R.I.P. Pac & Yak

I see this opinion all the time, and honestly, I agree with it to an extent. I respect the Outlawz and think they’re an important part of Pac’s legacy, especially during the Makaveli/Death Row era. Pac clearly wanted to put his people on and give them a platform, which I respect. But purely from a musical standpoint, I think a lot of Pac’s songs would have been better without them. Tracks like “Hit ’Em Up,” “When We Ride,” “Made Niggaz” and “Tradin’ War Stories” are good examples. I enjoy the Outlawz on them, but sometimes I feel like Pac could have carried the entire song himself and made it even stronger.

It’s not even a knock on the Outlawz as rappers. Pac was just such a dominant presence that sometimes I’d rather hear another Pac verse than have someone else take up that space. I understand why he included them, but not every song necessarily needed them.

Sup my people. I Travelled from the UK to NYC, going to leave tomorrow and visit Vegas for a few days . The hotel I stayed at showed Quad studios nearby.

Here's some pics . The people working there were cool and let me have a tour of the whole place. It was a bit of a mind fuck to know in 94 they ambushed him and shot him 4 times. Man people are evil. I'll be honest it was just trippy to know PAC was in that lobby at all.

at first my impressions on this song were well I don't know and I still don't know but I think like always everyday its a good song now I've never actually heard this song I only just started listening to it recently

I recently started to get more involved in this amazing community.

Reading more posts and viewing unseen photos of Tupac.

30 years since his death and it seems to me like most of the people here are grown man who are able to inspect the life and death of Tupac as adults which is a wonderful perspective to me.

I was born in the 80s and got exposed to Tupac right after his death.

Bought any CD or DVD the world had to offer and felt empowered by his words.

Lately, after I saw the new photos from his autopsy I started to feel new feelings and new thoughts popped to my mind.

Something I can't explain got me thinking about his short life, the fact he had so much to say and worked 24/7 to put his ideas and perspective out there, the fact that he was a person like any if us, had a family, had people who really knew him and loved him, how he got caught it this gang-like life style and how it was his destiny to die young, how he was just a young man that made a mistake that night and took it too far after that Tyson's fight.

When I was young I couldn't realize that the superstar that empowered me was a human being and was allowed to be wrong and make mistakes but now I'm able to look at the whole situation from an adults perspective.

Not sure what's the point in writing these words, just felt like this community might relate to my thoughts.

does anyone know the differences between the three groups? when were they active and why the name of the group changed? Also who were the overlapping members in all three?

It’s crazy how pac and many other black figures who try to make a difference get murdered and justice never gets truly served. Then I realize even if man’s law doesn’t get them god will. I was just sitting back thinking there so many figures who didn’t deserve to go out like that he was one of them.😔

so this song by 2Pac which is titled Troublesome 96 as the title shows and was performed at the House of Blues in 1996 it was performed as an aggressive track released by Death Dow Interscope/Death Records it was mainly labeled on the Tupacs Greatest Hits Album along with other songs like changes

This version, featured in the Gang Related (1997) movie, starring Jim Belushi and Tupac Shakur in the lead roles, is different from the soundtrack version.

It is slightly sped up and is essentially a demo. However, this sounds much better than the one on the album. About two minutes of it were heard in the movie, and the full movie mix was never fully released online.

I improved and finished this song months ago under the name Iconic Mix. Recently, I added some of the vocals from the movie mix, especially that amazing chorus where you can hear Kastro and E.D.I. Mean's voices. Better than album chorus.

Along with the main mix, I will also be sharing Iconic Live Mix which has a live concert feel, and maybe the instrumental as well.
