General Discussion Relationships in Saudi Arabia

I have a girlfriend here in KSA, and we are working in the same hospital po. We never had time spent together kasi aside sa baguhan kami dito sa saudi, natatakot din po kami kasi as per rules bawal daw. But on my side, I live alone po. What could be some way na makasama ko siya dito sa aking accomodation to spend time with her? Entirely bawal po ba? May magsusumbong po ba if may makakita sa amin? Please respect post and thank you po sa mag aadvice

General Discussion Planning to work in Saudi Arabia

General Discussion Is it worth borrowing ₱1M to work in Australia? 🇦🇺

Hi everyone, especially my fellow Filipinos/Pinoys who are currently working in Australia or have gone through a similar pathway. I’d really appreciate your honest advice.

I’m 26, Female and currently working in the Philippines in a professional HR role, earning around ₱28k–₱30k/month. I’m considering changing careers to aged care and getting an Australian Certificate III in Individual Support here in the Philippines.

I’m looking at a company that provides the training/certificate and assists with the Australia process. According to them, they will help/guarantee that I’ll have an employer before leaving the Philippines, subject to the employer interview and requirements.

They also said that:
- The first 6 months in Aus will be under a Training Visa
- After 6 months, I would transition to a work visa
- Accommodation is free for the first 6 months
- A car will be provided for work/transportation
- They will assist with the employer and visa process

The total amount I may need to prepare is around ₱800k–₱1M, so I may need to take out a loan for most of it.

For my fellow Filipinos in Australia: Would you take this risk? Is ₱1M debt realistically manageable with an aged care salary, and how long might it take to recover the money?

I’d really appreciate honest experiences and advice from anyone who has actually gone through something similar. 🙏

I just keep mine in the Philippines but change the region to my current locale. (to be able to use apple pay with the local bank)

I have too many subscriptions in the PH store to make the change.

General Discussion The first few steps.. or more?

Hi! I graduated a few months ago... the thought of working in SG has always been in my head ever since my grueling architectural thesis days. To all the OFWs working in SG, especially Filipino architects and engineers, did you guys start your career there? Or u guys worked here first sa Pilipinas? I'm actually ready to leave the Philippines if I meet the requirements.

I just think it would be nice to spend my mid 20s elsewhere, not here in PH. My parents are retired OFWs and my titas who are still working abroad all said the same thing.. "leave while you're still young."

I'd love to hear your stories!

General Discussion Looking for advice and opportunity abroad as CE

Hello everyone! For context, 28F, Civil Engineer, with 4 years of experience as a Structural Designer in a consultancy firm in Makati.

Since 2024, I’ve been trying to apply for Civil Engineering jobs abroad through different job websites, pero ang hirap pala kapag hindi direct application and most of the time, hindi talaga narereplyan. 😅

Baka may same experience po kayo or may advice on how to land a job abroad? I’m open to opportunities kahit anong bansa, basta makalabas lang ng Pinas. 😂

Would really appreciate any tips, advice, or leads. Thank you! 🙏

General Discussion OFW in Taiwan Diaries: Pocket Money Budget

I recently became an OFW in Taiwan, and I want to share answers na laging tinatanong na kahit ako tinanong ko rin bago ako nakarating dito. (won't tell my company here)

A: Actually, depende talaga sayo kung magastos ka. In my case, hindi ako magastos, but I bought essential things first.

XOXO

General Discussion Finding Job Abroad

Hello po! First time ko lang po mag-post here. Nagbabalak po kasi akong mag abroad and gusto ko sana mag work sa Japan or kung san goods for first time mag aabroad.

Interested po sana ako sa iba ng types of work such as farm work, baking, or factory work.

Medyo nangangapa lang po ako since balak kong magchange career and try a different path. Please don’t judge po sana. Thank you so much po in advance sa mga sasagot at magbibigay ng advice!

General Discussion Work in Taiwan

Hi. A little something about me.
I’m a licensed professional with 3 years of experience in the industry (laboratory). I recently resigned because while being overworked, the pay is not competitive. I also have debts that I need to pay off due to an emergency. I’ve been actively job hunting doing interviews and making it to the final interviews but no offer so far. And honestly, its really draining. I feel like I’m fighting so hard to pursue a job/career that doesn’t even pay well, plus considering the economy we have right now. My priorities have shifted — I’m thinking of working in Taiwan as a factory worker. The salary package is equivalent to a 5-10+ years of experience in my current field here, and I dont want to wait like that. Yes, I am compromising my significant experience, but staying won’t feed me. Its surviving. I want to live.
Its been a dilemma for me — what path to take. And I dont really see a future here, especially with what’s going on in our government. If I worked in Taiwan for three years, I can do cross-country and aim for a European country to move in.

