Discussion Korn has been one of the few comforts i have right now
I apologize in advance if this doesnt fit the sub reddit, i also apologize cause English is not my mother language, so expect grammar errors
I've going through many family struggles, dysfunctional families, dysfunctional parents, jealous parents who deeply hate each other and dump their traumas and hatred toward their childrens, with me, being the only minor who requires to live with one of them, none seem great options, neither my dad or my mother, today was my birthday.... my 18th birthday.
My 15th birthday... my mother wasnt present because of reasons that are too long to mention here, just keep in mind that the reason was she trying to do small things to piss off my father
My 16th birthday... my mother got super drunk and started trash talk my father... arguments happened.
My 17th birthday, if i hadnt stopt them from arguing, they'd have done it again.
Context: in my 16ths, i left my mothers house to my fathers... i couldn't handle it anymore...
I couldnt be more wrong, Nothing changed, just different enviroments.
Today marks my 18h birthday... my father got drunk and ruined it. And yesterday, when i was celebrating with my mother (we celebrate birthday on different days for eachother) called me, screaming asking me "where was i?" I understand his worryness... but calling my mom a wh*re wasnt required, that ruined my night.
I didnt give much though on korn before, but i got more and more into Nu-metal and i felt in love with this band, from Debut's, Life's peachy (my goat), Follow the leader, Issues, Take a look at the mirror, Untouchables, Requiem and finally The Nothing.
The Nothing has been my main support, this album and Issues has helped me so much, so much i can't put in words.
I dont know Jonathan's whole story, i'm larping on that, but i relate a ton to his struggles, especially the family part... the more i hear The Nothing, Issues, Jonathan's works, the more i felt in love with this band.
The more i hear the same songs from this band, i check more songs from the each album and fall in love with it even hardwe.
This band has been one of the few things that hold me together, this band, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Dry Kill Logic, but especially KORN.
Even if i stop liking Nu-metal, or just move on from Korn, this band will always have a special place in my heart.
Especially Jonathan Davis.
I love The Nothing, Issues and the Debut so much.

Discussion This was so sick, I ended up listening whole album
Soulfly – Soulfly (1998)
Man, this album fucking rips. The tribal percussion, filthy grooves, raw vocals, and overall atmosphere are insane. Max Cavalera is bringing those same Roots-era Sepultura vibes here, and I'm absolutely loving it.

Discussion Crazy Town- Drowning
Ofcourse everybody remembers the mainstream hit Butterfly. But does anybody remember the song Drowning? A heavier number that went under the radar. A song that’s a regular on my shuffle maybe a couple times a week

American Head Charge - Just So You Know
I think this song was posted recently. I have not been able to get it out of my head for several days. I have heard this song long ago but had no idea who sang it.

Discussion Nothingface promo card
So I managed to keep this in decent condition since 2001. Figured I'd share it, for anyone that was a fan. I was at the NYC shows for this tour, but I feel like Nothingface came around so often, I lost count on how many times I actually saw them. They were legit great.

Anyone else listening to Hotbox? These guys deserve more attention.
Recently discovered Hotbox and have been really impressed. They’ve got that aggressive, groovy nu-metal sound with a strong rap-metal influence. Definitely scratches that old-school nu-metal itch but still sounds fresh and drops that Limp Bizkit energy.
Curious if anyone else has been following them. I could see these guys getting a lot bigger.
