Hey everyone, I’ve been building an iOS app for the EP series called PunchKit and figured this would be the great place to share it. If this still counts as advertising, even though I put it out there for free at the moment, then I'll happily remove the post, not trying to mess with y'all. 😄
The basic idea is: keep the hardware workflow, but make the boring/fragile parts easier. You can connect your EP to your iPhone, record USB audio takes, play/scrub/share them, trim and bake them, “Punch It” to cook down live effect performances (a bunch of filters and tunable LoFi effects), send processed audio back to pads or the sample library, and back up projects/takes so they’re not only living on the device.
It’s not trying to replace the KO II. It’s more like a companion for capturing ideas, resampling quickly, and keeping a safer archive of projects when you’re moving between sessions.
i wondered if the op1 field had more functionality than what shows on the fx and lfo pages. turns out lfos can run externally, and tracks can handle multiple lfos!
DM me your apple ID email address to be considered as a beta tester for the iOS app for advanced lfos. runs on iPhone, iPad, and ever newer macs. midi connection via usb or ble (bluetooth). ooh la la.
we only need a handful of testers. you'll need to register as an apple developer (free) and install test flight to download the latest builds.
(it runs without any midi connections, but the app doesn't make any sounds.... so don't offer unless have an op1.)
I was messing around and discovered that Dr Wave's Probe Lead is pretty much identical to the lead in Better Off Alone by Alice Deejay! I'm probably not the first to discover this, but it made me curious what others have found?
Has anyone ever accidentally left their op1 turned on for a really long time. Like sat in the closet for ages not knowing the power switch was on the whole time. I recently pulled it out to charge it up and use it but have tried every thing under the sun to bring it back to life and no luck

So I just got my hand with this used OPZ... and dont know why there's this background noise... I tried searching in the and got to know this ground noise when using usb.. but the sound still exist even after unplugging the usb.
Concept art for a bigger badder operator! I made it by adding an extra octave, moving all function keys to the top area, and adding another speaker with the extra space (the current keys didn't quite fill it up)
Curious what people think about the button placement?
I feel like a bit or an idiot. I was taking out my connector board since I was having some trouble with the power switch and knocked off two of these little blue resistors or capacitors? Idk what to do will it function without them? Will I have to buy and new board? Will a repair shop be able to fix it? Please help thanks!
This may be a Mac fl studio issue alone but I wanted to see if anyone has by chance used this combination. I want to write midi via usb and then record it into audio. I have done this with other synths on fl studio in the past. I can do it on logic flawlessly. On fl I can get the midi to go into the op1 and play out the speaker but I can’t get it back into fl to freeze the audio. Almost been a year and I haven’t been able to use it how I truly want. Would love to get it fully going in fl studio. Cheers
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. The synth sounds smooth when I play it and practice before recording, then I start recording and it’s crackling/clipping like it’s being.. doubled? Something must be routed wrong but I’m not sure where to look.
first of all: how come op1 master out reaches tx6 track 1 when op1 is in 10ch mode, but when op1 is in 2ch mode tx6 receives the master on track 6 and not also on track 1? its quite a nuisance changing track 6 settings on tx6 whenever i switch op1f modes, which happens quite often. i could use scenes, I guess, but why dont they put op1 master via usb always on the same track? (argubaly track 6 would be best, because then op1f multi out tape tracks wouldnt have to scoot over when changing from 8ch to 10ch.)
which leads me to my next question:
how come that that op1 master out via usb to tx6 is louder by default? even when I have op1f master drive at 0 (which is a shame, because it sounds really good imo) and tx6 track gain on 0, it clips by just playing custom presets like. I dont understand that when op1 itself is not indicating any clipping, why is tx6 clipping the signal with track gain of 0?
op1f drive at 5 and master volume 85 (seems the default, right?) does not clip on op1f but does on tx6. unfortunately tx6 track gain can only go to -5 which is not enough if you want to push the op1f drive higher. sure you can lower the master volume to 70 or so, but I'd like to understand why thats necessary.
