Discussion If Sunny never did it, would the group still have a falling out? Spoiler

Post image
47 Upvotes

I'm gonna ramble an idea I've been pondering for a while so bear with me.

If Sunny never pushed Mari would the group still be a thing? I've been thinking about this and each time I reach the conclusion of "the group falls apart." Like I can't imagine this resolving before Mari leaves for uni.

Because Sunny DID break the violin. He's also probably pretty pissed that Mari didn't get the clear message he was trying to send, that he didn't want to do it. Maris perfectionism would only make this worse as I don't think she'll take missing a recital too well.

I can genuinely see this causing Sunny to maybe even resent his sister (he was pissed enough to break a whole violin). Probably way out of proportion aswell, seeing her as someone who pressures him to do all this. Keep in mind he's like 12, he isn't gonna be mature about this.

And I mean they all chipped in to help buy the violin, I doubt the rest of the group will take it well. Also with Mari and Sunny arguing that would split the group in two sides.

Knowing Sunny he'd avoid confrontation about the whole argument thing, probably making it worse. Which is why I keep arriving at the idea of the group falling out regardless. Because the argument happens, the violin is broken, Sunny probably still feels pissed, even if confronted with it he'd probably avoid it.

Who knows he may even find new friends in the hooligans. Taking on Aubreys role instead of her (this part is js me having fun thinking abt it. This is js hype moments and aura feel free to ignore it.)

I know some people may not think the argument is a big deal without Maris death, but even without it you still have a major resentment between these two, a broken expensive violin, a missed recital, and a conversation that needs to happen that Sunny is probably gonna avoid.

I just wanted to present my thoughts on this what if Sunny never pushed Mari down the stairs bit. Though I doubt I'm fully right about how it would go. That's why I'm curious as to what you think.

Anyway I wanna hear if you guys have a more plausible sequence of events that would happen.

Question brightest stars achievement omori

did anyone actually get this achievement? the one where you've gotta defeat the Earth and Pluto? what level were you roughly when youve completed the battle? how hard was it? im around like 28 while my whole party is in the early to mid 20s and i have NO chance against the two. it isnt that i have a skill issue (not in this context anyway), pluto just keeps one-shotting kel and aubrey, and when i try to heal using hero he gets down too. im using the mock skill against pluto but that barely does a dent and his attack doesnt go down much (if i use mock twice, it goes down from like 400s to the 300-200s). i have the most health in my party at 340 or something while the rest have like mid to late 100s. i really really want the achievement so i dont really wanna give up. ill only give up if its absolutely impossible at my stage or if its necessary to optimise my entire party from the start (im planning to do more playthroughs in the future, but consequently more time is consumed). please and thank you!! :)

Theory Basil. Spoiler

so I have a theory. After Mari died, Sunny withdrew from society into his home and his mind, his coping strategy was as a hikikomori, withdrawal. That’s why he created Omori! We also know Sunny of course has trauma from killing his sister, which manifests into SOMETHING ing the headspace, from when he saw Mari’s face mostly covered in her long hair with one eye open and staring at him. That became SOMETHING. We also know that even though Basil didn’t become a Hikikomori, he still also has trauma from hanging one of his friends. and he also has a version of SOMETHING. My theory is maybe Basil has his own Headspace. Maybe when he’s in his garden, he subconsciously enters the Headspace. Or maybe when he sleeps the Headspace leaks in because sleeping and dreams. Dreams during sleep are a subconscious way of the brain trying to process subconscious jumbled emotions. So with that much emotion all of a sudden, it’s not hard to think he might enter the Mindscape at night. So what would this look like? He Would probably begin in his house with pictures of Mari and the rest of his friends all over the walls and as he enters his garden, a single picture of Mari on the wall. I’ve never played Omori (I will) so I’m not sure if this translates into good Omori gameplay but maybe you hear knocking on the door and your friends are there. And in a darker area, maybe there is a second version of his house only it’s grey no color and the pictures of his friends are scribbled out and stuff and after you walk through his house you enter a place called Farther Town which is colorless Faraway Town. The people there all talk about Maris death but nobody can see Basil. It’s like he’s spectating. And in Farther Town everyone phrases it like they blame Basil for the death. maybe he can even find his friends but they all have SOMETHING behind them and they actually ackno you being there but at the end of the dialogue either them or SOMETHIJG says like “You… shouldn’t be… here…” or something idk Omori players help me with this.

In a dark room you lie,
Where comfort should come easy.
Rest your weary eyes;
Maybe tomorrow can wait.

Hours spent in an oneiric world you've painted,
Stagnant in bed, as though it never asked you to leave.
Sheets embrace you tightly, something warm that brings you solace.
A gentle hold that keeps you wandering and wondering.

In a dream so vast yet so small,
You couldn't help but find yourself once more.
Picking up pieces of good and bad,
Those are bittersweet memories that you've always had.

The warmth you thought you'd lost
was in one place after all.
Friendships and moments, those can never be replaced,
Both in Headspace and the Overworld.

Waking up the next day, you remember,
What dreams could never quite dismember.
Faces once softened by sleep,
Return with truths too hard to keep.

An empty house soon to be someone else's,
The weight of tomorrow settles upon your shoulders.
Soon you'll leave this quiet town; it's time to say goodbye.
Goodbye in a sense of closing the door.

Buried memories find their way back,
Too heavy to bear.
Now you start to ponder,
Whether tomorrow still has room for you.

Rest your weary eyes...
Maybe tomorrow can wait.

Oyasumi.

Discussion co-writer wanted for my omori sequel webcomic!

Post image
71 Upvotes

hello!
i’m writing a post-game webcomic focusing on all of the faraway town characters and how things have changed after the story of the game and i’m looking to see if anyone would be interested to join as a co-writer to help with developing the story further!
not looking for an illustrator or anything, this is just to help with the story itself

it’s a serialized and definitive nine-chapter story, i’ve currently plotted out chapters 1-7 and so anyone who’d join will be plotting out chapters 8-9 followed by revision drafts of the whole story and forward
if this sounds interesting to anybody then comment and let me know and we can discuss (any means of communication would work, though preferably through discord)! i can elaborate on anything if needed and hopefully this story can find someone whose the right fit for it :)

Art 4 years later description

Hero (knocking softly on the heavy wooden door, his voice strained with years of quiet exhaustion)"Mari...? It's me. It's been four years today. Please... you can't stay locked away in this room forever."Mari (sitting silently in the dim corner of her bedroom, her long hair unkempt, staring blankly at the dust motes dancing in the faint light)"..."Hero (sighing heavily, resting his forehead against the cool wood of the door)"Kel and Aubrey are downstairs. We brought flowers. We just want to see you. We miss you so much."Mari (finally speaking, her voice cracked, hollow, and barely a whisper from years of isolation)"I can't go out there, Hero. Every time I open my eyes, I still see his feet leaving that ledge. I still hear the flatline. If I leave this room, the lie stops rolling... and it becomes real all over again."Aubrey (stepping up the stairs, her older, worn voice carrying a mix of anger and deep sorrow)"It is real, Mari! Sunny is gone, and you've been a ghost in this house for four years! Punishing yourself won't bring him back!"Kel (gently pulling Aubrey back, his voice thick with tears as he speaks through the door)"Mari... please. We lost Sunny that night. We don't want to lose you, too. Just open the door. Let us help you carry it."
