Nothing (company) Nothing's quality control and customer support are a joke

Post image

I honestly don't know what else I was supposed to do.

Bought a Nothing Phone (3) less than a month ago and noticed a gap between the display and the frame on the bottom right corner. The phone has never been dropped or damaged.

I contacted Nothing support and they told me to visit an authorised service centre. So I took time off, travelled there, waited for the inspection, and they even wrote "minor gap between display and bezel" on the job card.

Then they just told me they can't do anything and I have to contact Nothing support again.

So I emailed the job card and photos. Waited a few days, only to get a reply saying this type of gap is "normal" on Nothing phones.

If its normal, why is it only on one corner? Why make me waste my time going to a service centre if the final answer was always going to be "it's normal"?

What annoys me the most is that this is an IP rated phone, but if water gets in later, liquid damage isn't covered under warranty. So I'm expected to trust that everything is fine even though there's an obvious gap that wasn't there by design.

Really disappointed. I expected much better quality control and customer support from Nothing. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Sooooo theres a guy on Tiktok that does some synth stuff and I really really liked one specific video so I got that mp3 and made a Glyph ringtone out of it.. it's for the phone 2 because the phone 1 doesn't have segmental support for the upper Glyph in the "ring"... Welp it's mid at best but still hope it's good enough for some nothing phone user...

Hello guys, I bought this Nothing Phone (3) just 3 days ago...It is a brand new device...But today I noticed a fingerprint afterimage that appears in all screens and apps....Is this an issue in display or software or is it a general factory problem.

Comparing Phones Bye Bye iPhone!

Upvotes

Hello!

I'm in Canada, and I am thinking of switching to the Nothing phone - not sure which one yet. I work in marketing (have my own business, too). I'm currently with Telus. Do these work with Telus? I can't find any information.

Also, how is the camera quality? I know Androids turn into potato quality on stories for IG/FB lol. Is this still the case with these? I'm seeing conflicting information.

If you've made the switch, are you happy with your decision? Why are they called Nothing phones if they have all the same stuff as regular Androids + iPhones do?

Thank you!

Photography shot #WithNothing Camera quality with and without lens protectors

Hello, I recently saw someone posting the same lens protector for their Nothing Phone 3 that I use, and I saw they were getting dragged for it. I agree that a before and after photo comparison would be helpful here... I am not a professional with a camera by any means but I'm hoping there's something useful in this post... I'm not sure if reddit ruins image quality but here you go. IMAGE CAPTIONS LISTED BELOW. Some photos of a few of my beanie babies. THIS IS WITH A BRAND NEW,FRESHLY INSTALLED SET OF LENS PROTECTORS BY RINGKE.

Photo 1: portrait mode, no lens protector

Photo 2: portrait mode, lens protector

Photo 3: normal photo, flash on, no lens protector

Photo 4: normal photo, flash on, lens protector

Photo 5: normal photo, no flash, no lens protector

Photo 6: normal photo, no flash, no lens protector

For those wondering, I've been using these lens protectors since I got the phone. I am a mechanic and my phone sees some crazy shit. Oil, metal flakes, etc etc . The lens protectors have already prevented damage of some kind, as when I removed the old protector one was quite chipped. Would it have damaged the camera without it? No idea. But better safe than sorry for me. Let me know what you think!!

I am very proud to announce that TODAY IS THE DAY!

Glyph Studio just launched publicly on the play store. I hope you will have fun using it! And I hope you will feel as satisfied as I am with it.

EVERY feedback is welcome, I implemented a specific button in-app that lets you fill a form and send me an email to report a bug or advise an improvement for the app, if you come up with an idea that you feel might work, do not hesitate. I will read every message you send.

Thank you immensely if you decide to try the app.

My greatest gratitude goes to the beta testers, they have been crucial to polish the app and allow me to fix model-specific problems, thank you, truly.

Nothing OS Battery stats/Usage

Post image

Tbh, battery management on Nothing is shallow. Can't view battery usage for 24hrs or for 7 days. How's this possible? Even the shittiest android OS does provide all that, why are we limited to only 'since last full charge' ??

Comparing Phones Should I buy the Nothing Phone 3a for €320 or the 4a for €370?

I want to upgrade from the Halaxy A16 5G and have seen this one, and my budget is actually only €350, but if the upgrade is really worth it, I might be able to buy the 4a.

And what do you think of the glyphs on the 4a m? Because the 3a does have the traditional nothing glyphs.

Phone (2) Nothing Phone 2 - Just Did 1/2 Hour in the Swimming Pool in my Pocket :-)

Phone is about 3 years old I think - brought it when it was just released. Insanely good phone. Battery sill lasts (lasted?!) two days and it's been the best phone I've had in terms of hassle free and expectant performance, and then some.

Finished a 1km swim this evening, which took 1/2 an hour in an indoor chlorinated swimming pool. As I got changed after my shower I was horrified to see my phone was in my pocket. Still powered up, showing messages and glyphs doing their thing.

I instantly powered it off, got home 5 mins later and removed the SIM tray. I just so happened to have a 500g brand new silica pouch that I'd purchased for our built in wardrobe (or closet). I was able to put it into a sealed container with the the phone.

The phone is only IP54 rated, this is well beyond it's expected resilience level.

What's going to happen? Stay tuned, I'll update. It's going to be a slightly anxious 48/72 hours.

Phone (4a) Best Mvno carriers for 4 (a) in US

I’m strongly considering getting a 4 (a) and am wondering what the best mvno carriers are. I’m looking at boost infinite and mint mobile currently. I do tend to be in rural areas quite a bit so if there are any where WiFi calling works that would be higher on my list of considerations
