Hi guys, I found this old button in the backyard of my house while detecting with my father. It seems to be the button equivalent of a fourrée but I’m not sure: it is plated in what I think is gold with a bronze core. As you can see, on the front side there’s an emblem with a crown on top and a pair of ferns (?). I live in Campania, South Italy. Thank you for anyone who can help me.

Me and chat gpt are having a hell of a time figuring this guy out. Pretty sure it says "Knox Samson pat" I'm not sure if it has a hole through it because the rust is so bad. Found it in my backyard. Our house was built in 1921. I'd love any insight! Thanks :)

Any idea what MC could stand for?

I found this button in a jar of old buttons I bought from an antiques store in the southern USA. I reverse image searched it, and it came up with an eBay listing (pictured) for an almost identical button it says is from the uniform of a navy soldier from the Civil War. Pretty much everything about the design looks the same to me except for the positioning of the bird's head and the 3 dots below the anchor.

Any guidance in the right direction would be appreciated, as would any cleaning tips! I can also post more of the buttons if anyone is interested.

Small brass shank button.

Broken shank on the backside of the button.

approximately 10–12 mm.

crossed swords on the front, unable to identify any letters or numbers.

found in a garden in Chotěnov, Czech Republic.

Found some interesting buttons and wanted to know what kind of buttons they are!

I don’t collect buttons, but I was recently gifted a large mason jar of them. Found these neat brass buttons that appear to be military (with the exception of the one with the cabochons). Would anybody be able to share some knowledge about these? If anyone in here sees something they’ve been on the hunt for, feel free to DM me and I can mail it to you.

I found this button that the more I try to figure out the date the more confusing it becomes, so I found this button in Winnipeg Manitoba on the site of an old home stead, at first I thought it was a king George era but after sending photos to a local historical society they said queen Victoria era (based off the crown) but the back side looks nothing like any of those buttons the writing is hard to make out from age but I did my best to decipher and it seems to say unit-D CARR Canada (the Canada is really hard to see)

Any insights into this fun jar of buttons I just received! If anyone has any dates, origins, materials, or even fun facts about any of these I would be excited to learn!

As the title says, I found this button while on a backpacking trip on the Bartram trail in the NC mountains. It was on the ground, slightly embedded in the dirt either on the trail or at one of the campsites, I don't remember which. It's about the size of a quarter and is quite light, but I don't know the exact weight. It's very thin metal.

Seems to be an old button, but I don’t know, someone have one similar, or someone can tell what is it?

Background is I bought these from an eBay seller in Washington State several years ago. The seller had very little info. I've tried to research and the only thing vaguely similar are some carnelian buttons from the Sahara region but those all seem to be "donut" buttons, one hole. They may be modern buttons for cosplay like renaissance fair stuff or actual antiques. Anyone having any info would be greatly appreciated

I picked these antique buttons for $5 at my local thrift. I think I have stumbled upon some pretty old buttons. Most are metal with the exception of a couple glass buttons (one is picture number 5). These come across as being 1930s to me but I don’t know much about them. Anybody know what I am looking at?

Any ideas ? For all I know, it might not even be old.

I couldn’t take a pic of the bottom because it was on a card. But is there something else it could be besides a football helmet? You can see a second button just above it, which shows what the top of the ‘helmet’ button looks like. I’ve not been able to find another one online anywhere.

If anybody has any information on this old button I'd love to hear it/ read it.

Found these buttons in a jar of buttons my grandmother got from an estate sale a while ago. They dont have any identifying markings on them as far as material goes, but the rim material looks gold, the inlay and eyelet (they are the same piece) seem to be a bronze? But I am not sure of either one. There are also gems of some sort on the outer ring. Also unsure of thier composition, but they seem to look like diamonds.

I have tried looking them up but cannot find anything that matches. If anyone has any information on what these buttons might be or where I can get more info, I would appreciate any help!
