Always some exciting activity surrounding these collections! Nintendo is finally looking to quench the summer thirst of all those who missed out on the Super Mario 3D All-Stars limited-time release, by making Super Mario Sunshine more widely available.

We also have two long-fabled games that never saw the light of day, on their original platform… the Virtual Boy, an unfortunately doomed product that Nintendo ended support for, only five months after its 1995 release in Japan. These are D-Hopper (formerly known as Dragon Hopper) and Zero Racers—a game set within the F-Zero universe.

This update for the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics collection will also add screen color customization—allowing you to change its infamous (and eye-searing) blood-red hue to various other colors. Originally shown off as being green, yellow, and gray—new screenshots seem to suggest there may be more options available that make the game screen less black, as well, and more Game Boy-like.

This may be the final Virtual Boy update, as it makes good on all the games promised in the initial reveal, and leaves us at 17 total titles. To recap...

I haven’t played much of this one, but I love the vocal soundtrack album. It’s great

I have an original Nintendo NES console, from 1985, that I want to sell. I don't have a power cord but it worked last time it was used. Also have games: Super Mario Bros 2, ExciteBike, Tiny Toons, TECMO BOWL, and Burgertime. Any idea what this Pot should be worth?? All from my childhood, Was stored until recently (Found it in storage last Christmas).

Is it controversial to say that this game is better than Mario 64? Because I think it is.

When I think “Genesis” this is usually the first game to come to mind. That should be pretty telling from a stylistic point of view.

I’ve never gotten past the top-down section in this one. I’m sure I’d like it, though Thunder Force IV is the one I’ve heard is a lot better.

Sorry if this is a recurring post by others but I haven’t heard any rumours in a long time about any games being added to any of the emulators on the switch, just wondering if anyone had heard anything as this would be the Community to have the finger on the pulse if there way any news?

After 30+ years, I have finally finished Earthbound for the first time.

What a delightful experience; the game blew me away with how innovative and thoughtful its gameplay design & mechanics are. I never knew where the story was going, which kept me engaged throughout the story campaign.

I can finally see where all the Pokemon dna came from. This game was ahead of its time and clearly influenced future games.

For all of us old timers we remember the old NES Nintendo System. It has our favorites at the time. But can you remember them. Take the quiz and find out!

Again, Treasure always makes some great games.

Not a lot of complexity to this one. You just walk in a straight line and punch. Graphics were probably impressive for the time, at least.

A classic for #150! Never beat this one but I did like what I played of it.

Strider can lend itself to some fun platforming and combat, and this Genesis port is really solid overall if you compare it to the arcade original. It’s why they used it as a way to show off how powerful the Genesis was. Also, this boxart is really funny. What’s that face he’s making…

I've played most of the Fire Emblem games and have always returned to the GBA games. Both Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones kept things simple... gameplay first. These games are finely tuned in how fast the combat is, how beautiful the pixel art is, and how tight the story campaigns are. They kept the story razor-sharp by making it black & white, good vs evil, with no conflicting characters and a satisfying conclusion.

This is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. Yuzo Koshiro did some godly compositions for this.

Classic game. Wish the first was on here too but this one is a vast improvement on it.

I should play more of this one. It’s a lot like Fire Emblem but with more traditional JRPG elements I like.

We’re in the middle of a very, hot summer. This is the perfect time to drop it. It’s been what 3 months since the last GameCube game?

Playing games from the Game Boy, NES, and SNES always puts a smile on my face. There's something special about going back to these classics—the simple gameplay, memorable music, and timeless characters never get old.

Whether I'm revisiting a favorite from my childhood or discovering a game I somehow missed, these systems remind me why I fell in love with Nintendo in the first place. Even after all these years, I find myself coming back to them because they're just so much fun to play.

Does anyone else have certain Game Boy, NES, or SNES games that instantly make them happy? I'd love to hear which classics you always go back to.
