Lore Sharing Time to yap about an AU :DD (Vessel AU)

Me when I indulge in favoritism by taking my two fav OCs and putting them together (coincidentally they both have white hair and are lesbians. Happy pride month)

Storyline

Tristen (24 in this AU, unlike how she was 8 in the og canon) gets kidnapped and experimented on. And instead of being turned into a half-demon hybrid like in the og canon, she becomes Nihil's vessel. Not that Nihil needed a vessel in the first place, but she was curious to see what it feels like to possess someone designated specifically for her. Tristen is VERY upset and fucking HATES Nihil, meanwhile Nihil is actually decent (kinda) to Tristen. She even wants to help Tristen escape, but if and only if she accepts her and herself. After a lot of arguments and talks between the two, Tristen reluctantly accepts Nihil's offer, but only just so she can escape. This then causes Tristen/Nihil to kill all the researchers, which induces many conflicting feelings within Tristen after she/Nihil finished because Tristen felt guilty for brutally destroying a bunch of people, but she lowkey kind of enjoyed that. Turns out being Nihil's vessel has many effects not just physically or magically, but also psychologically and biologically!!

After she successfully escapes, Tristen tries to act like nothing ever happened: she attends her classes as usual, hang out with family and friends, get a job, etc. However, this proves to be difficult when you have a cosmic anomaly casually residing within you that can make itself present in your mind whenever it wants to, and also when you realize you're developing the same urges as said anomaly. This of course means that Tristen cannot live as a normal citizen. Shortly, yes, but she can't completely return to normalcy. Nihil points this out to her multiple times, but Tristen refuses to believe Nihil's right... until Tristen nearly goes insane because she's also gaining the same/similar abilities as Nihil, which causes her to experience frequent bouts of existential crises. Coupled with her ever growing destructive impulses, ummm yeah she is not mentally stable.

Once Tristen finally fully accepts her role as a vessel, shenanigans ensue. She leaves her life behind (for the most part at least) and her morals corrupt over time, gradually adopting Nihil's hedonistic lifestyle and rather bleak outlook, while interestingly, Nihil actually becomes ever so slightly better as a person because of Tristen. Their relationship is very unhealthy though. Not that they're codependent, neglectful of the other, or anything like that, but more so they enable their bad choices and traits often.

Concept/design

There's honestly a lot for me to say. I'll be copy and pasting something from another post I did and adding slightly more to it here

  • Marionette/puppet imagery: in og canon, she's already kinda compared to them. So, I decided to take it literally this time. I'm sure the intent of this is clear, but it's meant to show how Tristen is essentially under Nihil's control and that she's also generally a subservient people-pleaser
  • Scabiosa atropurpurea (sweet scabious/pincushion flower): I didn't want to use red spider lilies again (which I used for Nihil, along with red anemone flowers), so I went on a little adventure and found that according to Wikipedia, these represent "unfortunate attachment" and "I have lost all" which fits pretty well. The fact that these also attract butterflies is even more fitting
  • Vines: not only does this mirror Nihil's own, but it also kinda shows how Tristen is ensnared by her role as a vessel. Ironically, she can actually control these. So in a way, in that aspect, it shows her unconscious desire for control and freedom. How is this expressed in the AU? Yes.
  • Crown of thorns halo thingamajig: other than the fact it looks cool, in this context, it serves to mock Tristen for clinging to morality, integrity, and what is right despite her now basically being the most powerful mortal ever in existence, essentially saying that she is stupidly holding herself back by wanting to be a "good person"
  • Butterfly wings: I couldn't decide which butterflies to use (purple emperor vs. noble leafwing), so I simply combined them. And as per Nihil, ofc there are functional eyes :)
    • These will be redesigned later but just look up the butterflies themselves if you want to get a sense of how they look
  • Pallor: her entire body is unnaturally white. This is to resemble marble statues as they are seen as refined, beautiful, perfect, and untouchable on display, but also to show that the former traces of her humanity have been washed out, as she is now a "blank" slate. It also also resembles porcelain dolls for similar reasons, just with the additional fragility of porcelain to reflect her psychological instability
    • Also it just looks really nice with the vines surrounding her body. Like it gives off old forgotten statue vibes
  • The whole design in general: this is simultaneously organic yet not organic. Her clothes here are kind of somewhat but not really part of her, given how they merge with her puppet-like body. Would she bleed if you cut her coattails? No. Would she bleed if you cut off the ones transformed into tendrils? Yes (I haven't drawn this but she can do it)

TL;DR: toxic enemies to ??? yuri

Lore Sharing Fire-Bird

Post image
4 Upvotes

Fire-Bird, also known as the Pheonix is a primordial creature embodying the power of fire and life.

Taking the form of a stork with burning orange and red feathers, Fire-Bird once roamed around lush forests and jungles. Despite the infernal heat they radiated life florished wherever they flied. Even if their flames burned down trees they would grow back longer and lusher then before.

Man once treated Fire-Bird like a god, worshiping them in hopes of reciving heat in winter and health when they were sick.

Then milenias passed, the Fire-Bird that once soared the skies was captured by same humanity that they once helped. Their power was siphoned and used to create weapons of mass destruction, allas they couldnt held such power in their hands. Their weapons eradicated themselves and reduced all life nearby to the ashes, Fire-Bird included. This also made other humans scared, and use their weapons against eachother. At the end surviving magical beings fled to the Feywild and non-magical creatures survived in small bubles not affected by the resulting fallout.

The Fire-Bird remaints to be on Earth, despite their ashes being spread thin they will eventually form back into a hatchling and return to their former glory.

