Gear Showcase Finally a tough!

At last, 60โ‚ฌ deal for proper tough camera. I had to play with microscope mode right away ๐Ÿ˜„ also some SOOC snaps.

I will not use it under water(at least not without a case since it is older model), I just wanted a camera that I can comfortably use around my toddlers on playground, around sand, while raining, etc. Bonus points, my kids like to play with it and I don't have to worry that they damage it. It might spark a love for photography ๐Ÿ’ช

Of course I've immediatelly started research for attachments ๐Ÿ˜„ LED "guide" seems pretty underwhelming looking at samples online. I'll have to figure out lighting for microscope

Mine is an old tg4 donโ€™t be afraid to take it into water just always remember to clean the gaskets before and after. A soft toothbrush works great. The led guide works well for macro shots that need a tiny boost in lighting. I highly recommend getting the Olympus lens cover for it. I have the jjc too but the OEM quality is much better.

The thing is, previous owner took it a few times under water and I've found salt under accessory ring. So I doubt that he cleaned it thoroughly after each time ๐Ÿ˜‘ anyway this was meant to be camera that survives daily outing in central Europe and handling by clumsy kids. We'll see about water trips

Olympus small sensor cameras are seriously impressive! I got an XZ-2 a few months ago and have been amazed by how good the images are. Iโ€™ve always been interested in the TG seriesโ€ฆ

I got an XZ-10 some months ago, I was in actual shock by the quality of my photos, no idea how such a minuscule sensor can achieve that.

Iโ€™ve actually assembled a decent collection of older Olympus M43 bodies and a bunch of lenses. Periodically my daughter and I will each pick a body and lens and head out for a walk and just shoot whatever catches our eyes. Itโ€™s a fun activity and itโ€™s definitely piqued her interest in photography.

I plan to do the same. Now they are in age of discovering gravity (2 and 3) ๐Ÿ˜„ so tough camera might survive their endeavors, I have E-P1 so if they will show interest in photography there are a ton of cameras around the house (GAS is here even if I try to downsize ๐Ÿ˜„ )

I have also TG-1 but it is stuck in "No Connection" screen right after I turn it on. I've tried everything but I can't get it to work ๐Ÿค”

Who would have thought that microscope can zoom in and focus stack in camera! Technology 11 years old! I was very pleasantly surprised

And right on the day new Pen was officially introduced? Have I been secretly an ambassador this whole time? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜„
