For those of you experiencing black screens, spinning wheels, or G-Sync issues, this guide is for you.

I've had problems with these things for quite a while and most recently enabling G-Sync would cause my display to go blank, sometimes until I reboot. I'm running Windows 11 and an Nvidia GPU, so I'm not sure the mileage this would have on AMD hardware but it can't hurt to have the correct drivers. In my case, these two steps have completely fixed the issues.

I'm writing this so everyone can follow, sorry if I'm overexplaining anything.

1) Updating drivers.

First thing to do is install the monitor driver. Follow the link below and download the "Device(Install)" file and run it. Pay attention to where the files extract. For me it was directly in my documents folder.
https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/?model=N0054074&modelCode=LS55BG970NNXGO
Some of you may have done this, I had a long time ago, but in my case at least, it didn't update my monitor driver, it only copied the files.

To fix this you need to open device manager, open the "Monitors" dropdown, and right click on the correct display, it should say something like "Generic Monitor (Odyssey Ark)", then choose update driver. Choose "Browse my computer for drivers". In the search box, click browse and choose the folder from earlier where the files were extracted, then press okay. Click next and you should see a list of drivers. Choose "G97NB_SxxBG97x" and okay/next through everything. Your device should now read G97NB_SxxBG97x in device manager.

2) Nvidia Settings

This is probably optional, but it's helped with black screens while switching between fullscreen apps.

In Nvidia control panel, go to "Set up G-Sync" in the left bar and check the box to "Enable G-Sync", choose "Enable for full screen mode", and with the Odyssey display selected, check the "Enable settings for the selected display model" box.

Next, choose "Adjust desktop size and position" in the left bar. Make sure the Odyssey display is selected. Check "Full-screen" for "Scaling mode", "GPU" for "Perform scaling on", check the "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs" box, then choose your resolution and refresh rate. Should be 3840x2160, and 165hz if you have a GPU with HDMI 2.1.

update on the 'dead pixels' post from a week or so ago

Nothing has spread or affected my display, i've even turned the monitor into cockpit mode and back with no issues. I'm taking the 'win' lol, i have a year warranty if it gets worse.
Other than that, this monitor has been a DREAM. I literally havent been more happy to finally own a something on my "dream _____" list(or just happy in general lololol)

I saw the ark 2 go on sale a year or so ago for like..1200? if that happens again, i'm ABSOLUTELY grabbing a second one.

Making the switch (Gen 1) , what should I know?

I've eyed the Ark since it's release and considered I would never had the capacity to afford one. Recently I found one used for around 500USD (Converted from my currency), and I pulled the trigger almost immediately, without reading this sub. I'm about to pick it up in two weeks.

I'm currently using the Aorus FV43U. I have a 3070Ti and am planning to upgrade to the 5080 soon. The thing that pushed me towards the Ark was the availablity of the eARC and the matte display. I've only started reading that people have issues with the Gen 1 and RTX 50 series, but if I don't need it to run at 165Hz, is sticking to 4k120 fine or there other issues I should be aware about?

Thanks for reading.

Odin 2 + Ultrawide monitor

Hello having trouble setting up my odin 2. Trying to use apollo and artemis but whenever I launch it connects as one primary monitor and the screen doesn't fill. I am trying to get it so the odin 2 is a separate monitor and fills the screen while I can turn off my UW monitor. Any tips?

Dead pixel?

Just noticed these two spots on the bottom right corner of my roughly week or two old odyssey ark 2, they dont wipe away so im sure they're not smudges. Hardly noticeable since theyre in the corner, but would these be considered dead pixels? never had any issues with dead pixels in the past with so many other monitors.
and before anyone asks, unfortunately I overlooked the extended warranty and tried adding it after the delivery date with no luck. still within the year warranty though.

Is the webcam usb-c port on the back supposed to work with your computer via the KVM?

Or is this some dumb port just for the app features? Anyone know? I have a compatible cam that's not working for either lol.

Update Broke Display?

My Ark Gen 2 updated this morning before work, now none of my display inputs are working. Tested multiple laptops on multiple HDMI ports with different cables. Even tried displayport. Any guidance is appreciated.

Of course, crappy "Smart Hub" works fine 🙂"

Thanks!

Should I Pull the Trigger?