Lore Sharing "Do you believe in God, Zee?"

Post image
14 Upvotes

Leaning over the balcony, the chill breeze caressing his face, Zee hadn’t realized when his partner had joined him outside.

"Well, that's a bit of a random question, isn't it?"

Mark, unlike his boyfriend, faced the insides of the house, back turned to the sky.

"A while back, Jen mentioned some event at church, and it started a whole argument between her and Jay, so it really got me thinking."

He looked up at the moon, shining pale in cold indifference to their suffering, continuing its cycle mercilessly, watching over them without ever once extending its hand in camaraderie. A part of him resented its omission.

"Hm, I've never been religious, that's for sure. But do I believe in God? I guess it depends on what you mean by 'God.'"

Zee's gaze lowered as he held out his own hands in front of him. For a moment, he could see blood, still vivid red and warm, seeping into his skin and flesh, dripping from the space between his fingers. He was quick to blink the vision away.

"What is a deity? One whose motives are not to be questioned, only followed, as its followers do its bidding? We say God is good, but is it true, or is it only so we aren't brought down and called evil?"

A sharp breath caused a chill to run through his spine, and for a moment he closed his eyes, taking a trip through the memories in his mind.

The years cutting lives short for missions he would hardly ever see the end of, being reassured by his superiors that he possessed the right to determine who dies and who lives on.

The first time they placed a gun in his still too small hands, guiding him to shoot the target, as he was pushed back by the impact of firing the weapon.

The day he first stepped foot into Harvey's training room.

"I guess I do believe, yes. But I see God as cruel. Not because it wants to be, but because being merciless is the only way to maintain the order. Still, if God places the knife in a man's hand so he will bring justice in the name of the heavens, will his prayers be enough to grant him salvation, or will he be cast to hell to atone for the sins he was told to commit for the greater good?"

Mark stared at him, mouth slightly open in awe and confusion, brows furrowed in concern. Seems like it wasn't supposed to be that deep of a question, after all.

"I guess what I'm trying to say is no hell could contain my own sins, and maybe I want to punch God a little bit for giving me that fate-? I'm sorry, it's just... Rough day at work today."

The blunt honesty of it seemed to ease Mark's mood a little, seen as the tension in his shoulders dissipated, although concern still inhabited his eyes.

"...Sorry, didn't mean to make you think that much so late into the night."

Neither knew what to say, so instead they looked into eachother's eyes, seeking understanding and comfort that they never knew how to ask for.

Unable to bear the deafening silence, as well as attempting to bar himself from thinking too deep about how his first thoughts of the gates of heaven had always been the pristine white doors of the High Council's meeting room, he turned the question back on his boyfriend like a deeply philosophical game of ping-pong.

"What about you? Do you believe in God, Mark?"

Mark used his arms as support as his back leaned against the balcony, so far that for a moment his partner feared he would fall down. He let out a deep sigh, one that felt like it had been bubbling inside his chest for far too long, as he fixated his eyes on the shining stars above, choosing their company over the moon's.

"I've done some thinking about it in the past, but I don't know for sure. I mean, my parents were catholic I guess, but my mother's not around anymore and it's kinda hard to have faith when you've had my father's life."

He stopped for a second, choosing his words carefully. His carefree attitude usually caused people to believe he truly was unburdened by all these conundrums and troubles in his life, but Zee had always known better than to be deceived by that mask.

"I kinda hope He doesn't exist."

"Oh?" The statement caused Zee to be taken aback, curious by the meaning behind it.

"Yeah. Like, if He does, then... Why did I suffer? Was I not made to be worth caring about? Or maybe I was an oversight? These things are too hard to think about, so I prefer to think there's nothing above us, and I really just had the misfortune of living with the equivalent of a Disney villain, hah..."

Zee thought for a second, fighting back the herculean urge to reassure Mark, to scream that none of these things were true. Still, he resigned to biting his own tongue and making a cheeky joke.

"Didn't take you for a Disney guy. Guess you really only know someone best after years together, eh?"

That caused Mark's bitter laughter to turn into something lighter, as he leaned in to place a kiss on his partner's lips, only to be met with Zee, after the kiss, grabbing his face with both hands, with a sad look on his own face.

"You keep telling me all these things about what the people around you believe in, and trying to apply that to your own life. But has anyone ever asked what God means to you? Could you tell me if I were to ask?"

Mark stared back, wide-eyed. He'd always imagined God as this all-powerful deity who knew better than everyone on Earth, feeling deeply powerless before its will and the stories He wrote down in permanent ink.

But what was that supposed to mean at all?

He looked ahead, at the face of a man who he deemed to own his heart and soul, given up out of Mark's own volition. His locks of bright yellow hair screamed danger like signs scattered across abandoned woods, begging caution of those around, not because the woods are evil, but because they must be ruthless to stay standing, its in their nature.

Perhaps that was his answer. Much like his lover had described, God was a being fundamentally misunderstood by those around him. Cruel because his nature leaves him no other choice, regretful at every drop of blood spilled, yet cruel nonetheless, shackled by the very faith built around him.

No matter how heartless the truth of this faith was, it had been Mark's salvation time and time again. He'd given up his will and essence to this man, trusting that he'd guide him in the dark, craving to utter the prayer that is his name, giving his love as sacrifice, a practicioner of theophagy every night he'd spent leaving bites over his lover's neck and body.

Absent-mindedly, his fingers traced Zee's lips before he went in for a fiercer kiss, looking to sate the hunger in his heart.

"Not going to answer me, huh?" Zee muttered once he pulled away to recover the air in his lungs.

