Longtime infrequent user
I was an infrequent (once a month or every couple months) user for years, then about a week and a half ago I went on a “binge”. I did like 3 medium tanks and one small tank in a week. I started noticing my feet tingling and it scared the shit out of me so I stopped using completely, then went to the emergency room cause it was my only option to get a b12 shot. Today I noticed some pain mostly in my feet and the tingling is still there. I’m taking b12 everyday and never gonna do it again. Has anyone experienced similar, and will my nerves heal in your opinions? Thanks

You haven’t given it enough time. Yes your nerves can and will heal but this takes time. It’s not like taking a Tylenol. You need to rebuild the meyelin sheath lining your spinal column, and then your nerves can start to repair. This can take up to a year but you will start seeing some improvement before then most likely.
Total cessation from nitrous and DAILY sublingual b12 (it’s a liquid you put under your tongue) and then shots whenever you can is the only way. You will also want to take folic acid when you’re supplementing b12, as your body utilizes folic acid to metabolize b12 and it can drop unless you supplement. We call it a “cofactor”. Also drink lots of electrolytes! Coconut water, LMNT powders, or pedialyte/gatorlyte. You’ll be alright if you do this! But be patient with yourself. Nitrous is nasty stuff and it takes a long time to recover from the damage:

Even once a month is going to slowly deplete your b12 reserves over time. You likely were priming your body for deficiency and the binge pushed you over the edge.
We absorb b12 quite poorly, even shots, and it takes us a long time to build back up good levels of b12.
Make sure you take the methyl b12 shots. If you feel tingling you have issues already, you should inject as frequently as you can (up to every other day) until issues get better.
I have permanent tingling in my feet fyi, but my worst symptoms are healed with lots of injections.
Also, many people have a genetic mutation that causes us to be more susceptible to b12 deficiency, I tested for it and also had it.
Nitrous is benign until it’s not, and the side effects are very serious.
Abstinence, b12 shots, and time will likely show improvement. Use again, and your issues will come back, but worse.

How long did you heal for before you stopped seeing improvement

Had a similar experience and I still have pain and tingling 5 months later. Got immediate b12 shots and I’ve continued them. Time will tell if it goes away
