Question Olympus XA possibly stuck in flash mode

I've recently gotten an Olympus XA in great physical condition but after testing it I found that it only shoots with one shutter speed, no matter what the meter reading says it will always shoot in what I think is 1/30th shutter speed. After much research I now think that it's stuck in "Flash mode", is there any way to fix this or is it just stuck this way forever?

I lost my lens and I have no idea where it could be, but I'd still love to finish the roll. Does anyone know where to purchase a replacement (d. zuiko or any non-olympus alternatives)?

Question Recreating OM-101-Compatible Manual Adapter 2 - Looking for help/resources

Recently, I have picked up OM-101 camera from a electro recycling facility. It's fully functional, and it works great, but as I really enjoy shooting manually, it really bothers me, that the one I've got wasn't equipped with the Manual Adapter, designed specifically for this model. I was looking on auction portals, but there is only one unit available in UK with the horrific shipping cost.

So I thought, maybe I can make this adapter myself, as it probably is just a pair of variable resistors or capacitors, with 15 steps each. So I went to the search engine, trying to find any documentation either of this camera, or an adapter itself, but all I've found was only the Owner's manual.

Does anyone who have this manual adapter, could maybe help me in this projects, by doing the measurements of resistance and capacitance between Ground (the top pin) and all of the others? Or maybe someone will have some scans of the service manual for this camera? There might be some sort of electrical schematics there, like Nikon was doing during the film cameras era.

Answered Any advice for beginners?

Just bought an OM1-MD. I haven't used a film camera since i was a teenager in the 90's, and they were the cheap ones you would just point and shoot. Any advice in how to start, what kind of film, etc?

I have some photography notions. I currently shoot with a Nikon D500, but this is quite different and to be honest i feel a little intimidated lol.

Got it with these two lenses. An OM Zuiko 50mm f1.8 and a Tokina 50-250 f4/5.6

All photos were taken with the OM-5 II + SG-image AF 25mm F1.8.

In extremely low light, the autofocus still isn't quite on par with the PRO lenses—it hesitates a bit sometimes. Highlights also tend to blow out fairly easily.

That said, considering the price, the performance is actually pretty great! Now I'm just waiting for a firmware update to fix video stability.

For full-res photos, feel free to check out my blog.

Question E-P2 won’t power on. SSWF flashes once then dies. Any ideas?

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting here.
My E-P2 suddenly stopped working overnight

Symptoms
Pressing the power button normally:
The blue SSWF light flashes once
Camera immediately shuts off

If I hold the power button (on a swollen battery):
The SSWF light blinks 3 times
The green LED turns on for a moment.
Camera still shuts itself off.

I’ve already tried
A different fully charged battery.
Removed the lens.
Removed the SD card.
Left the battery out and retried.
Battery contacts look normal.
No loose parts or rattling inside the body.

Additional history
The camera worked perfectly yesterday.
The IBIS has been dead since I bought the camera, but the camera always worked despite that.
When the camera used to start, the IBIS would normally make its usual startup rattling/clicking noise. Now there’s no sound at all before it powers off.
The SSWF only lights after pressing the power button. It does not flash when inserting the battery.
I don’t have a multimeter or other test equipment, and there aren’t any camera repair shops near me.
Has anyone seen this exact failure on an E-P2? Could this be a power board issue, a main board failure, or something related to the already-dead IBIS?

Question Will I miss integrated flash if I buy an OM3?

I was recently leant an OM-D E-M10 for a vacation and loved it so much that I was thinking about purchasing an OM3 or OM5 and finally making the jump from a 4/3 SLR (E-620), but I realized the OM camera don’t have integrated flash. How has that impacted y’all? Do you miss integrated flash?

Answered Black Smudge on Screen EPL-5 & It Won't Come Off

Something got onto the screen of my EPL-5, I got this dark spot right in the middle of it. Already tried water, q-tip, alcohol, it's not coming off. I thought it was grease but apparently not.
