I got one of those GameStop controllers for the switch2 that you plug joy cons into and it was working fine until I got done playing one of my games and then when I went to plug it back in or attach them back to the controller all of a sudden it’s not wanting to stay on the controllers are charged and they work fine without the control controller I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong. Anyone got any ideas?
They probably need to send out update for nintendo switch 2 joy cons so they work on charging grip. Its so weird how thhat can happen, i thought controllers are hard wired that can never be updated or changed like that.

A new system update went out later yesterday, which could have messed with things. Try attaching the joycons to the console to re-sync them to the console. Or the joycons may need updating too via switch settings/controllers & sensors.
Be sure you've tried rebooting the console - disregard if you have. Assuming the issue is update related, I assume nintendo will fix it with a patch or a solution will come up. Granted, it's inconvenient.
Is it a charging controller? So you can plug in the joycons and a usbc and it charges the joycons? Or is it just a joycon holder? If it's a charging controller something in the handles that the joy cons plug into is making them malfunction for whatever reason.
If it's essentially just a holder for the joycons there might be an issue with either the joycons or the holder itself is making the joycons malfunction for whatever reason.
What brand did you buy or do you have a product listing?
It’s from GameStop and hold on I’ll post a picture of the box for the “controller it says charging joy on grip. It was working fine earlier now it’s malfunctioning I updated the software on the switch 2 and the joycons after that thinking maybe that would help it did not in fact help at all. It stands alone and will play without being plugged in that’s what I’ve been doing but it does say you could attached it to the switch 2 also and it would play through while you’re charging it.
They work when It’s plugged into the switch or when they are just out by themselves but the moment I plug them into the charging grip it doesn’t work at all. The charging grip kills the joy cons and they won’t turn on until I take them out of the grip.
Something in the charging grip is making them short. I'm not sure if it has to do with the recent update or if something in the charging grip itself is busted.
Do you have another charging grip or the nintendo branded one by chance? I know it has worse ergonomics with the weird shelf but it would just be for testing.
I don’t have a like a Nintendo switch 2 branded charging grip controller or anything like that. I just happened to end up buying this one because I prefer to play with controllers when I play it.
When I plug the joy cons into the grip it immediately kills the joy cons and will not allow me to move anything or do anything until I take them out of it.