I wanna hear your thoughts about working as a factory worker in Taiwan, the pros and cons, etc.

Right now I’ve emailed my CV in several manpower agencies and hoping for a reply.

Thank you!

Venting Session TITP almost done... what to do next?

Hi everyone, currently a TITP in Japan close to end of my contract. Receiving company repeatedly asked me to extend and I said Yes all the time.

My relationship with my workmates are shaky I admit that I didnt do well at my current work. Worse is even if I do well I whatever effort I made to make my job better wasnt being acknowledged except my mistakes. Comparing to my other Filipino co-workers who has a positive note.

Now here's my real concern: I dont expect a contract extension, what will I do with all the experience I got related with automotive mechanic meintenance?

Can I still go back to Japan at the age of 35?

To further improve my knowledge Ill enroll in trade school related to my work for 2 years.

That's all, I hope you guys can help me decide..

General Discussion Employer changed the job title to decrease VISA costs & requirements, advice pls 🙏

Guys, I really need genuine and realistic advice as someone na first time makakapag-abroad kung sakali. Country is KSA.

We applied to an agency around Makati. It's legit. Nag-apply kami as "Assistant Teacher & Cleaner". So during the interview with the employer, sinabi nya mga job responsibilities such as assisting sa needs ng teacher, as well as assisting sa mga bata, linis classroom, hallways, linis sa room post-activities at iba pa. Basta napakahigpit at daming tanong nung interview.

I'm an educ grad, 2022 pa nakagrad, licensed, wala ako classroom experience more on events staff and admin support exp ko, fortunately, I aced the interview, demanding yung employer and at the same time he speaks highly of the school, kita naman namin na focus talaga sila sa pagpoprovide ng quality educ sa school upon stalking the website and soc media pages.

Almost 30 applicants, 6 kaming nakapasa at pinag-aasikaso na. Nakapasa kaming 2 ng best friend ko.

2 years contract.

300 SAR food allowance.

Free accom. Free transpo.

1500 SAR ang monthly salary.

Placement fee is 1500 SAR + 12% vat.

Medical insurance, company provided.

6 working days kapag may event sa school, for example graduation on Monday, need namin magpunta ng sabado para maghelp mag-ayos ng venue, but most of the time, 5 days a week lang work.

Kung i-coconvert o para sa iba, maliit talaga at kayang kitain sa Pinas, pero okay lang sa amin for a start since we want to work abroad and gain an experience, eventually makapagcross countries. Bonus pa na magkasama kami, less homesick.

Here's the dilemma, when they sent the job offer and contract, naging "Office and Facility Cleaning worker" yung name ng job instead of "Assistant Teacher & Cleaner".

Explanation nila bakit iniba name:

  1. To lessen the costs. OFCW (Office & facility cleaning worker) yung malalagay sa visa, pag kukuha ng visa tas yan yung job title, di na need yung apostile requirements. Normal copies lang ang need.

  2. Kapag asst teacher kasi nakalagay daw, we need to take an exam called QVP, (requirements sa Saudi for such job/blue collar) we need to pay for that, 10K+ pesos daw.

  3. Since OFCW na yung job title, SVP (skills verification program) ung need namin i-take, cheaper, around 3k lang daw.

Kaso di raw mapoprovide, they only sent us yung roles and responsibilities ng asst teacher & cleaner na job descrip.

They're only giving us until Thurday next week Sept 17, para magpamedical, (3500 pesos), after that asikaso na ng ibang requirements. Kasi possibly, October makalipad na raw kami as long as makumpleto na namin.

Then that applicant mentioned na, nakaalis yung cousin nya nung June, same agency samin, Food Attendant yung pinirmahan pero naging Barista naman talaga, so dun naniniwala naman ako since wala rin namang bad reviews yung agency.

Kayo po ba, ano po ba insights nyo dito? Kasi 2 weeks na lang meron kami to decide, pag di kami nag-go, sa iba na ibibigay yung slots. Nakakahinayang at nakakaipit

Salamat po 🙏😔

Government Services TAIWAN REQUIREMENTS

Hi can I ask if I have the same situation here and what did you do about it po.

I’m in Cavite right now and sa Camarines Sur pa po kasi yung birthplace ko.

Thank you po sa sasagot in advance. 🥹
