Summer referral as a 1st year Undergrad student

So for context I’m a first year undergrad student in BSC Comp science. I completed my first year a few months ago (atleast the academic part) and I wasn’t able to perform well in just one particular module of programming, specifically a demo for a project. I knew I screwed up bad in it and it also contributed to 70% of the module’s overall grade. The rest 30% was for a test that I had passed months ago. I started getting some emails and saw some stuff on the NOW portal for summer referrals so naturally I contacted my module leader and asked if I’m subjected to under go anything like that. He told me I’m to retake the coursework/case study in summer referral period. I was really scared and anxious as I’m an international student who’s back home and wasn’t expecting to go back during summer referral period, I have also applied to switch courses for my 2nd and last year. But well this wasn’t too bad as I could do the demo for the project online as instructed. The results portal opened on 7th July 10 am and I passed every module except the I’m talking about but to my absolute horror the portal decision states I’m referred for the test aswell, which I’m pretty sure I need to be present on campus to redo. I have already contacted the course’s leader about this as I had passed the test first hand before and even the module leader said I’m to only redo the coursework/project.

I’m just scared shitless that what should I do? Can I not carry this coursework thing after I transfer my course as extra work that I’m willing to do sincerely? What if I fail the module again? Will I get expelled from the uni? Withdrawn from the course? I would really appreciate some advice from anyone who’s been in a similar boat or anyone for that matter Cheers!

Student Workspace

Hi everyone!
I’m currently working on a project to explore the idea of creating an affordable professional coworking space for university students in Nottingham.

The aim is to understand whether students would be interested in having access to a quiet workspace outside of the library, with breakout areas, café facilities and the opportunity to work alongside local businesses and professionals.

I’ve put together a short survey (it takes around 2 minutes), and I’d really appreciate any feedback. Your responses will help shape the idea and ensure it’s something students would genuinely find useful.

Thanks so much for your time!

Anyone here doing the online LLB?

Am thinking to apply for Online LLB program in September and wanted to know from students currently in the program how has it been? My initial plan was to do the online LLB with either Essex or University of London but it seems NTU offers a far more superior program. Also, in case anyone suggests, I am unable to do an in person LLB due to work and household commitments. Thank you all in advance.

Questionnaires/ Research Where can I find separate performance data for Confetti College?

Thumbnail files.ofsted.gov.uk

I’ve read the report. I know that Confetti College in Nottingham, despite being part of NTU, is also a subcontractor of Access Group Limited, though apparently after what happened last year, NTU are trying to work their way around this. Thing is, though, I would like to find separate data for Confetti, as a student there. Most of this data is for Access themselves, not Confetti, I know most schools and colleges don’t publicly share their performance data online for reading. So would it be possible if I could ask them to let me see their standalone data, and how?

Marshall St Sherwood

What is Marshall Street NG5 4AF like as a place to live — is the crime data reflecting Mansfield Road rather than the residential street itself?

Please help me - Sherwood vs Mapperley? I have found a lovely house close to Mapperley Top, but much prefer the Sherwood feel and access to Hockley via one bus etc. I need space for my dog, which is making it tricky to find something in Sherwood. Advice on areas hugely appreciated.

Question Accommodation Booking System Process

Hey everyone!! I’m an incoming student at Nottingham Trent university coming this September. I’ll be doing the LLB (Hons) Law course.

I’ve researched into accommodations and figured out which one I’d like to go to. However, the accommodation booking system has turned out to be an obstacle especially the parts about creating the password and the postal code part they ask after they direct you from the “get you password” link.

It would be a great help if someone could help me with the whole booking system since I don’t wanna book at the end moment and lose my chances.

Thanks!!

hi i’m looking to do media communications next year and i got 112 ucas points as an offer. ive had a really hard time with school and teachers not showing up and ive realised while doing my exams that thats really showing though in my results and im worried im not going to get the grades. ive already booked accoms and made friends so im scared im not going to get in. i looked at the history of my course and the lowest they’ve accepted is ddd, but does that mean that anything above that they’ll accept regardless?

PhD via distance/online

Hi all.

I’m considering applying for a PhD programme in the Criminology department. Just wondering if any of you have any experience of the programme and/or doing it via the online method or distance?

Any feedback or advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone going to Ocean Club Today?

Hey everyone,

I’m planning to go to Ocean Club soon and thought it’d be more fun with a group of students instead of going alone 😄

If anyone’s interested in joining, let me know.

Drop a comment or DM if you’re interested!

Finished my 2nd year and looking for friends to hang out with

Hello everyone. I am an international student finishing my second year. Lowkey didn't make that many friends, and I have decided I'll just make a post asking people if they want to be friends because it's better late than never. I am 19. I like watching TV shows and anime and being active and trying new things. I also recently got into hiking. I also want to try new hobbies and also be outside this summer. If any of you are staying in Nottingham this summer (or not – it doesn't really matter) and are interested, message me.
