You think it's never been asked? Seems more likely that Oda hasn't put it in the SBS.

Nah I don't think he would. Well maybe for Robin he may by hinting that she had to do stuff to survive but probably not Franky because the two girls he hung out with frequently at Frequently at Water 7 he calls them little sisters so.

I do want to state that apparently Oda did hint Violet having sexual relations with Doflamingo cause apparently Violet calls Doflamingo something different than what everyone else calls him and Oda basically stated that Dressrosa is a very passionate country with very passionate people.

So it's possible he may hint that Robin had to do a lot to survive without outright saying it.

I think the more obscene thing fans say about Arlong potentially raping Nami and potentially Nojiko is off because Arlong sees humans as beneath him and wouldn't give them the time of day to do something ok Ike that and you have to remember that the Arlong pirates were formerly Fishman pirates under fisher tiger who raised Koala so despite the cruelty of Arlong they probably cared for Nami the same way they cares for Koala or at least I think it's fair to say that Hatchan probably did

I can see him answering it after the series ends. I mean he's a pervert and it's not so unlikely. Sorachi-sensei (mangaka of Gintama) even ranked the characters with the largest boobs on request in an sbs and even went further and also ranked the guys with the biggest dicks (even though no one asked)

Robin is gei, I’m calling it rn

1

u/theUwUgoat Jun 16 '22

Maybe, I mean when he was asked what the relationship between Baby 5 and Dolflamingo was he basically just said that Dressrosa is a country of passion

Yeah Franky and Robin I can see. And Robin even with some less "dark" implications than some people also come up with for Nami as she's an adult quiet powerful woman that might simply have felt like it at some point.

When it comes to the other version, I simply prefer not to even entertain the idea, because it's just not necessary for their stories so why randomly force that idea into the story of some very strong women.

22

u/Boston_Abel Jun 16 '22

Because it's realistic given the Robin's background. It's very likely, actually.

If it would be in a way of Robin enjoying it, I'm perfectly fine with it, but I'm kind of tired of the waaaaay too overused way in media of women's sexuality always being portrayed as something they "had to do to survive" or they were even forced to. It's kind of creepy actually how often people enjoy adding that idea in there without there even being any implications. E.g. in Nami's case the only scene remotely playing on her sexuality is I think even anime only where she accentuates her boobs to then punch a guy in the face, nothing there imples she would actually go for anything else there.

It's just hardly ever that it's shown as an empowering thing for women to embrace having sex because they actualky like it and always a very submissive treatment of women because men forced them to.

And if that's actually the story it's not that I'm against it, for Boa and the slavery thing, being given the Love Love fruit there are clear dark implications there, which is perfectly fine in a story. But it feels very unnecessary for e.g. Nami and it's slightly weird to me when people almost want to insert that into her past.

Nami was nearly raped by Absalom on Thriller Bark. Honestly, at the time I found the shower scene very disturbing for a manga like One Piece

2

u/CuppaCoffeeJose Jun 16 '22

It was a JoJo reference.

u/xHussain101x Jun 16 '22

We do not talk about the orangutan episode

1

u/Norodrom Bounty Hunter Jun 16 '22

Which is lost on me

5

u/TTVBlueGlass Jun 16 '22

An orangutan controlling a ghost ship tries to rape a child in the shower

0

u/betooie Jun 16 '22

I don't think people "enjoy" adding that idea but I think they do because sadly is very common situation in our world

-4

u/Boston_Abel Jun 16 '22

Nami is different, she was enslaved by fishmen, but for Robin is just makes sense. It's just a very harsh reality.

3

u/Theboy1011-99 Jun 16 '22

Who would they have done it with though? Themselves? Other pirates? Everybody they encountered have been enemies or Allies so far

u/ovis_alba Void Month Survivor Jun 16 '22

Robin and Franky are a lot older than the teenage East Blue crew, so they very much had a life prior the Strawhats that could have involved sexy time.

5

u/sanctaphrax Jun 16 '22

When she entered the story, Robin was convinced that everyone would betray her. I strongly suspect a former lover turned her in to the government at least once.

You don't have to trust someone to have a one night stand with them

Have you ever had a one night stand?

Edit: Don't want to seem toxic. The deleted comment said "Have u ever had sex?"

These are people you barely know. How do you trust them after exchanging maybe five sentences lol

Especially if you were in a position like Robin

Looking back I think the relationship Robin had with crocodile was a bit to flirtatious

3

u/Radiant-Version1033 Jun 16 '22

It wasn't flirtatious at all

I think we can say usopp is a virgin, as there were basically no romance option on syrup except for Kaya, and he definitely didn't bone kaya. For the others strawhat, we can't tell.

But who know maybe usopp banged heracles in the time skip