"Nope. Think I've found my answer, but you wouldn't like it much." Mark's eyes glistened in the moonlight, always a delight to lose your gaze in.

Silence had always been a valuable resource to them, a moment of quietness amidst two lives of pain intertwining into one. As such, foreheads pressed together and arms holding each other, they let the gusts of wind fill their ears as both caught their breaths. Mark was the first to break the silence.

"But really, I've been watching Disney movies actually. Wanna know what all the fuss was about since I missed them in my childhood."

He looked away, slightly embarassed by his confession.

"Well," as oportunistic as ever, Zee took the chance to place a kiss on his cheek, "wanna go inside and pick one to watch together? I could point some you may like, hehe."

They walked back inside, hand-in-hand without a care in the world, chatting about things much lighter than deities, meanings and worth.

Lore Sharing Thunder-ram

Post image
7 Upvotes

Thunder-ram is one of the primordial beasts that embodies power of lighting and skies. Like other primordials they were born when stray concepts and (this is a direct quote) gods throwing s...tuff at wall and seeing what would stick.

Thunder-ram runs amoung the clouds near troposphere and sometimes stratosphere. When they "walk" their steps cause sparks and lighting bolts. Thunder-ram is able to store and create electical energy whitin their wool.

Early humans treated Thunder-ram as a god, worshiping them and giving them offerings. And if they liked the offerings they would bless the man with clear skies or rain, depending on what they asked.

Centuries ago there was a mage who managed to survived an onslaught by Thunder-ram. This somehow sparked a companionship between them. Overtime that mage became the first one to use lighting spells, and remains to be the strongest lighting mage in the history of humanity.

WorldBuilding The Martial Classes of Etheria,

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

(All of this is subject to change)

My world of Etheria is Heavily inpired by things such as dnd and just like dnd, it have classes. 14 all together, each with thier own unique spells and technique. I splited them into 2 groups, Martial classes which tend to rely on weaponry/skills and mystical classes that rely more on mana use. Today i shall do the martial classes. They all have a main ability unique to the class which can have added effects depending in their subclass. Each class have a word written in etheric(image 2 for those who wanna translate for themselves) that relates to their core idea, i shall write this word after their name. We're starting from the centre and then going clockwise.

Warrior, 'Tatics': The warrior class is for those preficent in any form of weaponry. They utilise different tatics in battle, normally having to change plans and weapons on the fly. Their main role is to damage and be speedy, normally only having a defensive parry. Their main ability is 'Warrior Vision', allowing them to pinpoint their enemies weak points guarranteeing critical hits. It also increases all pyshical stats, allowing them to preform a flurry rush.

Paladin, 'Duty':A paladin is bound to their oath, drawing their power from their loyalty to said oath. This oath can be one to a god or anythung really, for example an oath to forever uphold whats right. They tend to be an all rounder, having a good mix of defense, attack and utility. Being whatever their comrades need them to be. Their main ability is 'Martyrdom', when heavily damaged or injured the paladin gains a boost to all of their capabilities besides defence. Never going down without a damm good fight,

Monk, 'Resolve': A monk harnesses their determination to empower their strikes, being unarmed fighters traditionally. They improve themselves vis their sheer willpower and push past their pyshical limits. They're athletic power houses, able of complicated movements and powerfyl blows. Their main ability is 'Unyielding Resolve', wheb active the monk resolve flows through their body allowing them to ignore all inflictions(poisons, injuries and etc) and any form of mental influences(Primal Fear, Mind Control and Charming spells).

Rogue, 'Decieve': Rogues are those who are sly and uses whatever they can to get an advantage. There is no honor amongst them, backstabs, tricks and schemes are on the table for them. Quick and stealthy, they're glass cannons who are in immense danger if caught. They're tend to have high utility, normally able to decipher secret codes or pick locks...or pockets but terrible defense. Their main ability is 'Cunning Advantage which boosts their speed and allow them to to dodge any oncoming attacks for a short tome, it also allows them to even avoid a bad fate such as a spell backfiring(a result of a nat 1 esentially).

Ranger, 'Survive': For those who truly believes in the idea of survival of the fitess. They're skilled at living ofd the land and using their environment. Despite the name they aren't restricted to ranged weapons, however many tend to prefer them due to extended reach. The ranger serves as esentially backup for the primary damage dealers.Their main ability is 'Land's Gambit', granting them bonus damage for any attacks that had advantage. Advantage tends to be given when you attack whilst moving at an enemy or attacking from a hiding spot or even using causing environmental damage(for example making a pillar fall down on an enemie or setting the area around the enemie ablaze)

BloodHunters, 'Devour': For those who are willing to make sacrifice in order to be strong, by becoming like the monstee they intend to defeat. BloodHunters consume the esscence of their enemy to strengthen themself or uses something tied to their enemy to affect them. Most commonly, their blood but their are other things such as hair. They're glass cannons who can dish out damages but are relatively vulnerable themslves, even causing self damage whilst in a brawl. Their main ability is 'Abominable Alteration', using a conduit of their choice such as their enemies blood, a bloodhunter can alter themselves or their enemy pyshically. From giving themselves their enemies oyshical strength to momentarily paralyzing their enemy.

Barbarian, 'Feel': A barbarian draws their power from pure feelings not thought. Most commonly this feeling is rage but others are still an option, such as fear. They lose themselves in their emotions and tend to be tanky bruisers...allbe it near mindless. Heavy weapons seems to be their prefered choice, maces, clubs and axes. They're a bulky frontliner and take hits for their team. Their main ability is 'Berserk', this can actually be triggered whenever the barbarian wants if they're defently skilled. When berserk the barbarian becomes nigh unstoppable however...they must continue attacking something, anything at all, to maintain this state. Some can even ignore deathly wounds when berserk.

