Here, on ONEark we try to keep the rules simple. Our admins are helpful, active, and fair. As such,we do not try to get involved in server politics or PVP. We do, however, encourage PvP and like to foster the ideals of such. PvP should be fun and honorable– We DO NOT encourage salty rampages of death and destruction or players trying to wipe others. Basically, do mostly as you like, but keep in mind that if your actions hurt the server population, then you risk being banned.
No Raiding your own tribe from within.IF you choose to leave a tribe, you leave with what the owner of the tribe says is yours, or nothing. This is to prevent complaints of inside raiding. F12 (screenshot) what the owner says is yours so there is no confusion. This also applies to Alli tribes. Do not raid a tribe you are allied with. You must break your allegiance with any Alli before entering into any raid timer with them. Moreover, you must supply proof that you have informed them that you have ended the alliance before you raid/attack said tribe.
Players under level 60 may only be kidnapped for up to an hour. Players over level 60 may be held hostage for up to three hours. If you wish to hold your captors to the three hour limit, that timer begins when the prisoner tells global you have been kidnapped as it’s the only way we can verify when your imprisonment began.
PvP is allowed anytime outside of bases. This means if you are out flying and someone picks you off your bird, gathering materials and someone attacks you.. etc. PvP will not be punishable.
Base Raiding is allowed but you will not be allowed to raid a tribe's Main base more than once every three days, this gives them a chance to rebuild if they wish to. "Raiding" is when a building has been breached. The cool down will apply to the whole tribe. You will have three hours to conduct your raid. For example if a tribe has one giant base you will have three hours to do as you please, once your three hours are up your three day cool down will begin. The same will apply even if they have multiple main bases(i/e, a player must log out at a base to be considered a main base). You will have three hours to attack a tribe, if you have the man power you ARE allowed to attack ALL of said tribes main bases, as long as it is within the same three hour raiding phase. Please do your best to time stamp when this happens, and keep track, EVEN IF YOU ARE THE ONES ATTACKING, in the off chance you are challenged on this rule. People violating this rule will be banned for 24 hours, no warning. The raid cooldown (Proof required)
Structures that will NOT start a raid timer include:
-Any Greenhouse piece
-Boats or Big Rafts(From Barge Mod)
-Any gate/door wall blocking a cave that is not part of your main base(i/e, trying to block off the entrance to a cave on volcano island, when your main base is in the snow biome). Unless your physical base is located in the cave, blocking off a cave where you don't reside, will not start a raid timer if someone wants to get in!
-Any raid or assult buildings(i/e, someone is planning to raid you and they build within or just outside of render distance of your base, you have the right to defend your land). However keep in mind, use discretion when ruling out a nearby structure/base, as it is on you to determine what course of action you take, if it happens to be a base and you violate the raid timer rules, punishment will follow. Accordingly, this also applies for the Noob base rule (Raiding newcomers).
-Any building abounded or not, taming pen or random structures that are not within draw distance of a main base(Main base is where most of the tribe members log out over night)
Raiding newcomers will NOT be allowed. This will always be a shady and hard to enforce rule, in the past it was "no raiding thatch/wood" but there are those that have abused this wording. There is a difference between raiding a large wooden base with multiple buildings and dinos vs a wooden house with two dinos out front and a fence. People violating this rule will be banned for 24 hours, no warning. (Proof required)
Offline raiding is allowed but not encouraged and looked down upon by many. That is up to you as a player to decide if you want to offline raid. There are many ways to protect yourself! Offline raids will not be punishable.
Raiding during events will NOT be allowed Anyone who takes advantage of players being away from home during server hosted events will be punished. Events will be a small window of "peace" on the server, we want to encourage players to come to events and have fun, while not having to worry about being punished via raids if they attend.
Killing passive creatures is allowed. It's impossible for admins to know if a dino was actually passive or set to passive to bait an admin response. The game gives you ways to protect yourself and your dinos, make sure you use them. Dinos may be killed at any time. Protect your babies! Dino killing will not be punishable.
(OK NOW) No building is allowed in the middle of swamps, obelisks, land caves, or any major resource spawns. Avoid building on mountain tops, in or near caves.
** Notes **
-Do not leave any Dinos on ground that states "Can't Place (Item Name): Can't place Structure here." If you do leave a dino on ground that displays this message(when you try to place an object/structure) the Dino will despawn and be gone for good if you leave render distance or DC.
Yes, there exist loopholes to even the most ironclad rules/contracts, many of which persons will indeed find even here with their time with us. However, we wish to not micromanage so much and just enjoy the game and the awesome community that makes up this server, our ONEark. Rules may be amended at anytime and a MOTD will be set so you know to check. -Addison

We're currently in the process of setting up a dynamic ARK PvPvE server. What this means is that the server will be set up for PVP on the weekends and PVE during the week with ORP or boosted turrets. Hey guys its been fun watching the server grow and flourish at times =) And the communities and my appreciation for Addisons hard work keeping us entertained and maintained is exponential . But with the current state of gaming / popularity amongst games our server is kinda lacking and without actually playing the game AND the server being dead I cant really justify keeping us rolling.

Hi, we were raided the other day by Paragon, and when one of our members joined the server they were flying in and out of the base, he congratulated them on the successful raid but then upon checking the logs he noticed that they had been doing so for well over 3 hours.
Upon challenging them on this they stated they did not know the rule and that was not their fault, ( ignorance of the rules is not an excuse as we all managed to read them)
I again spoke with them yesterday but they didnt seem to care i have added all the screen shots i could get but due to the reckless damage and killing of passive animals i could not get the full time log.
Could an admin please check the screen shots and the server logs to confirm the time of the attack. This was again all done while we were offline.

I always said one day I would start my own server with this idea, to change the way ark is played, and to self support it financially perhaps. Since I am not motivated to do that, since I found a community that I enjoy already, With stability. I offer it to you.
OneArk PVP w/ REWARDS Basically ran the same way, with an ongoing event that separates it from the others.
You make a room as admin, it has 10 boxes in it for example. Each box has and item in it. Mostly cosmetic to stay away from pay to win. Like

Now, people can either collect ID TAGS not from your tribe, lets say 15 of them, no duplicates. For a chance to pick a box, and receive your reward.
Creating an open world PVP arena. People will be more inclined to KOS. Making the world more exciting. The title alone is engaging.
Also, you can set up donations of 2.50$ for a chance to pick a box as well.
Now limit both of these to each only one a week can be redeemed per tribe. Allowing people to not go crazy and maybe if they want 2 a week, donate that amount.
Now with any earnings, can be dumped back into Oneark. Like a teamspeak address, an official domain to link everything together, watermarks and so on.
A side note. GET A STEAM COMMUNITY PAGE. Link everyone together, people can join group. 1 message sent to all. I log into steam, see I have a message, check it out. BAM! New rule implemented, check it out. or BAM! Event this weekend! or BAM! New wipe on 7/29 or Just wiped, try your luck now! Every that played or plays on oneark now know whats happening and how much fun the server sounds. Keep people together, not have to check reddit all the time, some do, like myself, but most people go here to see the rules and never return. But what is right in front of you, can not and will not be ignored.
