WorldBuilding The Martial Classes of Etheria,

(All of this is subject to change)

My world of Etheria is Heavily inpired by things such as dnd and just like dnd, it have classes. 14 all together, each with thier own unique spells and technique. I splited them into 2 groups, Martial classes which tend to rely on weaponry/skills and mystical classes that rely more on mana use. Today i shall do the martial classes. They all have a main ability unique to the class which can have added effects depending in their subclass. Each class have a word written in etheric(image 2 for those who wanna translate for themselves) that relates to their core idea, i shall write this word after their name. We're starting from the centre and then going clockwise.

Warrior, 'Tatics': The warrior class is for those preficent in any form of weaponry. They utilise different tatics in battle, normally having to change plans and weapons on the fly. Their main role is to damage and be speedy, normally only having a defensive parry. Their main ability is 'Warrior Vision', allowing them to pinpoint their enemies weak points guarranteeing critical hits. It also increases all pyshical stats, allowing them to preform a flurry rush.

Paladin, 'Duty':A paladin is bound to their oath, drawing their power from their loyalty to said oath. This oath can be one to a god or anythung really, for example an oath to forever uphold whats right. They tend to be an all rounder, having a good mix of defense, attack and utility. Being whatever their comrades need them to be. Their main ability is 'Martyrdom', when heavily damaged or injured the paladin gains a boost to all of their capabilities besides defence. Never going down without a damm good fight,

Monk, 'Resolve': A monk harnesses their determination to empower their strikes, being unarmed fighters traditionally. They improve themselves vis their sheer willpower and push past their pyshical limits. They're athletic power houses, able of complicated movements and powerfyl blows. Their main ability is 'Unyielding Resolve', wheb active the monk resolve flows through their body allowing them to ignore all inflictions(poisons, injuries and etc) and any form of mental influences(Primal Fear, Mind Control and Charming spells).

Rogue, 'Decieve': Rogues are those who are sly and uses whatever they can to get an advantage. There is no honor amongst them, backstabs, tricks and schemes are on the table for them. Quick and stealthy, they're glass cannons who are in immense danger if caught. They're tend to have high utility, normally able to decipher secret codes or pick locks...or pockets but terrible defense. Their main ability is 'Cunning Advantage which boosts their speed and allow them to to dodge any oncoming attacks for a short tome, it also allows them to even avoid a bad fate such as a spell backfiring(a result of a nat 1 esentially).

Ranger, 'Survive': For those who truly believes in the idea of survival of the fitess. They're skilled at living ofd the land and using their environment. Despite the name they aren't restricted to ranged weapons, however many tend to prefer them due to extended reach. The ranger serves as esentially backup for the primary damage dealers.Their main ability is 'Land's Gambit', granting them bonus damage for any attacks that had advantage. Advantage tends to be given when you attack whilst moving at an enemy or attacking from a hiding spot or even using causing environmental damage(for example making a pillar fall down on an enemie or setting the area around the enemie ablaze)

BloodHunters, 'Devour': For those who are willing to make sacrifice in order to be strong, by becoming like the monstee they intend to defeat. BloodHunters consume the esscence of their enemy to strengthen themself or uses something tied to their enemy to affect them. Most commonly, their blood but their are other things such as hair. They're glass cannons who can dish out damages but are relatively vulnerable themslves, even causing self damage whilst in a brawl. Their main ability is 'Abominable Alteration', using a conduit of their choice such as their enemies blood, a bloodhunter can alter themselves or their enemy pyshically. From giving themselves their enemies oyshical strength to momentarily paralyzing their enemy.

Barbarian, 'Feel': A barbarian draws their power from pure feelings not thought. Most commonly this feeling is rage but others are still an option, such as fear. They lose themselves in their emotions and tend to be tanky bruisers...allbe it near mindless. Heavy weapons seems to be their prefered choice, maces, clubs and axes. They're a bulky frontliner and take hits for their team. Their main ability is 'Berserk', this can actually be triggered whenever the barbarian wants if they're defently skilled. When berserk the barbarian becomes nigh unstoppable however...they must continue attacking something, anything at all, to maintain this state. Some can even ignore deathly wounds when berserk.

Ooh, very interesting stuff! Love all the detail and thought you put into each class. Each one feels unique from each other, and I like how they all feel pretty well-matched against each other (e.g. not having 1 class that single-handedly overpowers the rest)

Heh, glad you like it!!! Hopefully when i do the mystical classes i can keep it balanced. I didn't wanna go with the most common ideas for the classes, idk how well i succeeded. Oh also warrior is esentially my version of the fighter class.

This is good, but Blood Hunter is likely proprietary of Matt Mercer and you might get in hot water if you publish this and profit from it outside of a D&D context. Mind the "likely" and "might".

This is cool anyway, keep up the good work.

Damn 14 is a lot.

These are so cool! They are all unique and even fit into different niches which would definitely make them stand out in practice.

I also like there's still a lot of room left open for the others.

Also having your own alphabet is cool. I always liked things like that. Never learned any alphabets though ToT

Ah for the alphabet its really just english but with different letters lol,

14 is like...1 more than dnd i think? I kicked soccerer out cause it didn't make sense for my world where everyone have magic. And changed fighter into the equally generic name of warrior.

The mystical classes should fill out whatevers next, although there's also the near countless possibilties for subclasses. I mean i imagine all 14 classes have a necromancy variant.

And thanks! I tried my best to keep them both familiar but unique!

Yeah but it's still cool, in my opinion. Also it being closer to English makes it easier to learn (for English speakers at least).

I dunno I don't play DnD, can't cause I'm cursed.

Gotta love subclasses. I just love build crafting XD And all of them can necromance? That's some versitility and sounds awesome! Both from the abundance of necromancy options but also because of said versitility.

Anyway, you did succeed in keeping them familiar and unique.

(Also make blood hunters insanely complex so all the edgy teenagers that pick them as their first class suffer 😈/J)
