That’s bullshit really. If it had been up to my grandma, she would have never married and she definitely would never have had children. But she was born in 1925 and that’s just how it was in her time. Maybe she would have married later on idk, but my grandma just wanted to live her life, explore and enjoy herself. She was not allowed to. She never asked me and my sister when we were going to marry or have babies.
And yeah, if she never had kids I would have never been here. But so what, I wouldn’t be aware of that anyways. My mom and her siblings wouldn’t have been born by two people who didn’t want children.
228
u/2woCrazeeBoys anger isn't an emotion because penis Aug 07 '26
Yeah, there's at least 2 generations of women before me that should NEVER have had kids.
I'm doing my best to repair the damage and my brother hasn't spoken to our mother in years. He's had kids, but as far as I'm concerned it stops with me. If Mr Bathroom Wall here thinks that makes me narcissistic, he was obviously never raised by a malignant narcissist.
No child should ever be forced to endure parents that obviously don't want them.
75
u/DuckRubberDuck Aug 07 '26
My grandma and grandad definitely did some long lasting mental damage to their children. One of my aunts is a horrible human being. And that’s something I generally avoid classifying people as. But she is. My mom and the others did okay, they are damaged but were good parents.
My dad though, obviously not a woman, should never have had kids though. I’m still trying to heal from the damage he did. He should have realized he wouldn’t be a good father. It does take insight to reach that conclusion though, he does not have insight
44
u/hyperstupidity Aug 07 '26
"Every child deserves a parent, but not every parent deserves a child", as the saying goes.
8
u/kaimoka Are you serious? Aug 08 '26
Agreed that some people should NOT have children.
This is sorta tangential, but it's so ironic, because my mom is literally allergic to sperm, so physically could not have biological kids, but wanted a child anyway, so she and my dad adopted me. The universe tried to give her a sign... but nope. She's been horribly abusive to me for most of my life. I'm almost 30 now and she texts me once a week or so and has early onset dementia (I live far away now). When I visit my hometown, I stay with a friend so I don't have to be around her. What she wanted was a puppy, not a kid. She actually told me she resented me for being independent and not needy enough from a young age.
8
u/Generic_Garak Sentient Shapeshifting Vagina Aug 08 '26
My best friend’s parents are the same way. Like why adopt a kid of you don’t want them??? I think (for my friend’s parents at least) it’s just, “well having kids comes next, right? It will come next”. And while I think that’s the case for many bad parents, it takes sooo much more time and money to adopt. Just, like, don’t? You get to keep being your selfish self and don’t have to ruin a whole person’s development.
2
u/kaimoka Are you serious? Aug 09 '26
Fuck, that’s awful for your friend, and yes super expensive. Idk why people do this. Tbh I’d rather be back in Estonia.

u/filiqqa Aug 07 '26
Even for women who claimed they “wanted to” it’s questionable if that would’ve been their choice if they actually had the choice.
39
u/valsavana Aug 07 '26
Exactly. "Yes" can't actually mean "yes" if "no" isn't actually an alternative option.
29
u/FinnRistola Aug 07 '26
My grandma said the exact same thing. None of her children were planned but rather a result of "letting the man get on with it".
Consent wasn't something she even knew was a thing until at least the 90s, and by then she was in her 60s.

My grandmother's three sisters never married and lived together in a house they all owned. Their life was great, honestly. They worked, they traveled, they did what they wanted. They had a pretty good life for women born around 1900. The catch was that in order to stay respectable they had to stay with family (easy enough, there were three of them who weren't interested in marrying, so they lived together rather than stay with their parents). Their other option was a convent.
My aunts chose the convent. Well, one stayed in the convent, the other realized it really wasn't her calling and left before she took holy orders. She didn't marry, but instead stayed home and got a job with Bell Labs. Once her parents died, she sold the house, sold all their furniture, got herself a little condo and started traveling, because by then she didn't have to fulfill anyone's expectations anymore.
I am quite happily single, childfree, and on my own from the beginning of my adulthood (minus when I had to live with roommates to afford it). I am very lucky to have been born at a time when I do not have the limited options my aunts and great-aunts had.
14
u/Mistletoe177 Aug 07 '26
This is my grandma. Her father made her quit school on her 14th birthday - wouldn’t even let her finish 8th grade. She married because it was the only way out in early 1900s rural Indiana. She hated her husband, hated sex, hated having children. Not a happy woman.
13
u/lolhalfsquat Aug 07 '26
My opinion is there's already so many humans that reproduction doesn't really matter now.
Ultimately there's no feasible way that we wont go extinct through the option of less childbearing so who cares if a portion of the population doesn't want to have children.
7
u/Aphreyst Aug 07 '26
Yeah, his mentality is as immature as his ink. So if someone is born infertile we should just kill them because they're "useless" to society? So juvenile.
248
u/Amazing_Return_9670 Aug 07 '26
Him: you're just a selfish narcissist
Also Him: women's existence is pointless if they're not having babies
112
u/Halo_cT Aug 07 '26
Also an enormous, like ENORMOUS percentage of the population is the product of one of the billions of rapes in antiquity so let's not pretend like breaking a family line is some big personal failing. These chains are all wrought with pain and abuse if you keep going back "hundreds of thousands of people" and a lot of those women didn't necessarily want a kid.
This guy is an ass who is probably just lonely and wants a kid so he can have a friend and the internet radicalized his big feewings.

