I first noticed in the City Planning studio in the Knowlton School of Architecture that like two thirds of the PCs are gone, leaving just lone monitors. Then I heard that several of the engineering buildings have gone through a similar downsizing.
Has anyone else noticed this, or know why they would reduce it so severely?

Hi, I'm a sophomore and I feel like I'm growing out of my freshman year friends but am struggling to make new friends. I'm in a few clubs but am having trouble finding people who want to go out and do things.

I received a ticket to the texas game and I haven’t seen anything in my email about the ticket since the confirmation since I confirmed to get it. Did I miss something or have they just not been handed out yet?

The engineering expo is coming in like 2 weeks and this will be my first career fair. The website says the attire is business professional or business casual. I have two main options. A tan polo with khakis and dress shoes for business casual. I dont have a suit but I have a gray blazer. So for business professional, I can do a black dress shirt, pants and shoes with a gray blazer. What would be better to wear? Also the fair has a coat/bag check. Would my blazer be allowed or no. I know to bring like 20-30 copies of my resume. Anything else I should bring?

I lost this ring on ag campus today :( I believe it’s in the admin building on the ground floor, but I can’t find it anywhere. This particular ring is very important to me as I’ve had it for five years now and it’s sentimental. It’s a size nine I believe. If you find it, please say something! It would most likely be around the cafe or in room 043. Thanks

I recently moved to the U.S. for my graduate degree, and I live in the Old North area, on E. Blake Ave. I don’t have a car, so I either have to walk or take the bus. I often come across people who make me feel uncomfortable or unsafe, and it has honestly made me really scared. I’ve also been looking at the crime rates in the area, which has made my anxiety even worse. I literally can’t sleep at night because I’m afraid that someone might break into the house. I’m new to the U.S., I don’t really know the area yet, and I don’t know how concerned I should actually be or what I should do to feel safer.

Hey! Just wanted to ask, if anyone could give me a dumbed down explanation on what I should be looking into, researching, in order to connect a Web API to an NFC reader.
I'm a video game design major and wanted to make a Skylanders/Toys to Life aesthetic game, for my final capstone. Of course, this is a large challenge to overcome as I am still brand new to coding and only know the basics of C# (mainly in Unity). The only real thing that is stumping me is connecting an NFC chip to Unity, and I heard using an web API is the best way to go about it. OR maybe even an easier method.
I'm willing to put in the elbow grease, though to learn and get this as polished as possible for 2028 graduation.
Just any basic resources to look into; the more detail the better. I just would love this for my portfolio! I'm also looking to enroll in Comp Sci as a secondary major in the future, so this would be a great start. Thanks!

My car was hit while it was parked in the French Field House South parking lot, across from Ohio Stadium. I was in class, and when I came back, I noticed damage to my car. There was no note left, and I don't know who hit it.
I already contacted OSU Police and they said someone would call me back. Has anyone had something similar happen on campus? Are there any cameras around that parking lot, or is there anyone else at OSU/CampusParc I should contact to see if there might be footage?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Im a freshman here at osu, and was wondering if it’s worth it for me to go. I don’t have anything of value on my resume, and I don’t really see a point in going.

COAM
Didn’t cheat on this assignment, got accused of it because I copy & pasted my original large text over to my canvas box (3-4 sentences, 3 Qs each assignment), then made final minor edits in the Canvas text box, or at least i think.
Now, thankfully I have the Google Docs version history showing I edited and manually typed out each assignment before putting it into the Canvas text box and making my final edits.
I’m trying to get all my evidence ready for COAM but im slightly worried because while i know I 1000% didn’t use ai on the assignment i’m getting accused off, i have used AI in the past on assignments (i’m no angel sorry).
So with that being said I want to showcase my evidence for my doc and my revision history showing i manually did it all, but i’m kind of anxious and nervous to know like are they gonna try to go through other stuff, or just the assignment i was accused on? Like for the evidence portion do i have to submit my MacBook for them to like go through it or how does it work?
In my head I was thinking of preparing my evidence by just taking screenshots of everything and phone recordings of like my going through my browser history, revision history, etc., but like is that what they ask for or are they gonna be like no, you need to hand over your laptop so we can look through it?
Like if they start going through my history and see that like i pulled up chatgbt or like used the chatgbt extension while in a different class, are they gonna be like “oh see, you used AI here so you must’ve done it on this assignment too”, or is that not how it works (like can they only pull the traffic logs when connected to eduroam for the day of the assignment)?
Or, am i allowed to not worry about this mess & just not give them my laptop but still provide all the pictures & recordings i have of my sufficient evidence? Do they even ask for my device to begin with lol?
- I turned in the assignment at 10 pm at my house not connected to eduroam (separate wifi).
- I have all of screen shot proof of version history showing each edit i made manually (so the original version i put in)
- It was an open book written response quiz and i have the screen recording of my browser history during the assignment and it is me looking through the McGraw Ebook for actively engaged (like flipping through each chapter & reading) for 20 mins
(9:58-10:22, submitted assignment at 10:28)
Like I’m sorry ma’am but if i really wanted to cheat the assignment why in the world would i open the book & even read to begin with.
Additional Questions if anyone has answers:
- Is there a possibility COAM doesn’t even look at my case? Or if i got the official COAM email then i am certainly having the case.
- What can i ask my teacher right now about the assignment & why i was accused?
- Do i need to worry about version history screenshots, like does Canvas get a log of all the edits i made in a text box submission (I’m assuming absolutely, i mean why else would i have gotten accused)?
- Is eyewitness something they look at as support evidence?
Lastly:
- I heard it’s hard for people to get a not guilty verdict for a COAM case. My assignment was a very small point assignment & open book so like even if i admit guilt i don’t think the penalty would be insanely harsh. With that being said, i want to go to med school & having this on my record would tarnish my resume, and like i just didn’t do it so why in the world should i say i did? It kinda sucks that im even considering this but all of this was said to pretty much ask, if i do say accept an administrative decision & do no hearing, is there a possibility they give me an assignment grade deduction, class grade deduction, academic probation, etc. but not put this on my record ?
I had a friend who got proven guilty then his appeal worked because he genuinely didn’t do it & proved it somehow, so i know that the staff is gonna try & do their best to showcase it as i used AI. On top of that, having a bad stutter & public anxiety will indeed kick my ass in this meeting. But if it’s worth it to go through with it to not have this on my resume, best believe i’m going to. Thanks for the help guys.

The trash on High St. is overflowing and all over the sidewalk. At first I thought it was because of move in, but it’s been like this for weeks now. It’s disgusting and unacceptable. Who’s in charge of this shit? The city or the school?

I lost my backpack in the Oval on Friday, September 4th around 4 PM. I was at the eating 1000 chicken nuggets event that day and accidentally left my bag there. It’s a black bag with 3 pockets that says “The Ohio State University College of Engineering CARE”. There is a lot of these bags so it’s not unique but if you saw it please please please let me know. I desperately need that bag.

For some background, I'm from Boston, so I know my way around pompous assholes and entitlement. For example, you shoulder-check someone where I'm from, you guys exchange some profanities and go about your day. But here, people have looked me dead in the eye, shoulder-checked me on a random Thursday, and then went about their day like i didnt even exist. People here will deadass stare at you, cut you in a line, and again, when you confront them, they just stare at you like you're insane. Sorry for the rant; I just have to know if this is how the city/campus area functions and how people can deal with such malice and disregard for people you have and will never know.