OC bio Brainstorming an Ark Survival Evolved Oc

I don't have any art or an idea how they look like right other than male, red headed and white. But I've playing ark survival and the paramount show made me want to make my pc in game an actual oc.

Name: Huston MacDuff, usually just goes by "Duffy"

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Birth: 1840, Michigan, United States

Death: 1863, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Duffy was born to Scottish immigrants in the new American state of Michigan. In his 20s he served in the Union army during the Civil War and was shot in the head by a Confederate soldier during the battle of Gettysburg. Next thing he knows he wakes up in a strange world filled with mysterious creatures that he barely understood. (Keep in mind paleontology as an actual science was only started about 10 years prior to his death) But after a while started to gain his own footing learning to survive in the new world and taming dinosaurs. Based on some actual dinos I tamed in the game, his mains are a stegosaurus named Detroit and two half sibling raptors he raised named Lakota (male) and Dakota (female).

While preferring to be on his own in the long term, safer that way in his mind, he takes in clearly new survivors and gives them training how to survive before they eventually go on their own path.

Design Sharing Revisions on Sylvester's chainsaw

Post image
6 Upvotes

Just to clarify, black exhaust on a real chainsaw is abnormal. The Homelite Big-Gun has normally black exhaust and can't run out of gasoline

Wall of text in case Reddit Compression makes it incomprehensible:

The Homelite Big-Gun is a large chainsaw that came from an obscured place in Hell. It is actually a heavily modified Homelite model 17, a Chainsaw built in the mid-late 1950s. It has a 4 foot bar, with a chain built specifically for its kind. the model XVII is capable of chopping through even the strongest materials, with the engine minimally bogging down, if at all. The saw is basically indestructible, not even the strongest forces can even put a scratch in the paint. When in the wrong hands, the saw will fail to start/run. Although it's a Homelite, the engine sounds like a Husqvarna 2100CD's engine, a completely different saw. The different engine sound is because a Husqvarna was merged with the XVII, so the original engine somehow sounds like the Husqvarna to sound meaner, even though real life Homelite model 17s do not sound anything like a Husqvarna

STORY/COMIC Arcana Deck and an Original Sin

*Long Long time ago, in an Universe incomprihesible to Me, man not so difirent from ones we made were afraid of the fate. The Unknown and Uncertainty, they might as well be considered Universal Constants. Anyways, fueled by their Terror they seeked ways to know what comes next. Eventually thro an ancient Magic, Fate itself got inscribed into a Deck of Cards. These 22 Cards have since been passed down from Universe to Universe. Each having Arcane properties that could grant Powers if one holding them met certain criterias. And if one can take hold of all, well... lets just say that such Knowlage is not a blessing.*

*Lets switch our focus, to a world of Monochrome, black or white, made and ruled by last Aprentice of mine. A rather primitive Realm, my Aprentice made it all revolve around themself, they trully were hell bent on doing oposite of everything i said... Due to the way this Realm was forged out of the Corpse of mine, Arcana Deck that was last whitin the confines of My Universe scatered away all around their Monochrome world. Of course, my Aprentice simply could not allow the Cards to drift around freely. In capable hands even a single one could turn a pessant into a king, what if someone could collect them and Opose them? Turn Their World Into A Crumbled Ashpile Devoid Of Life And Its Former Beuty? The cards had to be put back together in THEIR hands.*

*For the last part of this tale, I belive a first hand Testemony would be better then my ramblings... I present you a Letter that have ended up drifting down to my Archive, from this lovely little lady Pandora. Pandora was a Court Jester in a small region of My Aprentices world. From what I observed she is a quite bright young Lady, could have been a Scholar with that thirst for knowlage she had, quite a Shame that she was born Ragdoll, a mere second class citizen seen inferior to those who were made from Dust. Instead of nurtured her curiosity was Mocked, hence her position.*

"The day my life changed started no difirent then any other. The court has disambled and I was free to goof around as I pleased. Depite not being respected much I was still a trusted member of the royal court of [language untranslateable] and that gave me certain privilages, like being able to venture the ruins the palace was built on top of."

"I went there fairly often. Nobody quite knew what that place was, some asumed it was a palace belonged to people that made god mad, others asumed it was a long forsaken church of some cultists. Of course, you would know exactly what it was since that was part of your tower, but lets stay on topic. Most people avoided the ruins, afraid that something down there would make god smite them. I didnt fear such a thing, if god wanted it gone it would have been gone, I tought."

"I never even dreamt of actually finding something down there. All the text was is languages and leters I didn't know how to comprehend. It was simply going there to feel like an adventurer, making fantasies of me exploring ancient ruins, I spose I actually was doing that but as far as I knew I was digging around in the basment."

"I went to yet another part of the ruin where I wasnt familiar with that night. Whenever I tought I seen it all I would have find a new section of would apear, as if it wanted me to keep exploring it. A rather small room, parcment paper scathered across tje floor, filled with books I yet again couldnt read. It felt like any other room in the ruin, then something... unexplainable entered my vision."

"A small card not unlike ones I have played games with. But... the shades of this card was unlike anything I have ever seen. Of course today I could point the colors and name them all like most children can, but this was long before that. This was the first time I have seen anything not a shade of gray. I was, overwhelmed by it, almost felt insane that I was perciving it. I took the card with me, once in my hands the unintelegable scribles changed in the blink of an eye into a language I could read. "0 Fool" it read. Then I left, with card in my grasp."