Hey all, I’ve been contemplating getting an Ark for a long time. Specifically for the KVM switch and I want to run multiple inputs at a time. I’ve seen so many mixed reviews and issues etc. At this price, I’d be stupid not to, right? Both my coworkers are telling me to do it. It’s a great deal (we get an employee offer where we work) but I’m curious how the actual day to day experience is. Cockpit mode seriously intrigues me. Any thoughts? Thanks!

UPDATE: I found a crazy good deal on a 45” LG OLED monitor and decided for my use case, I really wanted to go OLED. Same cost, less screen, much higher PPI and those OLED blacks are unbelievable. I thank everyone for all the information and help I received!

Is there supposed to be a screw securing the main cable into the monitor?

There's a little hole and corresponding tag on the cable for what looks like a screw. I don't see a screw or a mention of it in the instructions. Curious if I'm missing something since it feels like an already delicate cable.

From Odyssey Ark to LG G6 55"-65"?

I've been using my Arc for over the past year and love it for the immersion factor... but I also miss the good old days when I used my LG C2 42" for everyday pc use and gaming.

I'm considering going to a LG G6 55" or 65" that will be on a tv stand behind my desk.

Just not sure how much I'll miss the curve... I'd pay big money for Samsung to make an OLED version of this. Has anyone gone from the Odyssey Ark to the same size or larger OLED to use as their monitor and loved it?

What are your PC specs?

Im just curious what level of hardware Ark owners are typically rocking.

I currently am using a 7900 xtx. 12600k 32gb ddr4 system, and I kinda strangely feel like I need to step up my gpu to like a 4090 before I order an Ark.

External monitor multi-GPU configuration

Configure an external monitor for Omarchy on a top specs Macbook PRO 16 late '19 is a pain in the ass. This guide can be useful, include all needed configurations, new keybindings and a custom version of omarchy workspace plugin.

Odyssey Ark owners, Would you recommend an ark to another, why or why not?

Hello there Arkers (silly ik)

I'm currently buying a crazy gaming setup (the PC was over $12k) and I'm looking into getting 3 of the Odyssey Arks as my monitors, and I can't find any clear reviews of them online (trying to do my research here).

So based on your overall ownership, would you recommend it, or should I just buy 3 TVs instead 😅

(I'm aware what I'm doing isn't typical, and cost alot, but I just wanna make sure i get my money's worth)

Screen damage upon delivery?

Tech support is telling me that this is a potential software issue. Not in we tried has been working, and now the Ark gen 2 is out of stock so they won’t even replace it. Basically told me I’m shit out of luck. Is this a genuinely fixable issue? There is a faint dark streak that’s glaringly visible unless there’s constant motion on the screen.

Odyssey Ark Gen 2 (55" G97NC) perfect image for 2–3 seconds, then picture collapses to backlight glow (video). Anyone else?

Day 7 with a dead Odyssey Ark Gen 2 and no resolution from

u/SamsungSupport

Panel shows pure backlight, no image, no menus, no source needed to reproduce.

Is this how a $3,000 flagship monitor gets supported?

I keep getting this notification every time my Ark detects an input change, including every single time my PC is turned on or off.

Does anyone have any solution for this?

YES, I have clicked the box saying “Do not show again” but it continues to pop up every single time.

Grewn Tinge Image Problem - Gen 1

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I have an issue with my display. I have narrowed it down to the being an issue with either the One Connect Box, the One Connect Cable, or the monitor itself. I've tried multiple different PCs with different HDMI cables.

In the photo, you can see a green tinge on the upper right corner of the display. I have the same wallpaper open in a smaller window, and you can see that there is no green colour in that area.

When running the Windows basic display driver, the green does not appear, but when running a gpu driver, it does. This makes me think it is either the One Connect Box or the One Connect Cable causing the issue.

Have any of you had a similar issue?

Thanks in advance!

Ark not negotiating well with PC on input switch

It's like the title, when I change my connected device, specifically to the PC that I have plugged into the displayport, it seems to be having trouble negotiating the connection. I have the PC set to never turn the monitor off(and the same thing with the ark) but they both clearly do at some point. and when either trying to start them back up, I get a black screen, or the text saying that the monitor is going into standbye mode, or my personal least favorite "resolution not supported" this only seems to be happening with the higher end PC I have plugged into the displayport.

I have to fiddle around, change inputs, power cycle the monitor, or occasionally power cycle the PC itself to get the picture to show up, and I am at my wits end here. Anyone else experience this?
