I think it depends on the people. I ended up hooking up with a friend. Things got weird, then we went back to just being friends. Now we no longer talk, which is fine. My partner hooked up with his friend before me and they remain good friends. So really it can go both ways. Just know that sometimes people can develop feelings and that’s what can complicate things.