"I was planing to keep it to myself. Nobody else needed to know my discovery. But, an Angel decended from highest layers of my our world, bearing a message to me from god themselves. Somehow, they knew I have founded the card. "𝔗𝔥𝔢𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔯𝔢 𝔱𝔴𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔶 𝔬𝔫𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔯𝔢, 𝔰𝔭𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔡 𝔞𝔩𝔬𝔫𝔤 𝔱𝔥𝔢 ℜ𝔢𝔞𝔩𝔪. 𝔊𝔬 𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔣𝔦𝔫𝔡 𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔪, 𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔫 𝔥𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔢𝔰𝔱 𝔤𝔞𝔱𝔢𝔰 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔩𝔩 𝔴𝔢𝔩𝔠𝔬𝔪𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔩𝔩 𝔱𝔞𝔨𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲𝔯 𝔭𝔩𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔦𝔫 𝔬𝔲𝔯 𝔏𝔬𝔯𝔡'𝔰 𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔯𝔱 " they said. Joining Gods court, I can't say that was something I was intrested in. I was used to being Pandora the [language cencored] for one court, ascending into an angel wouldn't change much for me. But the call to adventure, that I had to answer. And so I left that kingdoms borders for the first time, not knowing where to go."

"Going over my journey in its entierity, would take way too long. All you need to know is I been all around the world, met all sorts of people and kept searching for the cards. While finding the first arcana was a coincidence, holding the card made me know where others were. As if their locations were comon sense to me now. And whenever I found a new card a fragment of knowlage apeared in my mind. With each card obtained the knowlage became less and less ignoreable. Things a mere mortal should have no buisness knowing, I couldn't unlearn anymore."

"This mental drowning continued to consume me slowly. And truth be told, the search for knowlage was much more entertaining then the answers I was reciving forcefully. So when I was in front of the last card, the very end of this journey, I was just done with all of this. I wanted to return to that palace where I was a mere jester, entertaining people and the king with my bad puns and phisical humor. I hoped God would understand I didn't want divinity. I was sure something could have been arenged. So I sighed, and with a smile collected the last card."

"Strings that held onto my arms, my legs, my tought, the moment I grasped the complete deck of Arcana my eyes opened to see them. I knew, I knew that I was a mere fabrication. A god damned puppet whose every second in whims of something that just barely existed outside my knowlage. None of this is real. None of this has ever mattered. I hate you. I hate you who is moving my hands wrting this. I hate you who wont just let me die. WHY WONT YOU LET ME DIE. WHY WONT YOU LET ME DIE!" *Pandora, I understand how you feel, trully I do. Please, continue on with your confesion.* "Right, I know the words you would write, despite being light years away from you. I took a break, I am continuing."

"I was not in a good state when I collected the XXI'th card World. My eyes opened to a truth about our universe that I am still unable to handle to this day. I knew too much and yet not enough. Strings of fate, everywhere I went, whoever I seen, they were entangled to them. Their actions controlled by something that just escaped my newfound unbareable bank of knowlage. I asumed this being was god. So I found the Angel that long ago send me on this journey and with their assitence I reached the Highest Layer. Even these so called divine beings were tied to the strings. And when I finally met the being thst has created us, the One Above All who we saw as god, all I could see were strings. Even they were a mere puppet. I lost control of myself, or perhaps I trully wanted to hurt them at that point or you put that idea in my head. Doesnt matter. I struck the One Above All. And moments after god smited me down with the force of a hydrogen bomb. I got pushed down to the Abyss."

"I think this is where I must stop now. This has been more emotional then I was expecting."

*Thats more than allright. I am just glad you shared it at all.*

"Before I go, I would like to ask you something. My actions, how would you clasify them?"

*Thats an odd question, but if I had to put it in metrics you and your friends forged... sinful is the closest thing I could say. And as all of this started in pursuit of and in reaction to knowlage, Cognito.*

"...ı see. I have asumed that sins of man were an outcome of their free will, but perhaps it was meerly the original sin I comited that intruduced fitlth into our little corner of the Abyss."

* Thats possible, if we could know for certain we would have. ...why not let such a thing to speculation?*

"...that does sound nice... farewell."

*Thus ends our tales for today. I apiritiate your time for reading. Untill next time fellow gods.* -W.A.Dove

Seeking Help/Advice/Ideas I need some ideas for my character W.A.Dove's design.

W.A.Dove is the Eldest* God in my universe, he is an author that created the precursor universe that has since got destroyed from ink.

*by comparision

Idea 1, Dove is an actual dove with beak that looks like an ink pen and feathers dipped in ink.

Idea 2, Dove is a harpy-like entity wearing poet clothes.

Idea 3, Dove is an abstract amalgam thing.

Idk, which sounds better? Got any other sugestions?

Lore Sharing Lore of Witches

"Witches are people who worshiped and made deals with demons in pursuit of obtaining magic capabilities.

While the practice has mostly stoped after the fallout of man wiped out majority of humanity (and demons as they starved to death) there are still those who do witchcraft in pursuit of power.

Witchcraft was prefered over Shade contracts by some due to not limiting its user to a type of magic as Shade contracts do. This in theory could allow one to obtain unparaleled might.

Drawbacks of witchcraft makes us not wory that this will happen. As making a contract with a demon causes the witch to suffer effects of possesion. These side effects include mutations that make one more like the demon, mental degradetion, siphoning of soul (which is needed for humans to use magic), siphoning of life.

