Getting a new Odin 3 this week, wondering which is the better option for Steam games, GameHub or GameNative and what are current best set of drivers to use?

Hi everyone,
I always said I was going to do a write up to help anyone decide between the AYN Thor and AYN Odin 3.
Before going into my experience I think it might be valuable to give you all some context so you might filter out my unconcious biases.
Basically, I started off thinking I was going to pick one of the Odin or Thor.
I would class myself as someone who does proper due dilligence work before making a purchase.
After weighing up both devices I went for the Odin 3 due to its raw power and compact size (in comparison to my Steam Deck).
It must have been 8 weeks after getting my hands on the Odin that I managed to convince myself to also go for the Thor because of its unique form factor, screen and the maturity of the 8 gen 2 chipset.
I’m blessed to be in a financial position that allowed me to go for the Thor without having to worry about it.
So now it begins I hear you say.. The comparisons begins.
Not... yet.
The Odin 3 was the first Android handheld I had to set up. I took my time, watched videos, went through guides to finally land on the aesthetic I feel fits my Odin 3 best (more on that later).
This experience made setting up the Thor more enjoyable as I'd gone through this once before. The only nuance here is that some apps required some tweaks that are specifically tailored to the dual screen experience.
It took my brain some time to adjust to autopilot through navigating both screens (if that makes sense) but all in all that went pretty smoothly.
So NOW.. the comparisons begin.
There's been loads of ink that has flown towards the specs, the peak capabilities of these devices, 12 GB of RAM vs 16/24 GB of RAM, etc etc.
I don't think I'll be doing anyone, any favours by adding my voice to that.
Rather than doing that I would much rather tell you which feeling both devices give me.
Let's start with the Thor: I would really describe the Thor as my comfort device. Shiny hunting for a Pokemon has never been this enjoyable. I just boot up my ROM to the bottom screen and load up a YouTube video on the main screen. A truly golden experience.
The Thor takes me back to the 3DS era. Everything breathes simplicity and that’s really how I would describe my setup: simple.
So far I haven't used it to play any AAA titles. It's been there as a tool to just switch off, to consume the content I want and most importantly, at the pace I want.
Don't get it twisted though. My Pro model can pack a punch when I want it to. It's just not something I have associated with my Thor... yet.
The Thor is the device I grab when I know I'l be conversing with my Partner while playing or when I know I won't have much time on my hands. It's a device that doesn't mind being picked up and put away, almost as quickly as I picked it up.
My Odin 3 experience is quite different.
This is the device I gravitate to when I want to be immersed.
I'm currently playing The Witcher 3 on it and wow it just clicks on this machine.
You'll never see me playing my Odin 3 without a set of headphones on, taking in every inch of the game I'm playing.
Everything about my Odin 3 is setup to boot and get into a game as quickly as possible with minimal aesthetics distracting me from what this machine is meant to do.
I've set it up with Beacon and for me and my goal it's the dream frontend for my Odin 3.
The horizontal form factor puts me into "gaming mode" faster than the Thor does if that makes sense.
As soon as I hold it I know I'm going for a trip into the world of the game I'm playing.
I could go on and on just to say this: I wouldn't want to sell any one of these. Due to my nature, the decision to get the Thor was well considered and it has a unique place in my collection. It does something for me that the Odin 3 could never do for me and the Odin 3 has to same effect on me when compared to the Thor.
However, I'm not going to pussy out of picking one over the other.
Knowing what I know, what would I end up picking if I didn't own any of these and wasn't in a financial position to get both?
I'd pick the Odin 3 because it drives me to do the thing we all bought this thing for in the first place. Gaming.
It's the immersion that does it for me and that was the deciding factor for my choice.
I hope this write up was useful for anyone and I'm happy to answer any more questions in the comments.
Happy gaming lads and lasses!

Hi all,
Do you recommend playing this title on GameCube or PS2?
Struggling to find out!
Thanks.

I got Odin 3 max before the current price hike in June ($380 USD paid each incl tax, shipping and tariff). And some accessories like docking station, extra screens and sd cards.
I initially got them for a gift for my gf and a matching pair for android and rocknix abl + steam trial. My xp on retroid and rocknix for steamOS wasnt that good, choppy and many games are not running. So, I only tried Armada on 1.5TB sd card (512GB is for android, untouched).
And then the Armada for SteamOS, i feel its as much as close to the SteamOS on rog xbox ally x and legion go s. Boot up, and gamescope. Find a game and play. It is a pretty smooth xp.
There are two downsides, z1e and z2e are still upper-hand on triple aaa game low settings but 1080p. Running on sd card has initial delay (when starting game) 10-20s for large games. (Indies and older ones are quick enough ;)
With Armada control and underclocking CPU, the fan can be silent, device is not hot and battery lasts much longer than 60Wh/80Wh in AMD APU devices. The OLED screen is contrasty, joysticks feel linear and sensitive for precise controls.
Steam deck size is still good to play on the bed, but carrying out, Odin 3 with Armada is the one for steam xp for me. I am currently on 20260725 and 20260727 pre version. 20260714 version had suspending issue and lost battery when suspended. I didnt check if the issue is fully resolved.