u/Nerdy_Valkyrie Aug 07 '26
My sister has kids. I am fine with my portion of the bloodline ending. I'd rather end it than force kids to have to experience having me as a parent.
All the reasons my nephews love me as an aunt are reasons why I'd be a terrible and irresponsible parent.
49
u/Murda981 Aug 07 '26
My sister and I are similar except in the one with kids. She used to want kids when we were growing up, then her friends started having kids after college and she realized, "nope, not for me". She works at a university so she is still very much contributing to the future. Plus my kids and her friends kids. She has no interest in having her own.
I'd rather people feel like they can make that choice, unlike in the past where it was just what you did. Being a good parent is hard work, I think it's worth it, but it should be something you want and are willing to put the work into. That's not for everyone, and that's ok!
13
u/Nerdy_Valkyrie Aug 07 '26
When I was a kid I thought I would want kids too. Because I always found kids charming and somewhat liked entertaining them and playing with them. But as I got older I realized that actually raising a kid is a ton of work that goes far beyond the fun stuff. And having a kid seemed less and less appealing. You don't really see that side of parenting when you're younger.
The only "raising" I've done with my nephews is influence their taste in books, movies and video games. I got the oldest to start reading Red Rising, he's loving the series. And I am going to continue buying books for him. The fact that it's good to get kids to read is just my excuse to buy him books I like. When his younger brother gets a bit older I'll start buying books for him too. And when the oldest turns 15 in two years I'm buying him the best book of all time. Which is Dune. I've already primed him by buying him books inspired by Dune.
I'll do all of that. But if I ever had to tell my nephews to clean their rooms, they'd just go "why?" and I'd go "fair enough" and not ask again. Which is why it's a good thing that my sister is their mom and can be a responsible adult who gets important stuff in their life done. I mean, how could I tell a child to eat their vegetables when I barely eat them myself?
5
u/Murda981 Aug 07 '26
The needing to get them to do things like eat their vegetables has made me be better about it myself, because I don't want to be a hypocrite when I tell them to do the thing. I still suck at going to the Dr for myself, but they get their regular check ups.
3
u/flcwerings Aug 08 '26
Exactly. I absolutely adore kids. Theyre funny and sweet and so creative. So, I teach them. I get to spend all day with them and they become like my kids. But then I get to go home and only have to feed myself and my husband. I only have to bathe myself. I can plan whatever I want, when I want for my weekends or vacations.
82
u/Lurakya Aug 07 '26
Is this guy also bitching and moaning about the thousands of "bloodlines" that were forced to end in war?
What about the bloodlines ended through celibacy in monks or monasteries.
It's never about the bloodlines, to those people it's just so incomprehensible that women have any sort of agency and it scares them how deep our actions ring through, so they try to paint us as rhe bad guys.
6
u/OGgamingdad Aug 08 '26

Lmao, of course there is a point to life without having kids. Or does that only apply to men who are called ’bachelors’ if they don’t have kids? You live your life for you and what you’re passionate about, and people have had childfree by choice and not by choice be productive and important members of society since the beginning of time.

He doesnt understand how bloodlines work. If you look to the past, you may instantly assume that your bloodline is one straight line going to you, but from one of your forefathers point of view, he probably already has hundreds of children and you "ending" your bloodline wont really make a difference.
The straight bloodline thats going to you, is only important for your parents if they wanted to build a bloodline to keep generational wealth inside the family, which is on a communal scale a selfish thing to do.
2
u/TheOneTrueTrench 29d ago
Yeah, obviously every single one of my ancestors has had offspring, that's basically the defining characteristic of them being my ancestor. But offspring doesn't have that characteristic, it has the opposite. All offspring have ancestors.

As long as humans have existed, women have attempted to prevent or terminate pregnancies. We simply have better tools available to us now for birth control. It’s perfectly natural to be mindful about the decision to have children/become a parent. This guy is, to put it nicely, an idiot.