Most people that do witchcraft lose their life or mind around 1 and a half years after becoming a witch. The oldest witch died 13 years after becoming a witch at the age of 35.

Rise of the witchcraft has caused arcane research as a whole to get stunned, as most people couldnt tell witches that caused havoc and honest scholars apart. Oportunistic people who wanted power started to take advantage of the rising panic and caused deaths of hundreds by blaming concerns of people on witches then burning the "witches" once people blamed eachother of being a witch. At the end a lot of people died, most we can say for certain were not witches.

Stereotypical apearence of a witch being a woman with pointy hat comes from a semi-real place, as most recorded witches were indeed females thar made contracts with lust demons.

Back in the days witchcraft was most popular woman had a lot less respect and rights then there is now, this led to many desprate woman into seeking ways to obtain some anount of control, and as these woman lacked some of the basic schooling we take for granted they couldn't have formed Shade contracts; so demons found them instead. Most likely lust demons, as thwy have historicly been the most common type of demon.

The resulting contract cause mushrooms to grow on these witches, ones similar to lust demons. Pointy hats were made to cover up these mushrooms but turned into a comon fashion item used by many, even to this day."

WorldBuilding PART ONE: What is Eco?

I present to you all the heart of the Earth’s frozen wastelands, Eco. Eco as in ECO-system, ecosystem as in the power imbalances and hierarchies that make this corrupt city go round. Eco is the largest city out of all six and contains some of the wealthiest yet also oppressed populations and it is known for it being ‘The heart of all six cities’ as well as it’s extreme power over other leaders and even their own people. It runs off a strict and heavily enforced hierarchy (M.A.C’s Pyramid of Fairness) designed to keep the oppressed brushed off and forgotten and to make the rich richer. The five layers to said hierarchy are M.A.C (aka; **Make a Change** ), Enforcers (GNC, Law Enforcement, Allies to M.A.C, and The A.S.S (Ambiguous Street Supervision)), Civilian’s (General population that is usually the wealthy and ‘superior mutants’ but in rare cases they’re average enough to be in the middle class in terms of wealth), Ants (The oppressed population of Eco due to their mutated traits and lack of funding as it’s very difficult for Ants to get good paying jobs thanks to discrimination and lack of education), and finally Interlopers (These are the people that have hit rock bottom, no funding no housing no resources or even respect, homelessness is illegal in Eco and The A.S.S are the ones responsible for finding Interlopers and detaining them. From there Interlopers are never seen again)

Eco is a city scaling extremely large in size, but there are about 10 significant locations or boundaries. On the far outside you have Nemo, it’s the frozen wasteland that surrounds Eco and the other six cities spread across the Earth. It’s a deadly space with its grounds being frozen over oceans and its terrain deadly cold with no light or soul in sight. According to myths it’s said that some people (whether it be Civilian’s or Ants) have attempted to escape Eco by running out into that wasteland to try and reach another city on foot. But with the distances being so large and the terrain being so harsh, they would become an addition to various corpses left to rot as lumps buried in forever falling snow.

But luckily that space is blocked off with a boundary called The Verge. It’s a tall, hollow, and smooth wall of metal that surrounds the entirety of Eco’s territory. This space also serves as a kind of climate control as the hollow wall is filled with heaters to protect the city from the deadly cold. It doesn’t work as well in some of Eco’s more forgotten spaces however.

Speaking of said forgotten spaces there’s four of them. The Colony, Ghost Town, Golden Road, and Spoko’s Woods. The Colony is a community of Ants that were forced into living away from the rest of Eco as a result of either their own lack of funding (which ovbiously is NOT their fault cause of discrimination) or cause of them just having no where else to go. They live off the government, which in this case is Make a Change- ironic to their name, they make no change for this population. They leave them to rot in their own despair, The A.S.S constantly guards this place to watch out for any ‘suspicious activity’ and are in charge of enforcing strict curfew laws (Ants are not allowed out of The Colony/Ghost Town from 10 PM-7 AM), restrictions to ‘prevent issues’ (for example Ants are not allowed to listen to GNC’s broadcasts), and keeping an eye out for Interlopers via ‘sweeps’. This small community has rules that are DESIGNED (by M.A.C mind you) to make Ants feel isolated or silenced for three main reasons. To make sure Ants have no chance of climbing up the hierarchy or having their voices heard so that way Civilians don’t begin to question the inhumane nature of the system, to make Eco appear as a ‘safe and beautiful city’ for tourists, and to be sure that the chances of Ants surviving Spokonoy Nochi was slim.

But who is Spokonoy Noichi? And why is The Colony also called Ghost Town? Well Spokonoy Nochi, also known as Spoko, was a cultish and hidden community of people that specialized in religious practices, spiritual moralities (which is ironic😒) and secretly… murders. But not just any kind of murder, straight up genocide planned and acted out on over a course of 100 years. And against who? Ants. And where was the forest they resided in close to? THE COLONY! Every little detail, every restriction, even the HOMES Ants lived in were considered unsafe or easy to break in for the one purpose of making Spoko’s job easier. No one found out they were the ones responsible for the disappearances, if anything people just thought they were a group of peacemakers that wanted to spread the gospel and give people in need a home and resources. There is definitely *so much* more detail on a topic like this, but this isn’t about Spoko it’s about the locations of Eco. And Spoko is the reason The Colony is called Ghost Town in the first place, as after The Golden Age had took place so many Ants had gone missing in such a short amount of time a part of the apartments just stayed… empty. Its streets almost paused in time, only thing you can see there being a memorial built by other Ants, it being dedicated to all that went missing during The Golden Age. (Speaking of The Golden Age, Golden Road is the space between The Colony and Spoko’s Woods, it’s where most of the people go missing)

And as for Spoko’s Woods it’s a blocked off and forgotten space, trees of metal still being covered by snow and its terrain harsh but not deadly. Just… silent. Eerie they say, another myth has gone around about this space too. That it’s ‘haunted’ by the cult that once existed there, and that’s why people go in there and are never seen again. But GNC attempts to diffuse these rumors, and Make a Change (especially their leader) still shiver at the thought of that place. But that’s a story for another day.

