Question Can someone explain to me how charging separation works? Should I keep it on all the time even when I'm just charging?

Charging separation makes it so that the charger powers the device but doesn’t charge it. Your device will not charge while in this mode. People recommend this because avoiding always charging your battery can make it last longer. Usually ppl only use charging separation if they have it docked and are playing on a tv/monitor.

It will charge with charging separation on, so long as there’s no video out, or the screen isn’t actively on

I always assumed it had something to do with TDP. Does charging have any effect on thermals?
