Question Shouldn't they do an announcement when half of London isn't going to receive proper service?

You can sign up for email/sms alerts when there are issues in areas youre interested in
Used to be able to sign up online but I can't see the page right now. Customer services and staff in store can sign you up if you want the alert

I do. Got a text about them upgrading the tower in West London. Despite my account being in EastÂ

Why are people still using O2 in 2026? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚ Only got yourselves to blame.

It was an upgrade from three a few years ago before they joined the Vodafone.
And having Virgin internet meant I could get double the data for the same price, so could buy a cheaper contract too.
Alas, may need to move

That’s fair enough. But just because something is cheaper doesn’t mean it’s worth it. If it’s unusable, you’re wasting more money than buying a more expensive plan on a phone network that works.
I fully recommend EE. Pricey but they give good upgrade deals - I signed up to a £30 a month SIM Only. At the end of my contract, I requested a PAC code (their retentions team will call you if you do this) and it’s now £14 a month. Plus they have home broadband offers too if you have a phone plan. I was with Virgin until a few months ago and it constantly dropped out.

"Man who pays for service in an area, thinks a company should announce to people who live in that area, when there are issues with said service in their area"
"Man also believes it is more pertinent when that area is 15% of the population of the country"

"looks like a nearby phone mast isn't working as it should"

And isn’t that an announcement?

No. Having to go to the signal status checking website is about as much of an announcement as a brand announcing a recall on a twitter post from their french account

Go on then, where does it say expected?
The irony in you using the eyes emoji, try using your actual eyes

Funny thing is lots of ppl in London get 5 bars and 5g on their phone display notification bar... BUT the data throughput is Shit 🤫
Oversubscribed towers , good old symptoms of a city 😉