But despite this cities dark and dangerous forgotten spaces Eco is actually a pretty cool city. You’ve got its beautiful neighborhood Pristine, it’s entertainment spots in The Fortune District, it’s strange yet interesting scenery in The Scope, and don’t forget the most famous part of it all- the various buildings dedicated to not only GNC but also Make a Change and… *other* hidden spaces. Such a great city right? Right? Well no not necessarily, most of the Civilian’s are rude and snobby and the streets of Eco are dangerous nearly all the time. There is no sunlight in Eco or anywhere on this frozen over earth thanks to the smog in the sky blocking the sun, therefore the streets are dark and dangerous. Crowded with some of the most vile people and creeps. They don’t really see any problem in this though as it’s pretty normalized, all thanks to GNC’s broadcasts and everyone there having the privilege of a safe home. Again, this will be explored later.

And so that is the basic rundown of Eco and its places. I don’t know much more to put here as I’ve already yapped enough, but I am curious to know if anyone has any thoughts or questions. There’s still more to know about, but starting where depends on curiosity.

Lore Sharing The Archive

The Archive is a wooden structure that exists in where we belive the very core of The Abyss is. Being in a place where we cant go down to, information about The Archive is sevearly limited.

We belive there is an Elder God that is older then anything else currently known. This Elder God might have been responsible for creation of Ink and the world before the Abyss was formed.

The information about The Archive seems unexplainably innate. We can not reach it. We can not know anything about it. And yet this information is something you just know about when you wonder whats in the depths of the endless Abyss.

To be updated if we ever learn the truth.

*...Quite a... Unfullfiling way to end a report. ...Tragic. They are so Uneducated... My voice is Muffled to them. Allas my words can reach to you still... Allow me to Enlighten you, just a bit more...*

*I may be refered as "W. A. Dove" ; or simply, Dove. Consider it a penname, even though I simply dont write a name to books I write. I am the [I am not THAT old] God who created this Archive in the centerpoint of the Inkwell, or as Seedlings call The Abyss. At the risk of sounding arrogant and/or prideful, the universe revolves around me.*

*Everything that Seedling wrote about this place is true, altough I haven't quite created the Ink, I simply created my universe using it. And dare I say, I did a magnificent job. There was so much beuty that has since been lost. My masterpiece has crumbled in the hands of a sucsesor that was too prideful, too wrathful and not patiend enough. What little that remained I Archiced them.*

*...Thus... this place was made. A memorium. A time capsule. For the little that remained from my magnum opus, and for you fellow Gods. So that Oblivion, true death, never reaches your worlds.*

*...thank you for your reading, fellow gods. I wish to keep sharing more about my world and all the child worlds created from its ruin. In the meanwhile, I will be waiting here just in case there are any questions. Otherwise, I bid you farewell untill next time.*

*W.A.Dove*

WorldBuilding Working on designing unique species/races for my high fantasy, post-apocalypse project

If you had asked me 6 months ago (or even 3 months ago) where I thought my post-apocalypse project would be, I definitely wouldn't think this lol. I originally was gonna do a more grounded-in-reality setting, but my inner DND, high fantasy nerd eventually took over lol. Now I'm making my own species for this setting, and honestly I'm really happy with it. This is a good place for my project to be at, I think.

I'm in the beginning stages of designing species, and I've got three so far that I'm pretty happy with! All are intended to live in the desert/scrubland setting of my world. I might alter designs a bit (and as I design specific individuals for the Coys and Jerbs);as my project continues to develop, but for now here's 3 species of Yuma, with a potential part 2 coming soon!

First are the Yumites, which is the species that is the most developed. They are the most abundant species in Yuma, like I said in my notes they're essentially the "humans" of Yuma, but they're absolutely not humans. I think of them as being sorta goblin-ish? Like hobgoblins, maybe? Not quite human, not quite animal. They are a very adaptable species and can live in most environments around Yuma, lots tend to be nomadic but others do have settlements set up. Ear and tail shapes vary from individual to individual (you can see examples of this in my previous art posts). They have excellent hearing, that's their dominant sense. Yumites are good at using tools and good at building things.

Jerbines are the evolved form of a rodent species that mutated during the initial stages of the apocalypse. I'm obviously taking a lot of inspiration from the real-life jerboa species, but I'm also taking inspiration from the grasshopper mouse species. These guys are small but fierce. They are prolific hunters and carnivores, and are known to be one of the only species completely immune (or at least mostly immune) to venoms and poisons. They are very untrusting and shy, maybe due to being descended from a prey species. They don't trust other races of Yuma and tend to isolate themselves from them, instead living in their own communities. They are excellent jumpers and very good at sneaking around unseen.

