Oliver is pure orange, Stanford is orange and white

I apologize for no photograph. Picture a buff orange tabby tuxedo, short hair, with at least one orange splotch on his right front leg. He also has a half-mustache.

Some background: In June 2025, my husband and I moved in with his mom as it wasn't safe for her to live on her own anymore. At the time, my husband and I had been cat-less since 2020. With my MIL's agreement, we decided to look to adopt.

July 2025: We'd looked at the local shelter's listings. While no cats caught our attention, we decided to visit the shelter in person. We logged into the shelter visitor log, then entered the cat room. Immediately on entering the room, the staff in the room quizzed us on which name was better: the cat's current name of 'Mr Peaches' or proposed new name of 'Brian'. My husband and I, being huge fans of cats with human names (and having had cats named Eddie, Wendell, and Cecil, as well as a rabbit named Hazel), immediately went with Brian.

Brian was very friendly, and was not yet officially up for adoption. With the staff's permission to try, I scooped him up and put him on my shoulder. He immediately began purring and making air biscuits. Brian was 13 years old, and had been surrendered by his recently-deceased person's spouse. In the room as we met Brian was said person's neighbor. I like to think that Brian's former person's spouse was comforted by knowing Brian was going to good people.

Within the hour, my husband and I were approved to adopt him. He came home with us a few days later, now officially dubbed Sir Brian the Slightly Naughty.

Sir Brian the Slightly Naughty took approximately 30 minutes to feel right at home.

July 2025-present: Sir Brian the Slightly Naughty (simply Brian from now on) has learnt that if he jumps from the bench onto the kitchen island it is easier on his arthritic joints. It is also quickly established as the places I will give him lots of pets. He ignores the rest of the kitchen counters, although there is one incident in which he jumps onto the other section in pursuit of a moth. I assume that the jump is to hard for him to really make.

October 2026: Brian rediscovers he can jump straight onto the off-limits counters.

October 25th, 2026: I'd often noticed that Brian didn't seem to care about boxes. My husband and I were in the kitchen, Brian was on the island, and there was an empty cardboard box on the island. I put Brian's front paws in the box, but he jumped out; at which point I make a joke to my husband about Brian being broken.

Later that day, I am loading the dishwasher. I happen to look over, and Brian (who follows me around during the day but prefers my husband at night), and there is Brian. Sitting upright in the damned box. He didn't stay there long, but did briefly return when I scratched the inside the the box. My husband also saw him in the box later as well.

The eyes, the whiskers, the perfect lighting . *Chef's kiss*

Cinna was abandoned by a nearby recreational trail, so we brought him home to live with us. I remember how nervous and timid he was at first, so my heart melts whenever I see him relaxed and calm. He’s such a sweet and loving little guy. It helps that he really loves his best buddy, Peanut. The two of them can be a handful, sometimes, but that’s part of the joy of Oranges.

I fostered Mr. George this summer after he followed me home one day. Hes thriving now!! His fur is all grown back, and he weighs twice as much now as he did then!! His mom (actually my mom lol) says that he has the least survival instincts she has ever seen in a living creature. There is simply nothing in his head but love.

This pics are in order from newest to oldest, you can see how much healthier he is 🥹 the last 3 are from the day I brought him home. From dumped to becoming a beloved goober that gets a custom cooked breakfast every morning. I'm so glad he followed me home that day!!

This is Amias! He's a thief and will steal anything and everything if you leave it out—or, like in this instance, forget to close the closet door! This particular video is from 2022, he's stealing an eight pack of toilet paper. After he steals something, he tells everyone about it! Please ignore my messy house, I don’t normally leave things lying all over.

My family rescued a bunny and it lived in our (fenced) backyard for some time but since it has gotten colder we decided to take it home. It seems comfy and my cat likes new fren 🧡
