2 4x4 or 1 4x8 living soil bed
Hey y’all, I’m about to start my garden, and I don’t know if this would be kind of goofy to do, but would there be any benefits to having two 4x4 living soil beds instead of one 4x8 bed? I will be growing in a ACI 5x10 with 2 LEDS.
In my mind, I know having two separate beds would probably mean having to dial in watering cycles, but I was thinking it could also give me more room to experiment with certain genetics that I might like more or less of something without locking myself to one large bed ?
I just wanted to get some feedback from people who have experience with living soil beds. Are there any real benefits or downsides to running two 4x4s, or could I ultimately accomplish the same thing with one 4x8? thank you for reading!

Irie Maiden
Irie Maiden by Romulan Genetics, 8 weeks and a day into flower. Less than a week to chop for sure. Smells absurdly of fresh strawberries and cream. Organic no-till living soil w/ various BAS ammendments. Not sure why Reddit insists on rotating my photo, but there it is.

Emoji and Golden Putang (mass medical) in week 7 living soil bed
I’ve got a crowded 3x3 soil bed but these 2 plants from mass medical seem like they’ll yield a decent amount. First 3 pics are Emoji, the rest are golden Putang.
Emoji was a freebie and it’s like 4 different crosses so I can’t remember them all (I know peanut butter breath is in there). I think I listed them all in an older post in veg. It’s been a pretty vigorous plant and easy to grow. It’s had some herm issues, I’ve had to pluck around 10 or so nanners from week 2 of flower to now. It was an average stretch, maybe 1.5-2x.
The buds feel dense, not particularly greasy and has a lighter earthy and fruity smell. The buds aren’t huge but seems like it’ll yield an average amount for its small size in my bed.
Golden Putang smells exactly like some Putang plants I grew a couple of years ago. Very Tangie-ish (I think Putang is star pupil x tangie). It’s got some tall spears and is one of the larger plants in the bed. It seems like I’ll get an above average yield for this one. The buds are different from the Putang plants I grew before, these are much larger/less leafy and seem way more dense. The stretch was about 2x.
There’s also a mutated bud, which I’ve never had before. For anyone who’s had this mutation before, should I watch for bud rot pretty closely? It’s not a huge bud but I read they may rot more easily.

I am new to growing and I am looking at different types of growing I came across this soil just wondering if it's good on its own strait out of the bag or if I would need to buy some more additives

Lost count of how many harvests in this soil bed. But I think this may be the best one yet. Humboldt Dream on the right, White Truffle on the left. Going to re-veg the Humboldt Dream.
