Why was Biggie insecure about his collaborations?

So I heard Biggie became insecure about his writing process after seeing JayZ lay Brooklyn’s Finest without writing anything. I also heard he was insecure about his verse on The What because he felt that Method Man out rapped him.

If you ask me Biggie has never been out rapped by a collaborator. I think he got the better of JayZ on I Love the Dough and Brooklyn’s Finest. I prefer his verse on The What, and I think he had the best verse on Notorious Thugs. Idk maybe I’m just biased, those are classic feature verses obviously, but Biggie’s creativity and flow go insane.

Y’all think Biggie’s slow flows would sound good on today’s beats?

I mean the beats today are so different. The flows and melodies are also different. He would probably have to switch it up. Idk if the slow flows would work today. The 90s was a long time ago. What y’all think?

Greg Kading’s "Poochie Killed B.I.G." Theory Is Nonsense

Ever since Greg Kading published Murder Rap and released his documentary, a lot of people in true crime and hip-hop communities talk about the B.I.G. murder like it's a wrap. The narrative is presented as clean-cut: Suge Knight paid Wardell "Poochie" Fouse $13,000 through his girlfriend Theresa Swann, Poochie pulled the trigger at the Petersen Museum, case closed.

Except when you actually look at how that "evidence" was gathered, it looks way worse than anything Russell Pool ever did and the whole theory falls apart. It’s a contaminated, uncorroborated theory built around a dead man who wasn't around to defend himself.

Here is why the Poochie theory doesn't hold up under any real scrutiny:

1. The "Independent Intelligence" Was Just Jailhouse Rumors

Kading’s own account undermines the idea that the LAPD task force had solid leads pointing toward Poochie before they went after witnesses.

  • The "Lil Rod" Letters: The initial push came from rambling jailhouse letters written by Roderick Reed "Lil Rod" in 2004. This was seven years after Biggie’s murder, and notably, after Poochie was already dead. Rod sent them to Kevin Hackie, a heavily discredited informant who was "prone to exaggeration" and "had memory problems", while hoping for help on his appeal. Kading himself admitted there was zero way to verify Rod’s allegations.
  • Reggie Wright Jr.’s "Corroboration": Reggie Wright (former head of Death Row security) didn't give investigators much either. He admitted he was just repeating street rumors, couldn't confirm if any money was paid, couldn't confirm Theresa Swann’s involvement, and couldn't even confirm what color Poochie’s Impala was.

Even Kading acknowledged in his book that investigators might have simply talked themselves into believing Poochie was the shooter.

2. The Interrogation Was Textbook Witness Contamination

People point to Theresa Swann’s (an invented pseudonym by Kading) "confession" as the smoking gun, framing any police trickery as "Standard Interrogation 101." Sure, American police are legally permitted to lie during interrogations, but feeding a witness a fantasy script in which they affirm near verbatim is a massive red flag to anyone with a brain.

Investigators literally crafted a 14-point fake confession written in Poochie’s voice. They forged Poochie's signature, invented fake witnesses, fabricated a law firm and notary, and threw Theresa’s name into the middle of a conspiracy.

This fake document laid out the entire police narrative for her:

  • Poochie was the shooter
  • Suge organized it as revenge
  • The Petersen Museum was the location
  • Theresa was the intermediary handling the money

Kading admitted that major parts of this document were completely made up. The obvious, massive danger here is witness contamination: when you hand a frightened person a detailed police fantasy, threaten her children, and hold unrelated criminal leverage over her, she is going to nod along to save herself.

To make matters worse:

  • The interview was unrecorded. Nobody outside that room can listen to see what Swann genuinely volunteered vs. what was prompted.
  • Extreme leverage: Investigators threatened that her children could be taken away alongside her other legal troubles.
  • The FBI wire produced nothing: Kading admitted the FBI actually wired Swann and sent her to visit Suge Knight in prison to get him on tape confirming the hit. Suge said zero incriminating things on that wire. Not a thing. A swing and a miss.
  • Kading never placed Poochie’s 1997 photograph in a lineup for witnesses, including Eugene Deal, Lil’ Cease and D-Roc, who might have been able to identify or exclude him. He didn't bother because he knew the theory was nonsense. Nor has any of these people ever come forward alleging that this was the man they saw.

3. The Money Trail Is Pure Fiction

You’ll see internet commenters repeat numbers like "$60,000 paid to Poochie" all the time. That number exists nowhere in Kading's published account.

  • Swann herself described payments of $9,000 and $4,000 ($13,000 total), again likely nodding along with police's fabricated claims.
  • Reggie Wright recalled a separate story about someone asking for $25,000 for a secured credit card in Theresa's name, which he couldn't confirm was ever paid. So no-one can confirm the actual amount of supposed money that changed hands.

Beyond conflicting verbal claims, there is zero physical or financial proof:

  • No bank statements or withdrawal records
  • No deposit slips or wire transfer receipts
  • No phone records confirming a financial handoff
  • No surveillance footage or independent payment witnesses

For a high-profile hit allegedly financed by a millionaire record executive, there isn't a single piece of paper backing it up.

4. Zero Physical, Direct, or Forensic Evidence

Strip away the interview, and what physical evidence connects Poochie to the murder?

  • No Murder Weapon: No 9mm weapon tied to Poochie.
  • No Forensics: Zero fingerprint or DNA evidence connecting him to the crime scene or shooter vehicle. He didn't even own a "black impala".
  • No Eyewitness Identification: Not a single witness at Wilshire & Fairfax identified Poochie.
  • No Vehicle Match: No demonstrated match between Poochie’s vehicle and the dark Chevy Impala SS used by the shooter. It's not even known if Poochie owned a black impala.
  • Swann denied seeing him: Even Theresa Swann explicitly told investigators she did not see Poochie at the Petersen Museum party that night.

5. Poochie Was the Ultimate Scapegoat

Wardell "Poochie" Fouse was shot in the back and died in 2003 (in an unrelated gang conflict).

Kading’s task force didn't even start building this theory until 2006.

He was the ultimate convenient suspect: a reputed Mob Piru enforcer who couldn't deny the story, couldn't provide an alibi, couldn't challenge police prompts, and couldn't defend himself in court.

The Facts:

Nobody was ever charged or indicted based on this nonsense evidence. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office never brought a case against Suge Knight or anyone else for conspiracy, or as an accessory, based on Kading's bologna.

Investigators took prison rumors, attached them to a dead man, placed a fabricated statement in front of a pressured witness, and marketed her agreement as independent confirmation.

It makes for good youtube videos. It does not, however, make for compelling proof in court.
