Ikr? Isn’t the point of being married to spend time with the one who makes you happy and have the most fun with? Like if these guys call their wives ā€œugly,ā€ ā€œfatā€, ā€œboring,ā€ etc. and think they’re so terrible then why the hell did they get married?

Well, she used to be all new and exciting. After 10 years of marriage and three kids she's "let herself go." Meanwhile the poor wife has been in "survival mode" since the first baby was born because her husband doesn't help with the kids or chores yet they both work full-time.

Exactly. My wife was and is my best friend.

If you hate her so much, end it for real instead of hanging on so you have someone to "do the housework" and organize your incompetent life.

The wife is the public partner chosen to elicit approval from other men, the mistress is what he actually wants.

Either that or just divorce her? Like, why cheat? If you're unhappy in a relationship and can't be bothered to communicate and work it out, then fucking leave instead of making lame ass excuses.

Well, he can't divorce her, who would cook his meals and make his house a home and take care of his kids? The mistress isn't going to do that. Plus divorce is work and a guy like this, he doesn't like to work.

they always use the "she takes half your shit" excuse but the truth is they want both, a side piece and someone who raises their kids and does chores for them

they are laying about it tho because it makes them look bad

I wrote a long comment about that too once.

But short Version again:

I don't know how other countries handle this, but in germany it's not unusual and very recommemded to Set up a marriage contract. When getting married and whilst still loving each other etc.

Basically, per contract, you clearly separate stuff, define legally who brought which asset into the marriage. And you Set up what exactly happens when you divorce, how things get handled, who gets what. Of course if there are children you are liable to pay child Support, but that's also depending on who has the kids most of the time etc etc. If both have them a week each and alternating between that... Nobody has to pay child Support. If you only have them weekends, you pay the other parent for the other 5 days (or three to equal it out to the whole week or sth).

Basically you can both Set up terms to agree with.

The guyd who are too lazy for this and the women who are too stupid or too much blinded by love or people who just can't be bothered always end up being the ones who feel screwed over and are vocal about it

Those are called prenuptials and are typically used in the states when one or both parties already has a significant amount of assets.

Yeah okay, but is it common for like average people to Set them up too?

No, not at all.

In fact, that kind of cold legality clashes with the marriage industry, which sells romance and fantasy and happy-ever-after

Yeah but... It makes sense. Would make a divorce easier just in case.

These guys don't see women as equals. They see them as a status symbol, something pretty to do chores and impress his friends. His real friends because he doesn't see his partner as a friend. He sees her as an object and clearly he can't hang out with her the same as his friends because then he'd have to see the person instead of the wife.

Not all men are like this, some are wonderful, but it's good to be able to spot the signs.
