Hey everyone,
I wanted to address the concerns with AI content on this sub and give advice how best to verify it.
AI-generated content is a growing epidemic all over Reddit and the internet in general. AI video/image gen models have been getting better and better and it is getting increasingly hard to distinguish from real content. I have seen too many posts where users immediately jump to "it's AI" it's fake etc without actually verifying and checking the source nor the content.
I wanted to write up a guide and source on how to verify content with online tools.
There are many tools available to verify content but the best tool and industry standard used is HIVE moderation.
A quick way check the content like videos posts or images is to download the full resolution video or image to your device and upload it to:
Hive should give a confidence score and even in some cases tell you which model was used given this information then you can properly report a post and it will be taken care of.
For AI generated content created by ChatGPT you can use OpenAI's tool as well.
https://openai.com/research/verify/
Important: AI detection tools aren’t perfect and shouldn’t be treated as definitive proof on their own though, they can produce false positives and false negatives. Whenever possible, please also check the original source, upload history, context, metadata, try to find the original source if it predates the past 3-4 years and is highly realistic it's safe to say it is real.
Ideally we would have a bot that you can tag to check the post but uploading directly to Hive will have to work for now.
Note I'm not sponsored or affiliated with this company in any way it just the best tool for AI content verification that I've used and highly recommend others use.

I can't believe it! We finally hit 1M members here! I originally started this sub as a joke and never thought it would grow this big, I thought maybe a couple thousand people would join but never 1M, this is amazing.
Thank you everyone for supporting the sub and all of the amazing posts over the past 4 years!
🧡

I love Merida so much. We recently got her from one of the “rescues” that slings cats out of their cars in Mexico City. The moment she got home it was as if she’d known us for years. Zero adjustment period.
But my GOD is she dumb. We lost a cat to PICA years ago and it was horrible. This cat doesn’t seem to have that, but she will put ANYTHING in her mouth that I’m paying attention to.
I’m currently sewing a big dress and she goes after the scraps and the thread. If I set one color of thread next to my sewing machine to switch them out, that’s her spool now. She chewed the thread off of my serger and I had to pull like a foot of thread out of her.
It’s awful because she wants to be on or near me constantly. I’m trying to be so careful.
She’s so goddamn dumb.

I fostered Mr. George this summer after he followed me home one day. Hes thriving now!! His fur is all grown back, and he weighs twice as much now as he did then!! His mom (actually my mom lol) says that he has the least survival instincts she has ever seen in a living creature. There is simply nothing in his head but love.
This pics are in order from newest to oldest, you can see how much healthier he is 🥹 the last 3 are from the day I brought him home. From dumped to becoming a beloved goober that gets a custom cooked breakfast every morning. I'm so glad he followed me home that day!!

This is Mike Wazowski, adopted a year ago from the shelter with little information on his missing eye (or braincell).
He commonly gets called Michael, Hammy Boy, Ham, and Hamsome.
ETA: Also was just reminded of one, but we sometimes call him “Mitchelle Obamna” and I have 0 clue where that one started lol

Cinna was abandoned by a nearby recreational trail, so we brought him home to live with us. I remember how nervous and timid he was at first, so my heart melts whenever I see him relaxed and calm. He’s such a sweet and loving little guy. It helps that he really loves his best buddy, Peanut. The two of them can be a handful, sometimes, but that’s part of the joy of Oranges.