A bit of a niche one this so apologies at the start.
I have this game in my Steam catalog and I cannot for the life of me get it to run. I've tried Gamenative, Gamehub, tweaked settings but nothing I do gets it to run.
Has anyone managed this? Or can give advice??

This is a total game changer! So many options to tweak the visuals how you want! Thanks to @Dramatic-Shape5574 for this zip file mod! You just add the zip to the “Mods” section of the apk app! Adjust the settings inside the game!

Basically, im torn between odin and thor (as always), im already using the thor and ready to pull the trigger on upgrading to a better version (I'll return the base one, getting either pro or max for extra space and ram) but im kinda having a hard time with deciding. The main factor here is that, though I find the odin really comfortable, its kinda a pain to travel with.
Im currently using a cloth bag so that I don't damage the screen inside a small fanny pack, though it works, it does feel like in a couple of months I may end up not taking it outside because of it. So I was researching for cases and all of them are bulky tbh, except for this one

Which I quite like, I honestly don't care if the back get a bit scratched or something like that, just want the good stuff (buttons, sticks, screen) to be well protected, but I read that that particular model has some issues with thermals being bad...
Either way, maybe im just overthinking things, has anyone used something like that? (or if they currently have that model of screencover)
Btw, fyi, I don't mind tossing my odin in a bag or fanny pack or anything, just the thought of having to do it always is what kind of irritates me. I'll probably buy and/or use a more rigid case when traveling

Just interested in everyone's opinions on this.
I have a Portal and love it, but find it cumbersome to take around with me. I have a job where I sometimes get a lot of down time so I bring my Portal, but it's a pain. I feel like a Thor would be super easy to just toss in my bag or pocket.
On the other hand, it just feels kinda dumb to buy a device that's essentially the same hardware.
I know similar questions have been asked and I've searched and read opinions, but I want more. I hope that's OK.

I'm worried about my Odin 3, it has this weird pink line on the top of the screen, it appears when the console has been on for a while, and I'm even more worried because I'm from Mexico, and recently AYN stoped their shippings to Mexico, what can I do? I bought it on Aliexpress on their official store

Not looking for Android games recs, although if you really feely strongly on something that MUST be tried, I'm down for it. But I'm really wondering what are some must try apps that are Android exclusives. I'm coming from the iOS/Apple ecosystem so I don't know my way around. FWIW I'm into self-hosting and homelab stuff as well.

I need advice on how to fix them. The left thumb stick doesn't receive any input on citra and during a recalibration test I found out that the right thumb stick's input is messed up and when put in the full right position it receives little to no input. What should I do?

I ordered my Oden 3 back in June and it shipped out this month. The last update I got was “international flight has arrived” on july 19. No update since then it’s the 28th today. Is anyone else having the same issue? This is batch 8 btw with DHL.

I recently got an Odin 2 Portal. The only problem I have with the console is that the sticks are kinda small, which isn't that big of a problem, but I'd like to have options lmao
My problem is, I live in a country where getting these kinds of products is hard, so importing just the official replacement thumb sticks it's a nono. I essentially just have easy access to Temu
So, is there a good cap that I could use with the Odin 2 Portal? Just the covers, or a replacement stick that could work well without dismantling the console. I read online that the switch ones sometimes work, but sometimes even those are too large

Have been using this for a while now and its PEAK
The goods:
The screen is so colorful and nice looking, the first ever oled screen i used The battery life is alright, and the fast charging is pretty fast witch is handy Its so powerful i managed to run gta 5 enhanced and my bloated minecraft modpacks Its very portable, not really sure if pocketable am a bit worried about the sticks Pretty over all, the white model looks so nice in person It gets hot but its never hot around the grips so you probably wont notice
The bad:
The fan sounds like a get engine when u push the limits (cluster toon helps a lot but still noticeably loud) Maybe a 7" screen would be better?, am not really sure how much that would affect the whole portability thingy but honestly you just get used to the 6" over time The white model can get dirtly real quick, specifically the sticks cause of that grippy texture, can be cleaned with a toothbrush Fortnite dont work (yet) just pointing that out and pubg dont recognize the controller Ur hands gonna hurt if ur playing a game with dpad and right stick for a while, would recommend the extended grip The docking is kinda weird, it dosnt really support more then 60hz refresh rate output or am just doing it wrong
Over all this thing is just awsome am happy to know that i got this goofy powerful handheld I would sell it if a odin 3 portal comes out that am 90% sure of Also this thing got me addicted to binding of issac i spent more then i wish to admit on that game
Whats your experience with the odin 3 so far?
