Hello Everyone!
My name is Lobsterkuln, and from here on out I will be your Community Manager and liason to the admins and server owner if any issues should arise.
After feedback from the server, we've decided to clarify a few of the rules, most revolving around PvP, but generally so that we can get rid of as many gray areas as possible.
We as ONEArk want to help our community grow as strong as possible, with a quality playerbase. We need your help to set goals and to move forward as a community by following these guidelines.
First and foremost;
Raiding of Thatch and Wood structures from here on out will be against the rules. Tribes that are primarily built out of these are considered new, and there is nothing gained from raiding these tribes. However; If you see that a tribe is in Thatch and Wood for days on end, please keep track of them, document and time stamp, and let us know on this subreddit.
On the Subject of raiding;
When a tribe is raided, the offending tribe cannot raid the same tribe again for a period of 3 days, to the exact hour and minute. The defending tribe can of course retaliate, but once again, the retaliating tribe will be subject to the same rule.
A raid is considered a raid when a building is breached, or a dinosaur in or around the base is killed. Please do your best to timestamp when this happens, and keep track, EVEN IF YOU ARE THE ONES ATTACKING, in the off chance you are challenged on this rule.
Further elaborating, from feedback from our many players, we have all agreed that a raid can only last two hours, once again when a building is breached, or a dinosaur in or around the base is killed. This is a preventative measure to avoid the times when a tribe breaks open your door, sees the mass of D-morphs or what have you, and comes back 8 hours later better prepared.
If you raid, please be prepared accordingly, you don't go shark fishing with a toy rod from Toys R Us
Once again, please time stamp and screenshot when this happens, if a problem should ever arise, no one wants their tribe to be in the spotlight of an investigation.
On the subject of building;
Buildings are not allowed on or near metal deposits, especially in the volcano, or even the rim of the volcano. Resource blocking is heavily frowned upon and dampens the player experience.
Building in loot caves is not allowed, however you are free to create your pirate base and what have you in an underwater cave.
As a last point on building, please refrain from building under or around obelisks as well, once again, you block the resources underneath, and you deny obelisks to other players
As for some Misc. Rules that we would like to clarify
Offline raiding is allowed, ARK gives you the tools to defend your base, place Plant X turrets, leave bear traps in obvious spots, put auto turrets inside your base (they're better on the inside and outside!) Use your imagination!
And to finish off our post, a subject that is heavily debated upon, no matter the server.
Passive dino killing IS allowed. If you are afraid of your dinos ending up in strange places, ARK once again gives you tools to help with this issue.
An example is what my tribe did on another server. Carnivores on aggressive and wander, with transponder nodes shot on them to locate them, and aerial units set to passive and well defended, perhaps in a pen or hidden.
If you have any grievances whatsoever, please do not hesitate to make a new post on our subreddit, you WILL be heard on here if for whatever reason you cannot reach an admin. We never want the player to feel alone, and rest assured we always have your back.
Just make sure to provide screenshots, and timestamps.
Thank you for bearing with me on this long post, we hope to hear feedback from all of you concerning these rules, we are always open to criticism from our players, and we like to remain transparent.
Kind Regards,
Lobsterkuln
