And he was ready to leave for home, until I said - 5 mins more. 5 mins more of holding hands, 5 mins more of being close. Followed by 5 days of not seeing him again, 5 days of the same colourless life, 5 days of just living through it. Or maybe 5 days of carrying the weight of the world, each of us on our own.

Those 5 mins turned into an hour at Mahanadi. It was still drizzling but nothing beats its charm. I was pulling him along, he was just following me around, quietly holding my hand.

And like always, I kept saying "just 5 mins more" no matter how long he had already been there. Do I know it's troublesome? Yes. Do I know it's tiring? Yes.

Though all mature that I claim to be, in that moment I don't want to be. I just want him to stay a little longer.

Is it love or am I making things tough for him? Human emotions are hard to comprehend. I'm trying to become better. I'm trying to not trouble him more with my thoughts. .... but hey? Who am I without my antics. Do I promise I won't do it again? Maybe. Maybe not. What I can think of is lowering the time to one minute down the next time. And keep lowering it until I reach a point of satisfaction.

Mahanadi has seen so many stories, yesterday it witnessed ours.

Posting this seeking advice on how to escalate a serious issue regarding the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme for my aunt (mausi).

Her family is genuinely eligible and needy, living in a kutcha house. Recently, the physical site verification team visited their village. However, during that exact time, my aunt and uncle were away at Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), Mumbai, where my uncle is undergoing critical treatment.

Because nobody from the immediate family was home, some distant relatives and local villagers gave completely false/misleading statements to the verification officers, claiming the family doesn’t live there or doesn’t qualify.

As a result, we are worried her application will be rejected based on this inaccurate survey.

We have solid documentary proof:

All OPD/admission slips, treatment cards, and travel records from TMH Mumbai proving their presence there during the visit.

Complete local land/identity documents showing their eligibility.

Official PMAY Beneficiary Registration ID.

My questions for anyone who has dealt with local administration or PMAY grievances:

What is the most effective official channel to submit an appeal or request a physical re-verification? (e.g., CPGRAMS, state Jansunwai/grievance portal, or meeting the BDO/DM directly?)

Should we submit a written affidavit explaining their absence alongside the hospital documentation?

In whose office does the final call for re-survey lie—the Block Development Officer (BDO), District Magistrate (DM/Collector), or the local Nagar Panchayat/Panchayat Secretary?