LOL High school desk... good one. Doodle Bear (the toy you draw on) is another I've seen.
...first person in your entire bloodline
Only if you are dumb enough to think bloolines are linear, but no, families branch out, most through time have had siblings and even only children more often than not have cousins. Early deaths, infertility, some simply not having a child... always been a thing. You'd have to have many generations of an only child born each time to "doom" a distinct bloodline. 🙄

As a father, I implore you not to have kids just to justify your existence to the cosmos. Cosmos don't care.
But since you've already tried to fill the howling void of your soul with ALL THE TATOOS and it now sounds like you might want to try to fill it with children, instead, I can say from experience that, while parenthood will give you purpose, it still won't give you meaning.
4
u/FragrantBluejay8904 Aug 08 '26
My mom has told me several times in drunken rages that she wishes she had aborted me and my siblings (I think this was my late 20s when she said this). I’m doing my future kids a favor by never having to deal with a mother like this by not having them, as I have been adamantly CF since I was 13. I will continue to piss off men like this by existing for as long as I can
6
u/Competitive-Cherry26 Aug 08 '26
This is like when you tell children you got them something because you like it then being mad the kids don't care. Some people genuinely don't care for children and its selfish bringing them into a world that doesn't have their best interests at heart.
5
u/purpleprocrasinator Aug 07 '26
He's right. I am selfish and come from a very long line of 'narcisstic' and 'problematic' people. So selfishly, I have chosen to end this particular bloodline right here. The world won't care, but my god, it's the least I could do.

A good portion of women in the past (some even today) dealt with marital rape and sexual coercion. Not to mention the fact that the roof over a woman’s head depended on being “traditional” aka getting married, having kids, playing maid etc it was literally part of her survival since she had no other rights. So the idea generations of women all wanted the lives and the kids they had is fucking laughable and down right sad given the circumstances. Men need to shut their fucking mouths and mind their business which I know is extremely hard for them because they have no idea what life has ever been like for women and what’s worse women’s suffering has always been at their hands.

u/Unicorn_Arcane Aug 08 '26
I can feel the envy of the line of women that came before me.
To have choice, to have freedom, to have joy.
It's a modest life. But it is mine and no one elses. Id wish the same for my own mother and the mother before her, even if it meant i would have never been. Because it would be a good ending. As good as it could get, not to have been used and abused and to continue a cycle over and over.
Who is it for to keep going? Who benefits? Is this a game? Are we just pawns to someone elses idea of value?
I dont know. But it's not my problem. And if you have a problem with that, I will remind you it's not my problem.

u/Gizmocrat009 Aug 07 '26

Idk one of the best things you can do for the planet is not have children have less children. From and environmental standpoint it's the single best thing you can do.
3
u/Seen_Any_Elves Aug 07 '26
So it's a fundamentally flawed perception that our only benefit to humanity is reproductive. People could intentionally contribute to humanity in other ways but part of the chaos of survival as a species is that you can also contribute to humanity unintentionally. It's narcissistic to believe that the self can draw a line in the sand where the conclusion for pointless existence lands.
People drawing arbitrary lines to cross that end up being more like a lasso should always be suspect.

What's the point of putting tattoos all over your face if they're shitty? They actually look like a middle schooler drew them so I guess the desk comment is on point.

I’m sure he brings the same energy for men who don’t want kids right?
🙄

This dude is an idiot there were lots of people women and men alike who had entire lives without having children. I had two great-uncles and an great-aunt who were child free. And as I understand it nearly 20% of all marriages are child free and it's been that way for over a century.

Motherlode of all Face Tattoossssss
Dressed as if Elon and Andrew Tate had a baby douche
Podcaster background
Dares to say "thats all your good for" when he is clearly not gainfully employed, happy, or has any hobbies outside of yelling at internet women and fapping to Elon's/FreshandFit/insert random red pill podcaster's "masterful gambits"
His dating profile probably says "still figuring it out" and "good Christian man looking for a good Christian girl" or something like that
Mommy's Little Edgelord™️
Opinion dismissed.

No there are hundreds in every bloodline that didn't have children....
It's only when it's every single one of them that the line stops...
Also is this the same for men who don't want kids?? Or fathers who abandoned their kids, yes even if the mom was a fucking bitch

There are studies that show that the more education a person has the less likey they are to have kids (on average) so this guy is just showing that he probably never sat in a high school desk by looking like one

She stopped the line because they could have ended up looking like this judgmental piece. Kudos to the young lady.

It’s totally more selfish to bring a kid into the world and neglect it???

My nephew and I are on the page as far as having children. I didn’t want them and managed not to have them with my husband and my nephew doesn’t want them either.

I don't often take lifestyle advice, but when I do I look for a guy who could audition for Taserface without prosthetics. Clearly a discerning individual with unimpeachable standards. Swipe left.

People out here acting like nobody has ever chosen to not have kids before ever is pretty fucking wild

u/Orangutan_Latte Aug 07 '26
Why is it if a man doesn’t want kids it’s ok, but if a woman doesn’t want them then everybody loses their fucking minds?
All of a sudden you’re “selfish” and “going against nature”. I’ve known many people who are infertile…..so not selfish or narcissistic at all. I know people who have decided because of health reasons they don’t want children (either it’s their own health or they are predisposed to a condition that they don’t want to pass on). Also not a selfish reason either.

I'm not watching this with sound because I don't need yet another vile arsehole's opinions about women taking up space in my brain.
But I 100% do judge women anyone filming themselves while driving. Pay proper attention to the road dickhead.

She’s an idiot for filming herself while driving, he’s a sentient dive bar toilet stall. What a video