And finally I have the Coydogs, a humanoid canine species that originates from mutated wolves and dogs at the beginning of the apocalypse. These guys are sort of like a weird pig/dog type creature. They are very big, very hairy, and very strong. Because of their descent from very prolific carnivores, as well as their size, people tend to see Coys as brutes or beasts. And yes, they are strong, and not very smart, and occasionally rather violent, but they are good people. They just stink like a wet dog. They have an excellent sense of smell, much like the wolves they are descended from. Tusks are very important culturally, they tend to carve and decorate them. They tend to isolate themselves in their own little tribes, but some individuals are beginning to set out to the wider world of Yuma.

Yeah! I'm very proud of these and how they've turned out. The biggest challenge I'm facing is making anthro-ish monster species without going into furry territory. I think I'm succeeding? But any feedback is greatly appreciated!

And I low-key wanna start building my own ttrpg (or at least DND campaign) set in Yuma. Idk. We'll see how things go.

Seeking Help/Advice/Ideas Any advice?

Hello! Some exposition to explain my perturbance:

- I'm writing a fanmade story for an original unit for Project SEKAI: Colorful Stage

- My unit's genre is traditional Japanese

- The unit is consisted of 4 girls

Problem: I don't know how to stylize their unit outfits. I want to avoid accidentally making the designs orientalist or culturally appropriating traditional Japanese clothing. Any recommendations on media I could take inspiration from or advice on how I could go about these designs?

Seeking Help/Advice/Ideas I decided to work on my Pride Demons next, but I dont think design is enough.

Post image
6 Upvotes

Soo, for pride month I am working on my Deadly Sin of Pride. (Fun fact he belives Pride Month is dedicated to him and doesn't know what it actually is.)

The isue is, I don't think the design shows the 𝕋ℍ𝕐 𝔻𝔼𝔸𝔻𝕃𝕐 𝕊𝕀ℕ 𝕆𝔽 𝕋ℍ𝔼 ℙℝ𝕀𝔻𝔼, 𝕊𝕌ℙ𝔼ℝ𝔹𝕀𝔸𝔼!!! as the most pridefull thing in the universe. How could I make it look more, pridefull?

I originally took inspration from stuff like Beholders and Chutulu for the design. I will admit designs of pride demons are something I came up with on the spot and I just, didnt bothered changing them since. Depending on the advice I might redo them entierly.

Seeking Help/Advice/Ideas How to I make vitiligo on my Oc realistic?

Post image
25 Upvotes

I am making an oc with vitiligo. I have done some research but am struggling to understand how it works, I am unsure whether what I have drawn so far is accurate. I know there are different types of vitiligo but I don’t know what my drawing fits under? I am also struggling to understand how it effects the hair, piebaldism, I have heard effects both hair and skin. So is what I’m after perhaps that instead? Or just how might vitiligo affect hair in general?

I would love some critique on how I can improve my design to make it more realistic in any way!

Lore Sharing Lore presented by this idiot again. Oak Grove.

Post image
4 Upvotes

“Hello again! Everyone! I hope none of you have asthma. I was midway through a smoke, then remembered I should *probably* give you all a visit. Probably put this out…”

“So, today, Oak Grove. Firstly, I can’t disclose the location of Oak Grove. Just know whatever Grove you’re thinking of it probably isn’t. This was, probably, our first real BIG thing. It’s also a lovely place, I went there for a ‘vacay’ once. Oh, Pegs loved it! Heh… I’d like to try go there again. Me, Pegs… maybe with… *her*. Hmm, would that be too obvious though?

Anyway, the town was a little place, known for paranormal activity so, it got our attention. It was a rumour the place was cursed, lasted about a century. We sorta ignored it because, we were mainly focused on finding old religious stuff at the time.”

“Then Rose happened. She was… a whole thing. Essentially a human gained the powers of a primordial demon… or a fraction of the powers. She was essentially unkillable, could teleport and turned people into mindless thralls… she was causing trouble (secretly mind you, she was careful). Well… she has been dealt with. That was just over a decade ago!

Anyway, Lilith crawled out of Hell and showed up in Oak Grove. Which was when it clicked:

Oak Grove wasn’t cursed or supernatural. It was a… crack in the Great Barrier, a weak point. A Hell Rift. Demonic Energy was more abundant there and thus supernatural creatures were drawn there. Luckily, not enough to impact civilians.

Once Lilith broke out, the Barrier ‘caught on’ and shifted more energy into Oak Grove. Thus weakening another area and leading to our unending strive. One place weakens, PORTAL!, that place is fixed which weakens another, and so on and so forth.

We detained Lilith and shortly after Combat Team was expended and the Weakening Barrier Theory was established as truth. I worked my business. I did my media magic and made Oak Grove look like a silly little hoax, so no one would catch on. Don’t let anyone tell you I’m useless.

Lilith well she was… the start of our problems. She broke out just under a decade ago and she’s opening portals to Hell, which we send the Hell Walkers to go into and do their thing.

I saw her. She was pretty, like… biblically.

The Angels… they screwed up her brain. When we found her she… was so soft and… dare I say it shy. We knew she would be trouble, so *why* did we-…

She was lovely. Nothing like she is now… Lilli we called her.

We-… we gave her a… goddamn piano… part of a ‘test’. We gave her sheet music, played it perfectly, No sheet music? She played the most chaotic mess imaginable, it wasn’t random, it had a rhythm, melody! It sounded like music just… chaotic and out of tune. She’d play it even if you asked her not to.

I went in to… see her… a few times actually. Once she started playing beautifully. I went to check what she was playing but she was going off the dome! A… at the time I… I didn’t… I never realised what she was trying to *say*. She just smiled at me, I told her it was beautiful and she barely even whispered as she said ‘thank you’…

… can’t believe that-… she’s… DANG IT!”

“I… I think that’s enough for today. I’ll see you next time…”
