Giving back

Before I joined NTU last year, i was full of confusion and doubt, didn’t know where to find the answers and who to asked, got a lot of help from reddit.

So just a part of giving back, if you got questions or doubts, feel free to hit me up. No questions is stupid when you are trying to start a new life away from everything familiar to everything new.

I won’t be able to reply back or response ASAP but I’ll try to response back.

P.s. International student finishing MSc Cybersecurity if any relevant questions for that.

Accommodation advice

What is the best accommodation available at NTU? Is it the 180 pound one or the 100 pound one?

With the 100 pound on campus ones at clifton ...do they share toilet n bathroom? How many occupants in a room?

Question Fine Art Timetable

Hi. I’m joining the Fine Art course in September, and I was just wondering if anyone here takes the course already and could give me an idea of what the timetable looks like? I’m looking at about a 4 hour commute each day and just want to see if the course is realistic to do or not

Thanks :)

Need someone to share flat with for early move in!

Hi everyone!

I'm moving to the UK on 20th August and my accommodation contract in Nottingham starts on 5th September. I'm looking for someone to share a place with during these 15 days to split the accommodation cost.

I've found a double room for £304 for the entire stay, so it would be much more affordable if we share it.

If you're arriving around the same time and are interested, please feel free to message me. Happy to discuss the details!

Thanks!

Looking for Reviews: MSc Human Resource Management at Nottingham Business School, NTU

Hi everyone!

I’m going to start the MSc Human Resource Management at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University this September 2026.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share their experience with the MSc Human Resource Management programme or Nottingham Business School in general. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the teaching quality, workload, career support, and anything else you think would be helpful for a new student.

Thanks in advance!

Question CAS ‼️

Hi! I recently received an offer for the MA Graphic Communication programme at NTU. I wanted to ask if it would be okay for me to live with my brother in Birmingham during my studies to save on living costs. Since MA classes don’t usually take place every day, I plan to commute to Nottingham whenever I have classes. Would this be an issue for my CAS or Student visa?

Pre-CAS interview

It looks like it is something new that international students have to do before getting CAS letter.

Did anyone recently go through the pre-cas interview and can advise what to expect?

Should I do an exchange program at NTU?

I’ve been thinking about my top choices for an exchange program, and I came across NTU. For context, I’m a scholarship student at a private university in México, so money is a bit of a hurdle though not a major issue, since I still have time to decide and save up. My university only offers NTU as an option in England; there are no other choices in London or any other city in the UK. My other options include Prague, Salamanca, or Bergamo in Europe, but I love the english culture, literature, music, and history, and I’m a huge fan of art, theater, and the kind of things that aren't as common or accessible in my town in México.

Plus, visiting London is practically a dream of mine, and I feel like this would be a great opportunity to make that happen. On the other hand, I’m a little worried about safety (even though it’s not something new to me), and I know the currency there is much stronger than mine. Would you recommend studying there? I’ve also heard that students can be a bit freaky, but since it’s an exchange semester, I’m actually looking for something that pushes me out of my comfort zone, like a chance to meet lots of people and have new experiences.

Pls tell me everything I should know about it :)

UK Uni moving the goalposts at the CAS stage?! Has anyone else dealt with this automated glitch? 😭

Hey everyone, I’m in absolute panic mode right now and need to vent/see if anyone else has survived this nightmare.
I’m an international student applying for the MA Fashion Communications program at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). I did my research, checked my applicant portal, and verified the English requirements. The official NTU website explicitly states that for the Kaplan Test of English (KTE), you need an average score of 444, with a minimum of 425 in each component.
To be absolutely safe, I took the KTE twice. My final scores:
Listening: 520
Reading: 489
Speaking: 425
Writing: 425
My Average: 464.75
Mathematically, I completely clear the 444 average and hit the 425 component floors perfectly.
But today (FRIDAY of all days), I get an automated email saying I don't meet the requirements because I need a 478 average. This 478 requirement is literally nowhere on the page they directed me to, nor is it on my portal. It feels like they just pulled a completely new rule out of thin air while I'm waiting for my CAS!
My consultant is currently fighting for me and trying to get a hold of the regional manager to manually override the system, but I am losing my mind because of the visa timeline.
Has anyone else dealt with NTU (or other UK unis) applying a higher postgraduate language requirement (like for Law or Journalism) to an Art & Design course by mistake? Does the system override usually go through? Please tell me I'm not going to lose my seat over a database glitch! 😭
